REGARDING : BERSERK STATE / REPOST .
THIS IS A REPOST . BUT , THINGS HAVE BEEN EDITED.
So, i’ve given a few people explanations as to what it is, but i’ve never made a post thoroughly explaining what it is, what triggers it, and what goes on during.
quick note before i start : it is canon that the rowdyruff boys are stronger than the girls, which is why the girls always had to use their brains against them to defeat them. the boys were literally designed to be better, and stronger. as if, in place of brain, they placed brawn instead. so, keep this in mind.
another quick note: HE IS CANONICALLY LABELED “THE BARON OF BERSERK”
in the few episodes that involved the boys, it’s easy to see which role belongs to who. boomer is the softest brother, the most humane, but he is not in any way innocent. brick is the designated leader, most easily the smartest one who calls the shots. but what have we gathered about butch ? he’s hardheaded, and craves violence the most seeing as though at the very mention of the word ‘fight’, he gains a violent twitch and begins to beat on his chest in anticipation. we also gather that he isn’t the brightest, and is abusive to his younger brother (but that’s another post entirely).
but, in the shows canon, he’s a five year old. and during the years, there has to be some sort of change. in my canon, he’s his fathers favorites because one, he’s not the brightest and is somewhat easy for THEM to manipulate. (capitalizing them because not just anyone can manipulate him, he isn’t THAT dumb.) and two, because they understand how power hungry he is.
note: he has always been an extremely violent individual, so it would make sense for him to want more power. if he were to go out and do something destructive, the powerpuff girls would easily take him down with their smarts. but if he gains more ability and power / strength from his ‘fathers’, then it would be easier to take them down. hence why he’s willing to go to them. which is why he’s a favorite.
NOW: MASON, WHAT THE FUCK DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH HIS BERSERK STATE ?
it’s important to understand where his power comes from. 1. he was created with it, and 2. he gains more from his creators. example : when the boys were killed, HIM resurrected them and enhanced them so they wouldn’t die from the same thing they were killed from.
now knowing all that we know now, lets get into my definition of what a berserk state is.
a berserk state is when butch loses all control over himself and his ability. he is conscious, but unconscious both at once, he isn’t aware of what exactly he’s doing, but he’s doing it. during this state, butch has barely any recognition of the people around him, he can only remember minor things. for example refer to post [x] . he can only remember a vague detail that she had killed his brothers. but not exactly did he remember she was blossom. he can recognize faces slightly, but not names or who they actually are. lets say one of his brothers approached him during this time, he’d barely recognize their face and attack them as if they were another average person. and it is when his ability is at it’s peak, when he is the strongest he can be.
during this state, he goes on a rampage of slaughter and destruction. wherever he ends up, he’s using all of his ability to wreck everything and everyone in sight. put this scene into mind: butch, high up in the air, buildings that once stood tall have been knocked over,his supersonic screams shattering all glass and knocking people over. his heat vision slicing buildings right in have. he’s picking up cars and throwing them onto crowds of people. butch using his fire generation to set trees on fire. it’s wild. for the complete list of his abilities , click [x]
during this state (sorry if you get offended ppg rpers), he cannot be defeated by the powerpuff girls. he can only be stopped by his brothers. and when i say stopped, i do not mean defeated, because they cannot defeat him either. his brothers are the closest people to him, considering they are the only ones who genuinely care for him, and he for them. his brothers calm him by speaking to him during these attacks. obviously he’d be attacking them, but they’d have to put up a real effort to reach deep within him something that only THEY can do. and the only reason for them being the only people who can truly stop him without really harming him , is because part of him is still conscious. he wouldn’t try and stop himself if it were his enemies coming to stop him. if anything , that fuels the berserk.
butch senses when a berserk state is coming on, he becomes much more twitchy and feels a desire, a thirst, a lust to go out and make the world burn. now, he can differentiate this from his average thoughts because everything destructive he does on his own time are for kicks, for fun because he enjoys doing it. but with the berserk feeling, it’s an urge to lose control, an urge to spiral out of reality. he feels faint, as if in any second he’ll pass out, and this other side of him will take over.
now after these attacks, he seems as a different person entirely. he doesn’t seem like average butch, and he’s not berserk butch either. after this state when he’s tame, and his brothers return him home to his room, he’s scarily different. butch doesn’t eat, doesn’t sleep, and rarely speaks, and if he has to, he’ll lock his door to avoid interaction with his brothers. refer to this post [x] . in this post, his brothers are trying to persuade him to eat, and he refuses. butch gains a feeling of numbness, and on some rare occasions, he cries. but, do not mistake his crying for him showing remorse for what he’s done. he does all of these things because he’s aggravated at himself for not being able to control this power that he truly desires. this power that would make him the most powerful being in townsville. another reason for all of this, is because he’s deathly afraid of harming his brothers during this state. butch has the potential to be the third worst villain in townsville. apart from his parents . mojo jojo and HIM.
now for the reason he’s deathly afraid of harming his brothers is because he has reoccuring nightmares about himself killing his brothers. the brothers are a unit, they all need eachother (or at least while they are still youth they do). he loves his brothers more than he loves the world, or himself. his brothers are his only reason for living. even if it may seem like he hates his brothers, he loves them. but, i can say for sure that he ENVIES his brothers because they have self control. now these dreams are the reasons why he doesn’t sleep after a berserk state. because he doesn’t want it to feel real.
