she tilted her head at the name Laura, Dad called her that sometimes. It was odd but not unwanted .

"yeah no prob, m' names not Laura though, it's 23."

23 hummed, sticking her tongue out in concentration

"you got a sample of the thing? I can be a sniffer dog an' detect anythin' that contains it"

"23...got it." She was calm as she pulls out a rag from Bucky. "My partners have gone a bit, tad crazy..."

She eyes 23 as she smiles. "You remind me of your dad..."

"gathered that" she sniffed "reminds me of some of the stuff they used in hydra"

23 looked over, smiling a little "I do? I— thank you "

"Green Goblin studied things from Hydra. Using the same method on those close and well it's spreading." She smiles a bit, "Of course. Your father and me were once old friends...."

"fuckin' gross, hydra's claws are in everything" she grumbled

"think my healing factor could wipe it out? 'm no genius but it's good with poison"

"It's not a poison is the issue. It's a serum...it's a toxin that sticks and clings. Sometimes it stays buried after a while..." She sighs softly.

"ah— still, maybe it's worth it to test? I can give you some blood if you have a resident genius who can test on it" she replied, sticking out her tongue as she thought it over

"I have my teenage daughter and a Tony Stark or two." She smiles thinks. "I'll take your offer on this. Maybe I am missing another mutant gene in this to help us win..."

She nodded

"Wolverines are known to survive against all odds" 23 joked, smiling.

Sienna smiles as she nods her head. "I agree with that... Here, let me get a blood kit so I can get a sample."

23 nodded, looking around for a place to sit down so she could draw blood. "M'kay."

Sienna walks over with the kit as she pulls gloves on. "Which arm is better for you?"

she pulled off her jacket, wearing a t-shirt underneath. her tan skin had a few pale scars littering it, she stuck out her right arm. "this one works."

Sienna nods her head as she hums. Gently she pokes the needle in as she began to draw blood. "Thank you..."

She doesn't wince at the needle, used to the feeling.

"it's the least I can do, I—" she looked at her arm, the blood being drawn

Logan and 23 were training in the X-Mansion's danger room, just borrowing it as they had nowhere else safe they could train without attracting too much attention.

He had specifically been teaching 23 the right way to pounce onto someone with her claws so that there was the least chance for them to react, but he may have taught her too well. He wasn't expecting her to grasp it so quickly, so he didn't extend his claws quick enough to block the slash at him, leaving quite a substantial gash in his arm. His bone was visible, or at least the metal covering it.

He winced, instinctively grabbing it and putting pressure on it, helping it to heal. He tried to make it not seem like a big deal.

"Ah.. fuck.. that was- that was great, bub."

23's eyes went wide and she retracted her claws.

"No… no…" she muttered, voice shaking.

You hurt him, 23. It's all you can do.

He shook his head, blood starting to drop out of the hand covering it now.

"No, no, it's okay, bub, I'm fine."

He said, slightly strained, but he was mostly telling the truth.

"no… no it's not" she stared at the blood against her knuckles, refusing to look at him

He took his hand off for a moment to look at the wound, the flesh already healing slightly.

He breathed a sigh of relief. He put his hand back on it and chuckled.

"You don't know how many times this has happened, seriously- I'll just, go grab some bandage, wrap me up. I'll be more careful next time-"

"What if i lose control around someone who can't heal" she asked suddenly, still not looking at him.

"I've lost control too many times… I—" she bit her tongue, drawing blood. "I don't want to— they could've used scent to make me kill and I—" 23 mumbled weakly.

"It wasn't your fault, 23. I should've blocked it quicker. I underestimated you.. you're not with them anymore."

He says, moving carefully towards the entrance of the danger room, pressing a panel in the wall to reveal an array of first aid materials.

23 still refused to look at him, eyes stubbornly fixed on her hands

"What if they can control me? What if s.h.i.e.l.d—"

He reached inside the metal compartment to grab the bandages, before cutting her off by slamming his fist down onto the metal, making a loud bang.

"I Fucking know you, Laura- I.. fuck.."

He took a deep breath.

"23.. I know you. SHIELD isn't gonna lay a fucking finger on you, because if they do, they'll find 6 knives in the chest of whoever is in charge of that shit hole."

He said, not looking her in the eye, just slowly continuing to grab out the bandage and starting to wrap it around himself silently.

She jumped at the loud bang

"…you'd do that for me?"

He nodded his head.

"hate those fuckers anyways.. it'd be an excuse to beat em all up."

she hummed, not replying for a little.

"thank you…"

He tied off the bandage biting off the end to rip it. the ends were slightly stained red from his hands. He could taste the blood in his mouth, which, scarily, wasn't that unusual for him.

She glanced over

"s gonna fray if you tear it like that." 23 commented, walking over and inspecting the bandage.

He shrugged.

"won't need it for long anyways."

"fair… but it's good to know if you're bandaging someone else" she replied, mimicking his shrug

"I know how to do it right, just can't be fucked if it's on myself- once you tie a bandage on yourself the first hundred times you start getting a bit sloppy."

"…" she opened her mouth, as if thinking about her response

"…i know" she replied weakly, hoping his tone wouldn't become angry

she seemed almost disappointed, 23 was trying to just talk about anything other than that she hurt people and she'd disrespected her superior.

He glanced at her, a bit concerned. He was going to suggest they keep going with the training, but he could see she was overwhelmed. He sighed, wincing slightly as the wound expanded with the breath.

"Okay, okay.. I think we're good for today. You wanna go home?"

"…m'kay" she nodded, back with hydra she'd have trained until she collapsed, but this wasn't hydra and she was safe now.

My headcannon about Logan and Laura is that Laura is WAY more protective over Logan then he is over her.

He thinks she is a capable kid and can definitely hold her own. He doesn't want to crowd her, but he always has an eye on her during any battles. But during the rare instances someone gets the better of her, he is RIGHT there on top of them. Just a solid wall of angry Papa Wolverine.

Laura is Logan’s shadow and she watches him like a hawk. She already watched one Wolverine die and she isn't gonna let another drag himself down. She's there to protect him from anything, physical or mental.
