Do you want to get rid of fake Facebook fans on your page? This article shows how to sniff out those fake Facebook fans and ban them from your page.
OK, let's start as we mean to go on...
Think before you Tweet/post/update/share
(there's also that story about the councillor who retweeted a spoof of the tory campaign poster - the one with a picture of a road; the spoof replaced the road with an image of the railway lines leading into Auschwitz. The spoof was in bad enough taste, retweeting it was just dim)
Happy New Year!
Each December, digital marketers around the globe take a look back at the trends that shaped (and reshaped) our strategy over the last year. Then we use that insight to plan for and predict the coming year. As the editor of the Simply Measured blog and co-writer of our network studies and reports, this trend-based…
The pundits are starting early with their new year predictions...

Small Business Saturday #SmallBizSatUK
What's all this about then?
Small Business Saturday exists to support, inspire and promote small businesses on the 6th December and beyond
It's supported, but not owned or controlled, by American Express and it's an opportunity for micro- and small businesses to work together and support each other.
Small Business Saturday UK is all about championing small businesses who account for a combined turnover of £3.3 Billion in the UK, who employ 24.3 million people and make up 47% of all private sector employment.
You have got a Twitter account, haven't you? the one with the bird, like this?
and Instagram? the one with the little camera, like this?
OK, you're good to go then
Black Friday to be biggest ever online shopping day in Britain with consumers spending more than £6,000 every second
Black Friday sounds a bit ominous doesn't it?
It's a strange choice of name because Black Tuesday was the day in October 1929 when the US stock exchange crashed and burned, triggering the Great Depression which led, obliquely, to WW2.
Anyway, Black Friday is another american idea which is spreading over here for different reasons, hopefully.
It's the Friday after Thanksgiving, this year November 28th, when american retailers offer bargains, offers and discounts to kick off the christmas shopping frenzy.
As with so many other things american, it's gaining traction here, probably because of Wal Mart-owned ASDA giving it a go, and good luck to them, as long as they pay their taxes...
The reason for mentioning Black Friday in the first place was to give us an excuse to talk about Small Business Saturday, so we'll do that tomorrow.
Same time tomorrow? OK, see you then, then...........

Anyone out there in social media land knows how bloomin' hard it is to find decent pictures to brighten up their blog, Facebook, Twitter, etc, etc, etc
So we were dead chuffed to come across this ...
Is one social network is better than the other to promote your brand? Well, first off it’s important to know exactly where your audience is. Let’s look closely at both #socialmedia promotion possibilities and compare them. #videomarketing #contentmarketing
Traditionally there is a certain way your suit should look and fit. Although some of these principles are timeless, like the fit at your shoulders, waist and chest, the rule book is being torn up b...
What has this got to do with Social Media, I hear you asking...
There's a tendency among meejah types to wear suits with implausibly narrow trousers that are too short and jackets that are far too tight.
We can only assume this is through ignorance or TK Maxx only having limited sizes in stock, surely it can't be intentional?
We bring you this for information so if you wear a suit at least now you'll know how it's supposed to fit, and you won't look like your suit got washed on a hot setting.
You're welcome. (Have a great weekend)
Hello. HELLO. Can EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE HEAR ME?!
So do you train customer service staff on social media, or social media staff on customer services?
what do we think? (also, feel free to share mobile hone operator horror stories, they're always good for a laugh)
Measuring the ROI of Your Social Media Marketing Strategy It’s Social Saturday, again. This week, I want to take you a trip back through time. All the way back to 2009, when I first joined Twitter. At the time, I thought this new social media platform was limited to connecting with others at conferences or...
This is from September, but still relevant......
It all depends on what you you're expecting as your 'R' and what you call your 'I' in the ROI, doesn't it?
If you decide at the outset and stick to that measure then you'll get the right answer.
On the other hand, have you thought about about measuring your ROE, where E = energy, effort & engagement (not MC squared, we're not physicists here)?
Is the return you're getting worth the energy/effort/engagement?
If you want to get really deep and meaningful, is the energy/effort/engagement you invest just another term for 'investment'?
To be honest, we don't know, but what we would say is this:
decide how you're going to measure success and keep to that measure OK?
By fearing the prospect of employees on social media, companies lose a great opportunity to gain marketing lift.
If you want a Social Media Policy give us a shout, we'll either write one for you or help you write one.
