Summary:

Mickey Milkovich and his sister, get transferred to a new school, North Side High School, due to a school merger. Being from the South Side where money is scarce but crime is plenty, how are they ever going to fit in with the stuck up, ivory-tower loving kids at their new school?

Ian Gallagher has grown up living a life that many kids dreamed of and had everything handed to him on a silver platter. Problem was, he hated it. He wanted something real in his life for once, somebody who wasn't fake who just liked him for his money.

When he meets Mickey Milkovich, a new student at his school who got bussed from the South Side due to a school merger, he is intrigued and fascinated and makes it his mission to get to know him.

As Ian and Mickey navigate their relationship, will completely different lives and peer pressure drive them apart? Or will they be able to work through their differences together?

PSA & WEEKLY WRAP U-UP

My darlings, we're almost done with April. Time really does fly, doesn't it? ☺️

As you can see in the "title", this week's wrap-up doubles as a PSA, so I'll start by saying a heartfelt THANK YOU, from both me and Vey, for playing our little game for four years and a half! It's been all sorts of wonderful and we're beyond grateful for each and every one of you 🤗🥰

But, as we all know, the Gallavich fandom has been steadily slowing down. It doesn't really come as a surprise, though, does it? It's been five years since the show ended and we live in an era where everything and everyone is almost always on the move. New pieces of media, new hyperfixations, new fandoms ☺️

Add to this the exciting changes in both mine and Vey's lives and it all leads to this: we're heading for goodbye.

In theory, the roster comes to a full circle with the last prompter (Jessica) on 10th August. It might be a bit sooner, though, since you all know we constantly review and update it. Either way, the last prompt will most likely be theirs.

The blog will remain up, to be perused at will. It holds thousands of drabbles and we wouldn't dream of deactivating it. It's our little archive, if you will, and it will stay alive for as long as Tumblr exists 😊

Once again, thank you to each and everyone one of you for all these wonderful years. It might not be goodbye forever. Who knows? Life has a funny way of unfolding. And we still have a couple of months left to play 🥰

Night had fallen over them. They shared a cigarette, legs dangling from the roof of the abandoned building. Mickey took a drag and passed it back to the redhead, fingers brushing.

"So, when do you leave?"

Ian bowed his head, lips pressed tight.

"In a few days."

Mickey nodded, but what he was really thinking was:

I know you're leaving because of me. Don't. 

He looked into his green eyes, and the boy sighed, winding his fingers into the older one's shirt. It was as if Ian could somehow feel it when he whispered, desperate:

"Don't let me go. Please."

“Don’t,” Mickey almost shouted as he held their one month old baby in his arms.  

“I have to go back to work, Mick. I fucking hate it too.”  

“I can’t do this by myself,” Mickey pleaded. “I suck at this dad shit. I’m not ready yet.” 

“Yes, you are. You are a great dad.” 

Ian placed a soft kiss on Amanda’s forehead before cupping Mickey’s head and kissing him on the lips. “I love you both.” 

It took everything Ian had to leave the two people he loved more than anything in the world.

The paint was still wet.

White graffiti over the stop sign said, “Don’t.”

Ian fumed. He would find this vandal. He wasn’t head of the neighborhood watch for nothing.

He heard footsteps. Got you now, asshole.

Ian broke into a run, chased the guy, pinned him against a fence.

And, oh. Ian had seen this guy, around the block, at the corner store, always staring at him. 

Fuck, he was hot. Still a criminal, though.

The guy fluttered his dark lashes. “Finally caught me, Red.” He inched his paint-stained fingers inside Ian’s shirt. “Want me to stop?”

Ian gulped. “Don’t.”

Ian's sticking prices to peanut butter jars at the back of the store when the door dings. In the curved mirror he sees a familiar figure in a grubby green coat swagger in and swipe something off the unattended front counter. 

Ian rolls his eyes and moves, still holding the price gun. 

"Hope you're gonna pay for that," he says. 

"Whatcha gonna do, shoot me?" Mickey replies, with a grin. Ian smiles and goes closer. Takes a chance.

Snap. The sticker clings to the front of Mickey's coat. 

Mickey's eyebrows raise in affront.

"$2.49, Gallagher? You think I'm that cheap?"

“Debbie deactivated the siren.”

