When you work as a spook, you learn to always look over your shoulder and trust no one. Life is like that a lot now. The circle I keep is small. Those I trust I could count on one hand. I like it that way.

I'm not sure that I'll ever get used to having discussions with my best friend as she sits in my coffee cup while the morning coffee brews. There are still days that I wonder if I'm stuck in some strange dream, or wish I was.
