To charm a Princess || Catia & Jay
"So proper." He grinned as he leaned against the tree nearest them. He crossed his tanned arms and looked over the petite girl with a smirk and he held back a chuckle. For someone so small she had a lot of fire in her, something he knew Mal would either roll her eyes at or disagree with. Only one person at the school was ever described that way for good reason. Yet, he found himself using that word with Catia. How could he not after all? He heard the stories about her, how she went out and about and putting herself in danger for some treasure. He couldn't blame her though, he himself have done some pretty stupid things for a pretty trinket.
"And why would I not?" He asked her as he found himself pleasantly surprised that she was talking back to him. To be honest he was sure she would say a courteous hello and make her way to wherever she had originally planned on going. "Can you really blame me?" He asked with a mischievous smirk and he glanced up to the sky before looking back at her. "It's such a nice day out." It was a pathetic excuse but surely she would see past his sarcasm. It was a nice day everyday in this world of rainbows and sunshine and happy endings, and using the weather as an excuse to not go to class was simply illogical and a flat out lie. "Why waste it indoors?" He shrugged as he finished his answer and ran a hand through his hair, having left his hat in his dorm for the day.
"You skip class too, I know that for a fact. Sometimes for days at a time." He said suddenly as he eyed her, wondering if she would try and say something otherwise. He knew all about her friends covering for her when she made a long leave to go in search of something in hopes of returning with an amazing treasure as well as tale to tell. "For a good reason though, I honestly can't blame you." He chuckled softly and stood up straight again and neared her so that he was now standing in front of her, towering over her smaller body.
"I would to if I had the freedom to do so." He confided in her as he leaned down some, whispering those words in her ear. "Find anything as of late?" He inquired in a low tone, a brow raising ever so slowly as he awaited an answer from her. He couldn't help but wonder how many things she had found in the years of looking and he almost wanted to ask about it but bit his tongue. He wasn't going to push conversation with her since they probably wouldn't be able to talk to each other on a regular basis anyway. However, this, he would take this over nothing. Having the chance to talk to the girl he saw on that broken television set some odd years ago was something he had to take, she had piqued his interest from the start and he didn't know what to do with that fact but this was better than nothing.
