Howdy do, Tumblr! Yes, I've returned after more than a year of unexplained absence to mast-post doodles because I'm obsessed with the ocs from one of my fav artist's new hyperfixations, that's perfectly normal what do you mean- So as mentioned, @brightgoat is one of my biggest inspirations as an artist, I've loved their stuff for years, and I've recently been hooked on their latest story, Minecraft: My World, a fun reimagining of the world of minecraft with some standout characters and narratives that have me in more of a claw grip than I ever anticipated, it's great! I highly recommend you check their stuff out (my audience of 24 from a year ago), including their art for other fandoms! It's all unbelievably stunning they're very cool!

These are bunch of doodles mostly of their ocs Nil, the Nitwit Villager, and Polly, the Passive Pillager. I heart them so much! What silly little guys!! Their friendship means so much to me!!! I love drawing them and I want to draw them so much more, and also the witch, the trader, Steve!!!! haaaaah, but college life demands much of me, so unfortunately, it may be a while before I can. (and I have so many ideas it's driving me crazy!!)

Ok, final note before I go again. Thanks Bright (if you read this) for teaching me what clipping groups are!! Aside from your art literally inspiring me in more ways than I can count, that was incredibly helpful to me not getting frustrated with my digital art as much! Introducing: To Be Small - The Main Cast

"It is easy to feel small when facing you is the towering shadow of reality."

I am proud to present the first character page for my first story, To Be Small! These four are the main party of the story; tiny critters on a journey to find the strength they need to prevail by facing their worst fears.

For now, that's all I'll say. If I'm being honest, I'm posting this earlier than I'd like for personal security. I'm not ready to start sharing the story, not when my main cast doesn't even have proper names! Nevertheless, that doesn't mean I'm not open to questions, so if you're interested, please, go ahead and ask! I'd love to share some details about my little guys!

Nevertheless, consider it my sweet goodbye for the time being, as I put the most effort into this out of everything. I'm not done with fan art for this, mind, just busy at the moment. Transcription for the doodles (Guys honestly my handwriting usually sucks butt): Image 4: Meanwhile 'Is my boyfriend going to implode?' Image 5: Bill: "Aw c'mon, I haven't even seen her yet-" Ford: "Bill. Yes or no?" 'How do I help her? Will she die? What happened? Is she ok? This was a mistake. Let me be wrong about you. What did you do?' Bill: "...Ok so maybe I sent her mind to hell-" Ford: "WHAT" Image 6: Bill: "Finally, everything's comin' up BILL! Dumb ol' Jan-Jan's out of the picture, the gang's come back, and Sixer loves me again! What could possibly go wro-" Ford: "Now hold on-" Image 7: Stan: "HEEEERE'S STANLEY!! and Fids!" Ford: "Hm."

Ok so for the big fancy one, it's actually the first fan art I made for this fic and what pushed me to actually draw any at all, because the moment I read Ford getting all flusters at the thought of his and Bill's future I just lost it! This silly guy, getting excited by getting to do science! I saw it so clearly in my mind and just had to get it on paper. (digital paper that is)

I also drew all of these before I figured out my coloring style, so I was experimenting with this one. Yellow, as pretty as it is, is very frustrating on its own, particularly in dark values. I have mixed feelings about the final look.

The doodle of guilty Bill, I stopped reading the chapter to draw, haha! Once again, the vision was so clear, I just had ta! Rushed it though, since I had to get back to it and read the rest, but I'd like to come back to this one and touch it up sometime.

These are old drawings, so back around those chapters I was wondering if Stanley and Fiddleford showing up. Those last doodles were my joking prediction of how that'd happen. I have no clue honestly how the story is going to end and if that's even still a possibility. (Probably not, I mean, oh my god how would that work out, but I swear if that's happened in the latest chapters and I don't KNOW-) (don't tell me if it did or not)

I love the henchmaniacs, we should all draw them more I think.

