iām just here to talk about my interests, which currently include the pitt, dc comics (batman), hermitcraft, and movies
also iām not very good at articulating my words please remember this is all online and if you get upset at what i write either tell me nicely or ignore me please
no but really i just have a hard time believing that like bruce, i mean heās an interesting character but i see him as someone who has so much hope for what people can be (it is largely why he takes on so much himself, so they donāt have to) so i just donāt see him viewing jason todd as someone who he failed because he still knows that jason has so much more time ahead of him and that he can always be Good
some people online, especially those who really hate langdon, sound like they really want him to relapse so that santos can be proven rightā¦.and itās concerning and harmful
something something about how a lot of medical professionals hold themselves and each other to such high standards that they lowkey refuse to fully acknowledge when one of them needs to get immediate help for the obvious mental health crisis they are experiencing
wise sayings every hour arenāt helping that much and someone needs to step in NOW
dana telling robby that the ED keeps going even when he isnāt there like it doesnāt just rely on him. it relies on every single person working there. and her telling him that is necessary so that he can detach himself just a bit. his whole mind is all about that, itās like he genuinely canāt disconnect from it at all and i mean heās gone through so much while working there, i donāt blame him. but he needs to know that if he wants to take a break, thatās fine but also heshouldnotkillhimself and instead maybe we should put him in a psych hold
reminder that frank langdon lost his job for ten months, has been through withdrawals and at least one stint in rehab, is experiencing financial strain, is ostracised at work by the person he used to look up to most, is likely experiencing difficulties at home, is in a PHP (which if you haven't done any research into how fucked up this system is yet, please start here x x x x ), and is still in active recovery and always will be. and also a reminder that drug diversion occurs in medical settings and the creators of the show and many medical professionals have spoken very candidly about the realities of it.
just in case you were going to make another post about him 'experiencing no consequences' and saying you think he should've been fired/in jail (because suddenly you guys are very into carceral punishment? interesting take.). seems like the radical empathy some of you guys preach doesn't extend to addicts, huh?
i wonāt be able to sleep tonight cause iām thinking about the way robby speaks to mohan and it angers me like i Get It, heās going through something but ohmygoddddd
what is HBOās plan to campaign for an Emmy nomination and win for Shabana Azeez like her big beautiful brown eyes should have already made everyone give her every award possible
so many thoughts about santos and langdon so many things to be said
first and foremost, langdon 100% always needed to apologize to santos for the way he treated her. he was an asshole to her. no matter what he was going through during that time, he was still terrible to her
santos never has to forgive him. thatās her right.
However, santos asking him to tell everyone in the ER is not her right. she has no say in how he deals with his addiction and recovery. none.
also i hope they address it next or idk but somehow bring up this up but first, if langdon self reported his addiction to benzos to the hospital, then that obviously means that admin and all those higher ups know. and they made the choice to a) hold langdons job for him and b) not report him to the medical board. like idk but i would be surprised if they didnāt have someone up there looking for anyway on how his addiction could hurt the ER and hospitals reputation. they probably know or at least assume he stole from the hospital, but they also know that he was willing to get help. like heās under a program with the hospital (i think) so they know
which maybe in the ten months since heās been gone santos hasnāt thought of that. which is just interesting cause sheās so pissed that langdon still has a job and that he got his ass covered by robby and yet sheās not mad at robby for covering for langdon nor is she willing to report him herself
also someone else made a post about it iāll try to find it later but the drugs that langdon was taking, were drugs that would help the withdrawals from benzos. to one extent langdon was trying to stop or slow it down or maybe even reach out at some point. he was twitchy in s1, we know this, we can imply that he was probably, to some extent, high while on the job. thatās dangerous and itās stupid and santos had every right to report him in that moment to robby and higher ups.
but this whole āhe shouldāve lost his job and gone to prisonā is so dumb. iām sorry but what exactly was prison meant to do. make his addiction worse? isolate him from a space that would want to see him get help? i think that santos can be a great doctor, but so much of her personal feelings clouds the way she should be looking at things as an ER doctor.
itās complicated between santos and langdon i mean thatās the whole point itās a drama show. but god it upsets me the way people talk about characters as if they are meant to be representations of The Perfect Human⢠and not representations of beautiful flawed real people.
and also, garcias comment from the last few episodes essentially telling santos to grow up and also grow thicker skin when it comes to langdon, itās still not wrong. santos needs therapy sheās allowing too much of her personal experiences to cloud her judgement and thatās one of the large points of her character this season i mean we see it early on with father and daughter who santos assumed was being abused. i mean she could have potentially made a young girl get sent into foster care cause she refused to step back for a second and consider all the possibilities.
idk guys this was a rant itās 1 am im tired good night but i love santos and langdon they make me dizzy with how complicated they are
