One must picture everything in the world as an enigma, and live in the world as if in a vast museum of strangeness.
Giorgio de Chirico (via wordsnquotes)
Sometimes, people hide not the scariest or the ugliest of them, but the most beautiful and the most gentle.

Monday, the United Kingdom was shocked when Salman Abedi, allegedly acting under the flag of ISIS, detonated a “highly sophisticated” nail bomb at Manchester Arena, killing 22 people, including young children. On Thursday, we’ve learned that Abedi’s friends and relatives reported him to MI5 for being “dangerous” and that he had the potential to be a suicide bomber.
MI5 never acted.
Twenty people are currently in critical condition and dozens of others are currently recovering. Hundreds are grieving the dead, and now we know this could’ve all possibly been prevented.
Abedi was reported to authorities for his terrorist intentions — not once — but twice. According to a report in the Times, his friends and family notified authorities of his terrorist intentions once this year, and once five years ago.
…Believe me when I tell you that everything is temporary. Everything. There’s not a thing in the world that will not change, including you.

A person who has good thoughts cannot ever be ugly. You can have a wonky nose and a crooked mouth and a double chin and stick out teeth, but if you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely.
Roald Dahl, The Witches (via wordsnquotes)
You’re worth a handwritten letter, a random trip at night to the beach, a painting that says more than a thousand words.
Scottie Waves (via wordsnquotes)
No matter where you are, you’re always a bit on your own, always an outsider.

The real test of friendship is: can you literally do nothing with the other person? Can you enjoy those moments of life that are utterly simple?
