— Set after the TDWP 1 —
Ten minutes later they arrived to the place: an ice shop that had a few clients inside. Once they entered, they waited in the line.
"What are you having, Em?"
"I'm not having anything."
"We're sharing."
"Absolutely no way."
"Shared carbs doesn’t count. Did you know that?" Andy claim in order to convince her. “We didn’t came downtown so you don’t get any ice cream, please.”
"Why don’t?"
"Well, you came here with me. You could’ve just left me there or send me in the cab, so that means you want ice cream too, right?"
Emily hated how much a perceiver Andy was.
“Ugh, fine!“
"What kind of flavor do you prefer?" The brunette insisted.
"None. You choose."
"Come on, let yourself go for one night."
"No." Emily stayed next to her.
"Next, please" A light brown haired boy called. He was certainly four or five years younger than the girls.
"Hi! How are you?" Andy started a small talk with the boy before ordering.
"Hi! I'm really good. Happy to serve you." The boy answered in an enthusiastically mood.
"Thanks. It's great this place is still open."
"Yeah, midnight ice cream is the best! Isn't it ? Nice dress, by the way. What can I get for you?"
"Yes! Thanks. Can I get a two scoop? Please. Uhm, one of Black Cherry Chip and...Dark Chocolate Fudge on top." Andy said.
Emily snorted, which made Andy turn her gaze towards her. Didn't she like what she ordered?
"Sure! That's a great mix. Anything else I can get for you?...My number, maybe?" The boy added with a flirty smile.
Emily huffed loudly this time. Andrea looked both ways, totally confused.
"Uhm, We're okay. But thank you." Andy stated awkwardly to the boy. He seemed kind, but there was no way she was going to date him, so she reject him nicely.
When he came back with a three scoop ice cream on hand, he said —still a dumb smile on his face— "The extra is on me."
"Oh! Thank you so much. You saved the Ice-Cream Night. Thanks!" That made him smile even more.
Emily decided it was the moment to finish this stupid scene."I'm paying, by the way." She said to Andy, promptly pulled out her credit card, not giving the other girl any chance to protest. "And charge the extra scoop." She commanded to the counter guy sharply.
"Uhm. No, it's oka-"
It took just a glance at him to made him change his mind. "Yes, okay...That would be $12."
The auburn girl nodded and payed.
Unbelievable! Andrea must be such a flirt. Emily thought. She is incredibly charming, and there is no way in the world she isn't self-conscious about it. What kind of rejection ended up with a "You saved the Ice-Cream Night"? I was THE ONE who saved the bloody Ice-Cream Night!
They left the shop and started walking aimlessly, for the first time, close to each other…
