random things about Sofia Strange pt. I

She is very smart. She’s 14, and is a junior in high school.

Her music taste is mostly 90s, but she also really loves 60s & 70s music.

She has a pet cat named Petey, who is her protector. He turns into a panther when he senses danger, or when Sofia asks him too.

Sofia was raised in the south, so she has a very thick accent, and has southern manners.

She wants to go to school to become an heart surgeon, and plans to go to Harvard after she graduates high school.

She knows very little magic. All she can do is conjure up fireflies and throw very basic energy blasts.

For me and other people my age who speak out, [it’s like], “Oh my god, her age—wow.” But for my generation, we just always have had the access to these things. I feel like the teens on the Internet are very dedicated to making sure people understand what they’re talking about, so that it’s not just buzzword-y.

Sofia’s father sat her down and told her why he was leaving. It had been a few weeks, and she did her best to protect the sanctum, alongside a few others since she was a novice. She sat at the stairs, waiting for her dad almost every day. And then one day, Levi showed up. Sofia smiled widely, and went over to her, hugging her tightly.

 “Levi! You’re back!” She looked up at her, letting go. “Is everything okay? Is the world safe?”

  Smart girl, she thinks when Sofia comes closer, sitting alongside her. It was selfish to even be here. Clea stares down at the ground then looks to Sofia as she asks about Stephen. She seems him in her already, or maybe she’s just projecting. The queen gives a smile and shakes her head, “No. He’s not evil. He was-” Is “a very good man. His job just attracts danger of all sorts.” We were just recently split, I didn’t even know I was pregnant until I returned to the Dark Dimension to rule. I wasn’t in a place ready to see to him or talk to him without wanting to forget all the reasons I told myself we shouldn’t be together. It wouldn’t work. I needed to be Queen and he needed to be on Earth. It was selfish of me, of us. She wants to tell Sofia all of that, but she doesn’t. It was already to be incredibly selfish to be here. She left Sofia here in the care of her friend because it would be safer.

“It consumes much of his life and I didn’t want either of our dangers to affect you.”

Sofia listened to her mother, nodding her head softly at her words. Was? She heard her say that, and it got her thinking. Was he a bad man? Her heart was all over the place. She just met her mom today, everything was just laid on top of her like a heavy blanket. “Doesen’t your job attract danger? You said you were the queen of the dark dimension. Isn’t that dangerous?”

 Sofia doesen’t mean to bombard her with questions; it was just a very confusing few hours for her. “And.. why come now? You know I’m in my junior year of high school? I’m pretty smart, and if you say my dad is as smart as he is, then that must be where I get it from.” She grins wide. “Aunt Vivi has been very good to me. She taught me how to read, write, be polite. I just.. wish you could’ve done that.”

“Probably not a bad idea. I encourage young people to form their own opinions. Keep the word in mind though, you just might decide it fits.” Tony gave the girl a smile as he took a closer look at the suit. “Nope. That would be incredibly dangerous and probably illegal. Adult size only.”

Sofia nodded her head at what he had to say, thinking to herself about what her dad thought of him. She didn’t think he was arrogant at all. But then again, she had just met him. “I’ll keep it in mind.” She says, her thick southern accent coming out as she spoke. A frown forms at her lips, “Aw, rats. Didn’t you make Peter Parker one? He’s a kid, right? I mean, I’m fourteen, but still..”

“ oh god, hi! “ smiling at the panther, kamala begins to stroke the fur on the top of his head. she looks over at the brunette with amazement in her eyes. although she has met her fair share of superheroes with incredible abilities, she has yet to meet someone who can do that. “ that’s so cool, it’s like that one aladdin scene where jafar turns rajah into a little kitty. does he like being a little cat though? “

sofia smiles at the girl’s excitement, an eager grin on her face as she starts to make the comparison. “ exactly like that! ” sofia giggled lightly, and looked at Petey, who yawned heavily.

 “ he loves it. he realized a few days ago that he could not sit on the windowsill if he was a big cat. so he changed shapes and went back to being little. sometimes he’ll sleep at the foot of my bed as a cat, and sometimes he sleeps as a panther. it depends on how much protection he thinks i might need for that night. he can usually sense when bad things are going to happen. ”

                  sofia was studying in the sanctum’s library, eyes focused on the pages. she should probably be focusing on actual homework, but the young girl was obsessed with learning how to become as amazing as her parents. she looked up when her dad spoke, waiting for him to finish her sentence. she sighed heavily, and looked at him.

                   “ i have about a hundred questions. ” sofia admitted, “ but the biggest one is.. ” she raises a hand and does the motions as displayed in the book, but the portal would not open. a sigh of frustration leaves her lips as she looked at her dad. “ i can’t open a portal. at all. and it’s very frustrating. ”

She whistles for her cat Petey, watching as the black cat came up to her. “He’s really a panther.” With a raise of her hand, she watched as her once small cat turned into a 160 pound sleek black panther. “He’s friendly if you wanna pet him.”

  It’s strange to be called Mom. It’s strange to see hers and Stephen’s daughter in front of her. Clea never had family, never knew family love or a mother’s love. Sofia terrified her in a way she’s never felt, she fear failing her, feared her coming to harm’s way.She didn’t know how to be a mother. “Yes, Sofia?” She questions, “Ask away.”

Sofia sighs softly, looking down at the ground, then back at her. She sits down next to her mom, and looked up at her. “You never told me why you didn’t tell my dad about me.” There is a slight pause, Sofia’s lips pursing. “I know you put me on earth to protect me.. but was my dad evil?”

“Arrogant isn’t a nice word, so I’ll ignore what my dad said. I’ll just say you’re super confident in yourself.” Sofia smiles, and looks over at one of his suits, eyes going wide as she walked to it. “Whoah. This is cool. You got any that are kid sized?”
