So when I made the first version of the Lesbian Flag Planet in 2018 I had seen the orange-and-pink variation going around and honestly really, really liked it, but I wasn’t sure if it’d make it outside of tumblr into wider circulation– but it did! And I’m really glad, I think it’s a gorgeous flag. 😊 🧡🤍💗

Since this is an update to an existing planet, if you’ve bought the original you can drop me a line (on Etsy, please!) and I’ll send you this variation to go with it, and the original listing has been updated to include both patterns.

Happy #Juneteenth ! To celebrate in a way that best aligns with how I understand the holiday, I've created two free patterns and made a short list of black-owned small businesses I love.

I wanted to make a list of black-owned cross stitch pattern shops, but even after two hours of hunting I could only find one :( If you know of other black-owned pattern shops I would love to know! I'll be more than happy to update this post.

I search through dozens of Black Lives Matter patterns on Etsy but noticed they were only sold by white people. There's a distinction to be made here between supporting the messege, and supporting the people. While supporting the messege, please be aware of if you're supporting the people(s) themselves by intentionally shopping black-owned when you can.

Oh thank you for this! I’d also recommend checking out Across the Stitch (pattern store / instagram): she sells cute bags and monogrammed items along with cross stitch patterns. Her work features lots of bright, colorful typography and positivity, and my favorite of her patterns are probably her matching ‘King’ and ‘Queen’ set.

I know Christian of Married with Stitches (a really fun flosstube channel) sells beautiful custom Aida and linen at his shop, Fortnight Fabrics. The theme for his latest release is ‘Tropical Chic’, and they all look really good when he shows them in their videos 🍹

And if you like watching flosstubes, the Sunshine Stitchers are also a hoot! It’s a trio of friends (EJ, Sheila, and Gary) all sharing their projects and having a laugh. 😊

I am challenging myself to do 100 stitches a day on this project. Only got 96 because there is a big knot in my thread and I just don’t want to deal with it this late. Not to mention, I did one stitch to many and now I’m wondering if I want to frog all the way back to fix it. (The answer is nope)
