I dont like the take/idea that chloes eevee cant evolve point blank period ill even say i hate it tbh
(This is prolly really messy srryyyy hope it makes sense ill clarify anything if i need to)
Like i dont think the series goes out of its way to tell you her eevee can never evolve, in fact to me it feels like the opposite because of how chloe goes out and meets all of the eeveelutions under the guide of helping eevee find its path, i get that it might just be projection on chloes part and that shes looking for her own path and now she has a proper excuse to go out and try to find it but at the same time i dont think thats the case. even withen the eps about the eevees themselves it feels like its always giving eevee the choice to choose to evolve, theres also the fact that eevee does show intrest in evolving, like in the clefable ep when chloes talking to the glaceon lady she asks if eevee has shown any intrest in evolving and chloe says eevee is and just hasnt made up her mind. And that just feels like a weird thing to have if eevee truly cant evolve, and yk i suppose that they dont really know whats going on so there treating everything like a possiblity but idk i feel like the show itself leans more twords eevee can evolve and is just undecided.
the main reason i can think of off the top of my head of why people just treat her eevee like it cant evolve is because of the scene with her touching the stones, and this is also a part of why i dont really like this take its just such a disgustingly literal interpretation of her eevee when I feel like this isnt ment to be literal yk?
Especially because in the same ep the glaceon lady says "all eevee posses unstable dna from the start, so it may just be this eevees dna is a little bit more unstable than usual, or perhaps it just hasnt found its true path just yet And is feeling a little lost." she does acknowledge its not scientific but its still a possiblity which is smt i think is important because not everything is scientific in the pokemon world you know? Some things are just mysterys/ dont necessarily have a scientific reason for smt happeing if that makes sense?, ethier way that last part is so important to not just understanding eevee but for understanding a big reason for chloe catching her,
Because that last bit of her sentence is what pushes chloe to catch eevee. Thats why i feel its so so important to acknowledge/ take into consideration, Chloe and eevee are ment to be mirrors of eachother (i think thats the word I want?) This scene points it out basicly with a red cricle and loud buzzer that chloe sees herself in eevee potentially not knowing its path in life.
Which would bring me to my next point of why i really dont like the take she cant evolve.
I feel like the take kinda just kinda sad for chloe? Like chloe and eevee are to connected story wise to me that to say eevee does not get a choice in her path is to say the same thing for chloe, that shes stuck where she is and will never find a path in life.Rather then her getting a choice yk? And thats just sad to me when I dont think thats the story at all.
I dont think people who dont believe eevee cant evolve are saying that necessarily at all but it still feels that way to me like even with out them thinking that, eevee not being able to evolve has that implication to me?
or maybe im crazy and chloe and eevee armt as connected her as I feel they are LMAO. Anyways
At the end of the day it is up for interpertation but that doesnt mean I have to like the otherside, no ill will if you do think her eevee cant evolve i just wanted to talk about why i hate the take so much
