To write good sex I think you've got to understand why something is hot from an analytical/academic perspective. If it's just 'it's hot because it's hot' then I reckon the sex scene will suck.

What is it about this specific character that makes them more versatile and playful? Or more unsure? Or more controlling? Or sweet? What makes this other character appealing to them? Is there confusion? Conflict? Comfort? What's the dynamic?

I really love it when the author takes time to zero in on the chemistry between the two. I really dislike it when the author just writes whatever makes them go 'ugh' and calls it a day.
