Frisk was an abandoned child

We know very little of the past of the fallen humans in Undertale. Even Frisk, the main character of the game, has only little confirmed information about them.

Whilst no official answer has been given regarding their past, there are however a number of clues in the game that seem to point to a certain direction.

Frisk exists as their own individual outside of the player, and in those instances where Frisk acts or talks on their own free will, they leave hints concerning their own personality, likes, dislikes, fears, and what appears to be hints of their past.

Here is something that Frisk asks Gerson on their own after a true pacifist ending.

kris playing with the deck of cards as a kiddo -> eventually stops playing with it -> toriel takes it to school -> king of spades gets ripped by someone -> the entire deck is put away into storage since it cant be used (but isnt tossed Because it can still be used) -> king guilt which is defensively flipped into anger, obsession, and resentment -> the reason why king doesnt Mention kris is bc they arent the one who ripped him so they just slot into the lightner category. he mightve even forgotten any good memories they had together due to the trauma (and the knight) blocking out all of the everything in his head ->->-> king is slowly softening up to us again and the layers of bitterness are peeling away to his goofy og self
