Don't let the past keep you from living in the present and conquering your future. Just keep moving forward. I'm known for having a really loud laugh that you can hear from a mile away, but I don't plan on not laughing anytime soon. I love getting lost in fantasy (I'm a gamer and a reader, what can I say?) but I know what reality is. I adore Zelda, Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, and Castlevania. Zack Fair is at the top of my fictional crushes. Buffy is my life. Spider-man kicks ass. So do the X-Men. I'm a movie junky and a thrill seeker. I'm a happy person who loves to challenge people and ideas, and make the world laugh just a little bit louder. From Alexander the Great, to Pierre Trudeau, to Eleanor Roosevelt, to Mahatma Gandhi, to Napolean Bonaparte, I love history because it's empowering and teaches us so much about the world yesterday, why it is the way it is today, and what we can do for it tomorrow. My dream is to see the northern lights someday. I will ride the tallest, fastest, and longest coasters in the world. I'm in love with Benghal and Siberian tigers. I'm passionate about what I believe in. I've learned that despite everything that happens, bad or good, the best thing to do is just keep moving forward- life goes on and I'm starting to believe more and more each day that so many things happen for a reason, no matter how much they confuse me, hurt me, or amuse me. :)

I need to complain about work for a sec, bare with me.
I’m a Music/Drama/Health/Phys.Ed teacher. I spend my entire weekend putting together colourful, interactive Powerpoints for my 100+ Grade 1 and 2 students, writing step by step instructions, spending hours navigating two different online platforms, recording myself, and then in workshops all week, and practically clinging to my iPad during the day, every day, ready to help and answer questions from families.
I made the mistake of going on social media and read several messages along the line of parents “attempting a few assignments with their child and then giving up,” saying it was anxiety-inducing and would rather just not give their child any school work. That they “don’t want to play teacher.”
SERIOUSLY? That’s your child. You should be helping them offline and online with learning. I know not every teacher is doing as much as they could (my brother in high school showed me an AWFULLY BORING and poorly recorded lesson he had), but holy heck, I stress so much to provide the best I can for the students I miss so dearly.
The worst is that parents say they “don’t want to be a teacher,” but then when teachers do their job, we get told we do it poorly or ask for too much. We can’t win, can we?
I absolutely love that fact that Aang, during this fight, is exactly who he was. He didn’t suddenly become a master, wielding the elements in godly-ways (until the Avatar state). He stuck to his reactive and defensive tactics, slipping up imperfectly. Even when he grabbed the lightning, he strained - something even Zuko didn’t do. It felt so true to his character and it made the fight that much more intense and respected.
1. I hated it. Korra was annoying and thoroughly unlikable throughout the entire series. All the main characters were forgettable and bland, with the exception of some villains. I get it - it was “mature,” darker, more modern, etc etc. But imo, it was too far off from the original charm of the show. Disagree? TRY ME.
2. The best episodes were Beginnings Part 1 & 2. Beautifully showcased, added to the magic of the series, and actually made sense. Disagree? TRY ME.
I love AtLA with all my heart and really, really tried to like LoK. Not my cup of tea.
