“Walther.” His name comes out through a moan.”We can't do this here.” Kristy puts her arm out to keep herself from falling against the wall as Walther presses into her, kissing her shoulder.
“Why not?” Walther's lips graze her neck as he presses into Kristy more, his body demanding more contact.
“Someone might come in here.” Kristy bites her lip, her resolve cracking the more Walther kisses her.
“I just want a little kiss.” He pleads, his kisses begin evolving into nipping her neck.
“This isn't ‘just a little kiss’ and you know it.” Kristy teases him, letting out a deep breath.
“Shhh.” Walther tugs down the top of Kristy's dress. The sound of a belt unbuckling, a zipper unzipping. “Okay, maybe I want more than a kiss.”

Laian has never felt so nervous in his life. It had been a whole year since he last saw anyone he met before his journey to the Far East, he didn’t even bother to see his only living relative yet. Truthfully, he wasn't sure if he would even be able to make an appointment with Azalea– he wasn't even sure if she would remember him. He was just one of many clients she had entertained. He plays with the rope attached to his kimono. He waits as patiently as a young man like him can– keeping his eyes to the ground so the other courtesans don't get any ideas.
“Laian. She's ready for you.” Another courtesan taps him on the shoulder and guides him to the room he was so familiar with a year ago. “It’s been a while since I’ve seen you here…” She makes small talk. He looks around as they wait for the door to open, the bordello looks exactly the same as it did before he left– including the hallway leading to Azalea's room.
Laian feels his heart beating faster than it ever has before. He wishes he could say he didn't know what this feeling was, but through his travels he's learned that no other woman compares to Azalea. His mind tells him exactly what this feeling is, there's no denying it– this is love.
Before he can change his mind, Azalea opens the door to her room. Her eyes grow wide at the sight of the man that disappeared a year ago. “LAIAN?!” She reaches for his arm. “Is it really you?” Tears form in her eyes when her fingers reach his arm and he doesn't slowly disappear as he has so many times in her dreams. He's really back…
“Are you two just gonna stare at each other out here the whole time? Or are you actually gonna go into your room?” The other courtesan teases them, knowing their past. She giggles as she walks off, leaving the two to decide how they'll spend their time.
All it takes is the door closing for Laian to make the first move, taking Azalea into his arms and kissing her passionately. The room fills with the sound of their unspoken love– until finally, in the midst of love making, Laian tells her he loves her. Hours pass before the two part but only so far…
Laian plays with the rings on Azalea's fingers, spinning each one until he reaches her ring finger. “This one's new…” His voice is deep, tired from all their activity.
“It's not new.” Azalea's heart sinks, how could she break it to him that she's married after making love for hours?
“I'm pretty sure it is.” He spins it, unable to move on from the mysterious ring.
“You've been gone for a year…I've gotten a lot of new stuff.” She laughs, trying to hide how nervous she is. She's just thankful that they went with a simpler ring idea rather than a big diamond.
Laian sighs, painfully aware of how much he missed out on while being gone. “I meant it, you know?”
“I know…” Azalea places her hand on his cheek. A soft smile greets him. “I love you too, always have…There hasn't been a day since you left that I haven't thought about you.” The words she's been dying to say for the past year, finally out in the open. The impending doom hits as he once again spins the wedding ring around her finger.
Sensing her unease, Laian brings her hand to his lips and places a soft kiss right on her palm before intertwining his fingers with her. “I'm not going anywhere.” Another kiss, this time placed on her lips. “I'm staying right here no matter what comes our way.” Said between kisses. “I love you.” He breathes into her neck.
Marsh grimaces as he reads over the wedding invitation. “We’re seriously expected to wear pastels?”
“Oh, come on. You’ll survive,” Teya says, plucking it from his hand. “You’d look cute in pastels, actually.”
At Marsh’s entirely disbelieving look, Teya giggles. “You would!”
“You’d say that about anything I wore,” Marsh mutters.
“As if I’m wrong?” Teya says, reaching to pin up the invitation on their board of Important Things, as she's dubbed it. Marsh steps up behind her, wrapping his arms around her middle and resting his chin on her head.
“I suppose I can allow it,” he mumbles. “Just this once.”
“Yeah?” Teya says, folding her arms over his own as she leans back against him. “Not gonna leave me to look all springtime-esque on my lonesome?”
Marsh snorts softly and presses his lips to her hair. “Never.”
marsh is definitely not what you’d call a partier, but a celebration of love? he can get behind that. you might even find him getting (metaphorically) misty eyed during the vows. plus he’ll get the opportunity to dance with me later on, which he’d never turn down <3
A reminder that darker fiction has a right to exist and explore themes that people are uncomfortable with. Yes, even if it's romanticized. Yes, even if you personally don't like it.
Authors have always written about things that they don't agree with morally, and I hope to god they always will, despite how shitty people treat them for doing that now.
Marsh raises an eyebrow as Teya grabs his glass and raises it to her lips for what must be the fifth time. “You do realize that’s bourbon, right?”
“Yeah,” Teya says innocently, setting the glass back down in front of him, a perfect lipstick mark left on the rim.
“I thought you got that thing – “ Marsh gestures towards her cherry cocktail. “ – because you don’t like the taste of alcohol.”
“In small doses, it’s fine,” Teya says, knocking her knee against Marsh’s under the table. “Plus, this has pecan syrup in it! That tastes good.”
“Get one of your own, then,” Marsh says, leaning in a bit, enjoying the way Teya’s eyes glow as she grins at him.
“Nah,” she says easily, resting her chin on her fist, putting them that much closer. She bumps their knees together again. “Tastes better when it’s yours.”
“Is that so,” Marsh says, his voice dry yet undeniably fond. He can’t quite argue with her logic – as he takes a sip himself, his lips cover the same spot Teya’s just were, and he’d swear the drink tastes just a little sweeter than before.

HGNFVGBFHNBG I'M BLUSHING HEHEHE. Funny story: I was actually doing one of those selfship charts and it asks about what animal they would be. AND I LOVE YOU WALTHER, but every time I look at him with his beard all I see is a grumpy little walrus. And it's perfect bc the nation he's from is heavy on the sea animals SO it suits us even more hehehe. He'll forever be my grumpy little walrus. ( •̯́ ₃ •̯̀) But yeah, that's how Walris became Walris. I felt very silly about it at first, but I've very much grown to love it. I hope everyone sees a walrus and thinks of me and the old man hehehe