Aight chat, this week you're getting some old art! (Can't always give you the freshest goods!) Made this all the way in 2022, wowza! One of my oldest pieces on my laptop, in fact. It's fun seeing how much my style has changed from only two years ago, and all the similarities that lingered. Check under the cut for some fun facts about these!

These drawings are so old that they come from the time where I didn't know most of Krita's (the program I use) basic functions, like, oh y'know, clipping masks. When rendering Susie, I first did line art for her, did the flats, and then painstakingly applied color adjusting filters to get it to look lineless. Ah, those were the days (it was torture, so glad I've learned).

I've never been a fan of robes. The shape of them was always frustrating to draw and when Ralsei's design switched in chapter two from what most assumed was a poncho to a robe, I had been really frustrated by the change (also I missed the poncho headcanon, it was so cute with his little hat :[ ). So back then, i decided to give him a... sideless dress? Instead as a middle man for a robe and a poncho (which makes no sense, I know, I don't know what my train of thought for that was either). I've come around to his design now (still don't really dig robes though), though I might play with some redesigns in the future, just for funsies. (I still miss his little hat :'[ )

I had been apart of the Spamton hype train when people were going nuts over this guy (though funnily enough, I did NOT like him when I encountered him in my playthrough), and I was sad to see him reduced to an accessory, so I came up with Bartender Spamton, where he gets brought to Castletown instead and works with Swatch at the cafe as a bartender, serving Big Shots to some [BIG SHOTS!] I have some more art I could probably dig up of that, if anyone's interested, haha.

So anyways, I started blasting- I remember seeing a post on this site about Ford not knowing about some basic things, like what an axolotl was or something of the sort, based on The Book of Bill. Couldn't find it again (:[), but it did make me think about how he would not know what the evil eye is and the very easy way to keep Bill away. Ended up making a comic out of the concept. Evil triangles on the loose? Pfft, say hello to my little bracelet! Check under the cut for some rambles/head canons!

I do wonder if Alex Hirsch took actual inspiration from the superstition when designing Bill. His magic is bright blue after all, he's got the gold, black and white colors too, and he's literally an evil eye, with big lashes and everything. I like to think that originally Bill used to think the Middle East was the peak of humanity, blessing them with golden ages, becoming a god to them, inspiring the pyramids and such, until the people cottoned on to his true nature and created the evil eye charms to boot him out. That was Bill's second-worst breakup ever.

1.) Biggest surprise while writing this year? Uh. Well, I wrote over 100k in 3 months somehow despite only planning to write 2k. Prettyyyyy surprising! Also all the love Jan has gotten; I thought I'd have to really defend my choice to include an OC in the plot but that has not been the case.

2.) How many WIPs do you have in your docs for next year? Literally only the one unless you count daydreams haha

3.) Favourite character to write this year? Bill. He's the kind of fucked in the head that makes me rant out loud while lying on the floor at 2AM. His dialogue just writes itself. I need him to be beaten to a pulp and I need him to experience true love. Possibly in the same sentence if I can swing it.

4.) The character that gave you the most trouble this year? Pyronica. I still don't feel like I have a good idea of who she is in the story. She lacks depth even when I try to draw it out of her. I have some ideas for how to fix that, but since she's so tertiary, I rarely feel like I have space to explore them in a meaningful way... I'm not sure if this is a problem or not but it feels like one.

5.) What's one pairing you want to explore next year? Look buddy (affectionate), I'm just tryin' get this one relationship to fit into a semi-coherent narrative structure okay (in other words, I'll be obsessed with billford at least until TiBiBiBaP is done and after that I'll be at the whims of my hyperfixations)

Well, actually... I could see myself writing about River and the Doctor if that obsession returns to me as it so often does. I do have some Opinions that could be expressed in fic format. Before TBOB came out, I even wrote some of those ideas down, so who knows.

7.) Did you do any collaborative works this year? No, but that would be cool!

