“Ehh, once or twice,” Aspen answered, tilting her head as she looked at the pieces. “What kinda screws did we need?” She then asked before continuing to answer. “I’ve gone with my siblings but… my dad did most of the tent building.” 

At Aspen’s question, Winnie began to sift through what was available. “I think these ones?” she held one up for the other to see. “Ah, I see. Shame he’s not here to help us out, huh?” Winnie chuckled softly.

“Now be careful… I don’t want you to burn yourself.” Theo offered up the first one to the blonde as he handed over a stick with a marshmallow on the end of it where they sat in front of the fire. “We don’t do things like this often enough. I love bonfires on the beach, guitar singalongs and barbecue’s with games. I don’t know… it’s just a nice memory, you know?”

“I’ll be fine Theo, seriously,” she laughed with a light shake of her head as he reminded her to be careful around the fire. “We don’t, don’t we?” Winnie admitted, looking at the fire lapping at the logs thoughtfully. While she often correlated the element with the destruction of her own, the blonde always did her best to let go of that when it wasn’t actually causing so much harm. “Did you used to go camping often?” she asked, looking over at him again.

“Wait, wait, stop,” Sofìa started, holding her arm out in front of Winnie to stop her. “Can you hear that?” 

“Hear what?” she asked, trying to catch what Sofia was talking about. “Isn’t that just the wind?” Winnie then questioned when she heard a rustling.

“I think the only people who don’t like smores are people who don’t like to be happy. I mean, tell me it doesn’t make you happy just from the idea of smores!” Lily spoke in response, pulling her marshmallow from the fire to start building hers.  

“Or that can’t eat marshmallows for whatever reason,” she felt the need to point out. “But you’re right too,” Winnie chuckled. She moved to peel the marshmallow she had been roasted off and in between two graham crackers with some chocolate before she took a bite, “Gosh this stuff is so good. It’s criminal.”

“Surfing? I feel like I’ll be dreadful at that,” she admitted. But she knew she had to remain open-minded. “I don’t think you’re scary. I guess I just don’t trust myself. But if you know what you’re doing I’ll let you take me surfing. And if I complain, you have permission to smack me upside the head,” Winnie added with a laugh.