“I’m not going to jail for stealing this thing.”

“That cop can outrun us.”

“Fuck, Ian, you’re stopping?”

“We knew this day would come. I’ll think of something.”

The officer tapped on the door.

– Five minutes later –

“Can’t believe you wanted to run.”

“Can’t believe he let us go. Just a warning that our inspection sticker was expired.”

Yeeee thanks @crossmydna for this weeks @galladrabbles prompt! This is kinda sorta based on the first time me and my sisters talked to my dad about pimple patches 😂

“Why you got stickers on your face?” Mickey asks, eyebrows pinched as he takes a sip of his coffee, completely missing the warning head shake from his husband.

“Oh my god dad, they aren’t stickers!” Evie groans, bare feet slapping the floor as she stomps away, messy red bun bouncing on her head.

“What the fuck was that?” Mickey blinks in disbelief.

“Oh, you know, puberty. Hormones,” Ian shrugs, then continues when his husband still looks confused. “They were pimple patches.”

“Huh?”

“The ‘stickers’, they’re pimple patches.”

“Ah,” Mickey says, nodding slowly.

What the fuck are pimple patches?

Thank you to @crossmydna for this week's @galladrabbles prompt, STICKER. I was inspired by St. Patrick's Day that's coming up. Just a fun little look into a day in the life of Gallavich married life.

“Hey,” Mickey greeted as Ian walked in. 

 “Man, I’m fucking beat.” 

“Want a beer?” 

“Fuck yes. About ten of them.” 

Mickey walked up to Ian and pulled him down and kissed him hard. Afterward, Mickey handed him his beer even though he felt drunk already.

“The fuck was that for?” 

 “Mickey thumped the “Kiss Me I’m Irish” sticker on his shirt. 

Ian looked down. “I forgot about that damn thing. They were handing them out at work for St. Patrick’s Day.” 

“That four leaf clover on it mean you're getting lucky?” 

“You tell me.” 

“Why don’t I show you instead?”

Ian refreshed the page. “Motherfucker.”

In the past thirty seconds, someone had outbid him. 

“Oh, it’s on now.” Ian upped his bid by five dollars. 

Waited. 

Refreshed.

“Goddammit.”

Ian cracked his knuckles. How was he so invested in Franny’s school charity auction? The vacation packages and food baskets were boring, but one listing consumed Ian’s attention: “Rent a handyman for a day.”

Ian hit F5 again.

One minute left. He added fifty dollars to his bid.

3…2…1…

Yes. Ian won the auction.

That black-haired, blue-eyed handyman would be his. Uh, for a day. 

Ian smiled and started his to-do list.

"Flowers ain't gettin' you out of the doghouse for forgetting Valentine's Day," Mickey snorts, texting Ian to hurry home and deal with Lip's whining.

"What'd you and Ian do? If it's a sex thing, don't tell me."

"Went to the gun range, then grilled some steaks here."

"That's it?"

"AND we fucked, obviously," Mickey adds, grinning at Lip's disgusted look.

"Look, I need to fix things with Tami, and grand gestures are kind of your thing, so..."

Mickey thought for a moment. "Okay, I think I got something..."

Just his type. Ian’s had an eye on him for months, so of course he’s gonna plunk down next to him on the torn-up seat eventually.  

“Hey, whatcha listenin’ to?”

The kid slowly peels his headphones off and glares. “You like hard rock, pretty boy?”

“Yeah, like Poison?”

Blue eyes roll, and headphones are shoved on his ears.

The guitar chords catch his breath, and then the singer's voice hits… Take me down to Paradise City….

Their eyes meet, and Ian’s heart skips a beat.

Ian already told him he needs the apartment for his date night with Trevor — Mickey was gonna stay away till tomorrow — but…

…He just needs the first aid kit.

“Fuck — what happened to you?”

“...Got jumped by my faggot-bashing cousins— stop, ay—!”

Mickey bats Ian’s inquisitive hands away.

“M’fine. S’not as bad as it looks.”

“Mickey, this isn’t fine. Lemme just—”

And that’s how Trevor finds them: on Mickey’s bed, Ian cradling Mickey’s beat-up face, their knees touching…

Trevor storms off.

“Sorry for ruining your date night,” Mickey deadpans.

Ian smiles. “No you're not.”
