It’s from aces calling a HIV+ gay man an allogay when he dared make the character he voiced imply something sexual was happening with his also gay partner. There’s also the time one of y’all called gay people “homogays” THE DAY OF THE PULSE SHOOTING to imply that aces were targeted in the attack.

We continue to reference it because it sums up the combination of sex shaming, serophobia, and homophobia in the ace community very neatly. While a lot of y’all won’t directly say “allogay,” y’all still throw around allosexual even though it’s been explained time and time again why that’s homophobic and otherwise offensive and y’all still call gay people offensive terms like queer and homosexual.

So, it’s our snide way to use a term y’all used against us to remind us that while you now try to be slick with your sex shaming and homophobia, we see through you. You may not be using the word “allogay” but the sentiment still underlines a lot of ace rhetoric.
