🍒 Definition: A darling / darling-ist is someone in a permanent, committed relationship with their Chérie / Chéri. A life style revolving around their lover, a day to day commitment. This is a real relationship purely because of their love & devotion alone, not seen as fictional in any way regardless of if their lover is a fictional character.
Similar to yumes, however it isn’t a yumeship term at all. Do not use it as such. Only bringing up the yumeship to give a better explanation of what a darlingist is. But instead of dream-shipping, the love a Darling had formed itself into a real relationship from their love alone. A darlingist love is a two sided permanent relationship.
The feeling they have is what makes it real and nothing else. This is true, real love, not a dream, not pretend, and not fantasy, which is the main difference between a chérishipper & yumeshipping.
Being a Darling <- devoted to your current/ main reality ( not another reality but your current/ it’s apart of your current reality. )

Labels relating to being a Darlingist:
Sweetheartist - A Darlingist is someone who is fully devoted, a permanent label, while Sweetheartist is someone who is unsure. This can be because their love is new, they’re questioning, just early in the relationship, etc. A Sweetheartist is simply a questioning or early darling !
Chéri - A Chéri / Chérie is the lover of a darling/sweetheart ! This can be a fictional character but it doesn’t have to be. Anything & Anyone can be someone’s Chéri.
Chériship / Chérishipper - A term resembling selfshipping, moreso for those with fictional loves but anyone can use it as long as you have a Chéri.
Rules : 1. This is a permanent commitment that’s fully embedded into one’s life. It can be a private or public practice, but regardless, this is something that should be incorporated into your daily life & apart of your life style by default. 2. Harmful behaviors towards yourself & others is frowned upon/ to not be encouraged in any way. 3. Treat darlings seriously and be patient with sweethearts. This is an extreme commitment and shouldn’t be rushed into anyways. Especially since there is no such thing as an ex-darlingist/ dropping the label (it just means you were never a darlingist begin with)
