The world building of SU occasionally confounds me because if supposedly they never encountered an intelligent alien species before they met Earth than why do they need weapons and entire warrior/soldier castes and armies? We know that at the very least Rose Quartzes (who are part of the Quartz warrior caste) existed prior to Pink's faked death so they can't be all newly invented for the Earth war specifically, and Yellow Diamond's role seems to have always been an army general/commander.
