I never gave a damn

Got a chance to ride the new bike with a load this weekend. In short, the load on the front is better than only a load on the rear.
Current state of the bike. Got it rideable last week. Rode it at NAHBS. I’ll ride it more tomorrow to get a better feel for it. Still needs a front rack and misc items. Light location is temporary.
Thank you Bosco for being a wonderful companion. Truly the sweetest Schpperke anyone has ever met.
Made a fixture to place downtube shifter bosses then used the fixture to braze the downtube shifter bosses in place.
Errando. Mailing things and getting groceries.
First time riding by El Toyonal since my wreck.

Google let me know that today is the one year anniversary of the single hardest thing I’ve ever done physically: SFR Marin Mountain 200k. Photos above with some annotation.
This was to be my first official brevet but in all of the excitement I forgot my helmet. I rode the course for fun, and fun it was. I had preridden the course up through Pine Mtn and San Geronimo Ridge Rd, down to where it crosses Sir Frances Drake. The new parts for me were:
Marshall Wall headed west (Desperate times. It was steep, hot, and shortly before lunch.)
North on Sir Frances Drake Tomales Bay (lots of head wind)
Mt Vision Road (walked some sections, seemed like endless climbing)
Inverness trail (fun single-track sections, a bit steep and difficult descent on a road bike at that point)
Randall Trail (steep and hard, one rider bailed at the base just looking at it)
The Seven Sisters (mega tired at this point)
125.8 miles (202.5 km)
+12450 ft (3794.8 m)
I planned on riding Marin Mountain this year but broken bones got in the way of training. I would have like to have completed a full series in the beginning of the 2018 season but that did not happen. PBP is feeling a bit overwhelming at this point but Ill just take it one ride at time and see where I end up!

These little friends live together now.

Healthy bone growth. In three months, I’ll have another x-ray and hopefully final visit to the doctor to be sure that its healed properly.
I'll know tomorrow if this represents healing.