8.) What do you listen to while writing? This playlist, mostly, for the vibe. Or Gravity Falls lo-fi if I'm really focusing on refining the flow of the actual words. Sometimes I also have to listen to my own unhinged media analyses :)

9.) Favorite line/passage you wrote this year? ohhhooohoho... I cannot say. It hasn't been published yet!!!! I just wrote it last night.

Second place is probably this, though (haha spoilers btw):

With a fluid, graceful motion, Janet swung the axe, embedding it into Ford’s neck. The wet sound of metal cleaving through flesh and bone echoed in the room, followed by a splatter of warm blood that painted both of them. The man jerked violently, then toppled over onto the floor, choking and clawing uselessly at his neck. Bill’s eye involuntarily flicked down, meeting Ford’s wide, terror-stricken gaze for an agonizing, dream-dilated second. He looked back up at Janet. She smiled at him, blood smeared on her teeth.

I laboured over this paragraph and finally the words all came together in such an evocative way. Plus, I felt very evil after writing it >:) hehe. My romantic drama can have a little murder as a treat.

Not sure whether I should've reblogged or not. This is a first for me! Thanks a bunch for tagging me! (you WHAT- *explodes*) 1) Biggest surprise while writing this year? Honestly, it's the fact I wrote anything at all! Sure, I've written short drabbles or notes for fic ideas, but I've never actually finished anything before, let alone posted it! It may not be very long or very good, but I'm happy to have done it. :] (and people actually read it! wow!!!) 2) How many WIPs do you have in your docs for next year? Good Question! No clue!!! Look, in terms of fic ideas I'd like to write at some point, I've got maybe 5? typed out in various google docs, but do I think I'll actually write or post any of them? I dunno! 3.) Favourite character to write this year? Um. Uh. Uhhhh- glances at the two short things I've written this year: UHHHHHM- Howzabout I talk about a character I'm excited to write for? I'm really interested to play around with Error's personality one day. He's a very unstable character normally and I wanna play around with that emotional instability and all his other character flaws when the factors that enabled them are severely changed. He's a huge man-baby and I love him for it. Into the blender he goes! 4.) The character that gave you the most trouble this year? I'll change this one to something about writing itself that gave me trouble. I found pacing dialogue with narration oddly tricky; I'm trying to figure out how to balance dialogue speaking for itself and directing the flow of the narrative, and when narration is needed to expand on what's happening. There are scenes I want to write where I leave more to implication rather than spelling it out, but my few attempts so far have been... janky, to say the least. I think the problem might be that I have a "show don't tell" mindset that works for comics and not so much for fanfiction, which is a lot of telling. It's quite the change to go from analyzing writing to actually attempting to do it yourself, but hey, had to walk that mile at some point. 5) What's one pairing you want to explore next year? I suppose Error and Ink being friends! Of all my fic ideas, this is the one I'm most excited to write and have wanted to write for the longest time (though originally I had a very different idea for it). Reason being? You'd be surprised how little content there is for those two being friends, despite their immense popularity! I've never seen art or writing of them actually fighting together, for one, which is a SHAME! There's so much potential for their powers mixing and their attack styles complimenting each other. There's just so much potential for them written as a willing duo and if no one else is going to do it, then I sure am! Also, they're both idiots that share a brain cell and to me that is the peak character dynamic. 6) Did you receive any gifts this year? Heehoo, I just got here, so no. But I've been truly flattered with the support I've gotten so far, and honored by all the mutuals I've met. Y'all are lovely and just chatting with y'all is gift enough! 7) Did you do any collaborative works this year? No, but I'd like to! That'd be cool! Please? :'] 8) Well, sometimes I write in silence tbh (though mostly that's when I suddenly have poetry inspiration I need to write down before I lose it), but I think video game osts, like the Kirby and the Forgotten Land OST (The amount of times i've listened to that one...) or any of the songs I'm listening to at the moment if they're not too distracting. Pretty much the same as for when I'm drawing. 9) Favorite line/passage you wrote this year? mmm, I haven't been too fond of what meagre writing I've done this year, but I did really like this little poem that capped off a draft of a prologue.

