"I have no idea what you're referring to."
“Oh,” Oliver expressed dejectedly, “I- your indoor plants, do you not hear them?”
Sometimes the poor pixie forgot that not everyone could speak with the nature spirits and so, on occasion, would start conversation as though they had heard the conversation with plants and such. Of course, they couldn’t understand and so they were clueless.
“No?” The frustration and confusion and exhaustion were incredibly clear on Júní’s features and in his voice. This wasn’t what he was looking for and he was about to give up on this person just so he could keep moving. “I don’t even have indoor plants? Listen, I hate to be rude, but I really need to get to the capital, are you able to help me?” It was hot here–a lot warmer than his home in Anuipuk–and he was becoming increasingly irritable.
Oliver felt tears rise to his eyes, simply due to the sharpness of the boy’s tone. But he swallowed his negativity and forced on a bright smile. “Yes, sorry, of course,” he began to busy himself by clearing his counter, before setting his hands upon it gently and continuing, “currently, you are in the village of Delalry. You about a good day away in travel unless you have a car, then it will take up to a few hours!” A beat, “there’s dirt tracks around here but soon they should form into some solid roads - just keep following the signs for Belbeliard and that should lead you straight to the city.”