Despite gripping embraces and counfounding emotions, Despite every sudden change and new truth, Strangely similar opposites smiled through their unmaking, Old enemies no longer so, thought, "I'm glad to be here with you." The multiverse ceased to be, it's last bits bereaved, Its gods wailed and weeped and worried; their creations had fallen apart. But as haphazard stitches ceased, the paint strokes no longer bleached, Life was rebooted anew, it's unmaking undone, the stories restart. It faded to black, then to white; shut off, turned on. An empty page, a sterile cage; two voids turned to one.

It's not something I'm sure I'll keep, and it'll be a long time before it'd ever see the light of ao3, so might as well share it. French (and Euclidian) Translations Image 4: Janet: "Give me a drink already." & 'This damn triangle" Bill: "Of course, buddy!" & 'This damn human' Image 8: "Oh god, I live with a deranged man." Hello my dear audience! Quickly, I wanna apologize for not updating last week (only three weeks in with a stockpile of old art and you didn't post? Classy Snap); I was returning home after a long trip out of the country and got swept up in everything. I've got a lot to share this week though, so I hope that makes up for it! These are all my doodles of Janet, an original character from the fic Then it becomes, it becomes, it becomes a problem by @tempusedax-rerum on ao3. It's a jaw-droppingly well written fic chock full of fun little allusions to our everyday world and some of the most ludicrously entrancing imagery that has me seeing more than just stars. You should go read it, if you're over 18 and the tags aren't a problem, because it may be about Bill and Stanford, but I stayed for Dr. Janet Janvier! (I stayed for a lot more than Jan but we're celebrating her today). I got a lot to say - I'm a chronic chatterbox! - so here's what you can find under the cut: - rambles about design choices and headcanons - a whole lotta bonus doodles - alt versions of the art above (for the pencilwork)

Quick fun fact: I had to redraw everything here!!! (Sometimes life really sucks) Some things here I hadn't drawn the first time, but this whole layer of doodles got mysteriously deleted and I couldn't recover it by the time I'd noticed. So uh, yeah. Design notes and Headcanons: - I try to use a lot of strong shape language in my designs, and chose a rectangle as her primary shape; she's stretched thin and tall, and often teeters between high stress and calm groundedness, like a rectangle getting flipped from its thin side to its longer one. She's unbalanced, and pretty rigid, and I just think rectangles suit her well. She also matches Ford, a square, is very different, though not opposite, from Bill, and is rather similar to Fiddleford, who she is the narrative replacement of.

- We don't get to see Janet in anything other than a soaked martini dress and an old hoodie and sweatpants and I think that's a shame! It makes sense within the narrative, but I've been curious as to what her typical dress is, so I decided to dress her up in various "80's outfits" (in quotes 'cause I went on pinterest and have no understanding of any kind of fashion) for fun. Personally, though it wouldn't exist yet, I feel like Jan would like early 2000's fashion.

- So I study French and immediately when I learned Janet's full name I said "Is her last name blipping JANUARY?!" and thus my habit of headcanoning characters I like as french or french-speaking was invoked. In hindsight, I should've looked up her last name before committing to the headcanon because as it turns out, Janvier is a regular last name and is more popular in francophone countries in Africa than it is in France. Look, if you give me the sliver of a chance to write in French, I'm going to do it. It's a lovely language!

- I think Bill is able to see what shapes each person is made up of, even though people aren't shapes he can see people as both a composition of different shapes and as disgusting meat sacks (so in other words, he's an artist? kidding, kidding!). Therefore, he looks at Janet and is disgusted by her rectangularness and would insult her for it while she blows him up in her mind. Something something, Square's and rectangles would often get along in Euclidia so Bill's like "Well Ford's a square so he'd probably find a rectangle attractive even though they're not even equilateral and are just the worst-" Janet really is such an interesting character, despite existing just to propel the narrative. I've always loved fics that take the time to establish side characters, a world outside of the main plot, those who take the risk of adding an oc as a main-stay to provoke the characters to make decisions they wouldn't have on their own. I love how Janet serves as a narrative device but gets the chance to flourish on her own, and as invested as I am in Bill's constant deconstruction of his self and Ford trying to puzzle out his own feelings of hope, fear, and everything involving Bill, I am just as invested in Jan's conflict with herself, her husband, and her desire for control over her life where she feels she has none. We should all take notes from Janet, cause she's a really wonderful oc, and I'd love to see more of her beyond the billford. To Tempused: Thanks for writing an amazing story, and congrats on hitting the homestretch! It's sad knowing the journey's almost over, but I'm so glad to have been one of many readers apart of the ride, and I'm excited to witness the end. Awesome job! Truly, you've written something phenomenal.

Original Characters in fan fiction tend to be a tricky line to toe, but if you want a stellar example of an OC insert done right, look no further than Then it becomes, it becomes, it becomes a problem by @tempusedax-rerum on ao3. Janet is such a delight to read! From her having to put up with Bill and Stanford's hijinks, to her own self-destructive tendencies, she's incredibly interesting on her own while also greatly aiding the plot and serving as foils for the other two. I love her to bits! The doodle below is based off of Chapter Two. This fic is a fantastic read and I highly recommend it, if you're over 18 and the tags aren't a problem; it's easily my favorite fic I've ever read and I've read a lot of good ones. The author pours so much love and care into every line, every detail, and updates way more frequently then they oughta! I mean, a new chapter almost every week? Gosh, it's spoiling! What are you still doing here, go read this fic!

Feels only fitting that my first piece of fanart on this website is devoted to these two; Undertale was my first fandom, and I got super invested in the AU side of it, obsessing over these two for the entirety of middle school, haha! After years of them rotting my brain and taking up countless sketchbook pages, I can finally share my take on them! Blog Rules!

This post is about updates, content, and behavior. Not gonna lie, they’re more rules for ME than for any of you guys, haha. I would hope that you read everything, but I know I wrote a lot, so just know that the highlighted parts are the key details!

- You can find important info, like this post, through the #GoodToKnow! tag on this blog! - I will try to update at least once every week (I say “try” because it’s incredibly likely I break my own rule and post extra), unless something comes up, which I will try to keep you all informed about. - For a while, expect the art style to change frequently, as a lot of these beginning updates will be posts of old art I’ve been wanting to share for a long while. One week you might get something freshly baked, the next you get the old, musty dusty, stale-and-hard-as-a-rock piece of art from 2 years ago. - I’m a part of a lot of fandoms, and as I post my old art, there’s gonna be a lot of shifts in what kind of content you’re getting. This blog will not be dedicated to one fandom, so while at some point in the future I will be accepting requests (not now though - college applications first), please understand that my interests will jump around, and that I’m not able to draw for one fandom alone for an extensive time period. Sorry if you came for something specific, but I hope you liked what I did have to offer! - Most of my posts will be fan content, but I will occasionally be posting art about the two stories I’m writing (FAQ’s coming on IDunno-uary 74th) and general personal art. Hey there! What’s poppin’? It’s a pleasure to formally join the tumblr scene as a participant, not just an observer.

My name is Snippity Snapped Necc, but you, dear viewers, can call me Snap! I go by they/them pronouns, and I’m 18 years old (Hooray, Adulthood?). I’m a comic artist, writer, and poet - or, at the very least, I’m learning how to be! Kinda working on getting into college right now, actually! As I mentioned earlier, I’m not new to tumblr itself, but I AM new to actually managing an account and posting content. I don’t have any other social media accounts either, so this is pretty much my first go-around as a whole.
