How Ayanokouji Kiyotaka becomes your best friend
Now in order for this relationship to begin, you both would have to be seated next to each other in class.
You were struggling during math class being unable to comprehend what the teacher was doing on the board. When the teacher leaves a question for the class to do you become panicked since there was a chance the teacher would ask students at random to share their answer with the class.
You could admit that you were dumb. But that didn't meant you wanted to display that information publicly.
You frantically began to scribe down numbers in your notebooks. The teacher had given the class 5 minutes to answer. A minute passed and a couple students such as Horikita, Yukimura and Hirata had already put their pencils down. Meanwhile, you were still stuck on finding the first derivative.
Now that 4 minutes were left you began panicking. You looked around helplessly. No use. It was impossible to catch a glimpse of another student's paper.
The last option you had was to deliberately ask someone. You felt fairly intimidated by the students who sat in front and to the right of you. So then there's left with...
The boy that sat behind you. Ayanokouji Kiyotaka.
You didn't feel as afraid to ask him. He didn't seem like the person to judge you...at least that's the impression you had.
Mustering up all the courage you had, you turned around to face him.
To your surprise, he was gazing forwards with his head resting on his palm. Had he already finished the problem? Or had he given up? You had assumed the latter until you took a glimpse at his paper. It had numerous lines of calculations and a final boxed answer near the bottom.
He had been able to solve the problem within nearly the same timing as Horkita and Yukimura?? You thought to yourself somewhat stunned.
You decided to push your astonishment to the side for now. After all, the current situation was a matter of life or death. At least that's what your sympathetic nervous system was telling you.
Upon making eye contact with the brown haired boy. He slightly lifts his head off of his palm and raises an eyebrow apparently not having expected you to turn around.
For a split second you found yourself simply looking at him with your mouth slightly parted but quickly regained your composure.
"I'm so sorry," you whispered hushedly. "For this question," you pointed to the board, "do you happen to know how to solve it?" You asked.
It wasn't like Ayanokouji could lie even if he wanted to. Since it was clear he had completed the problem in his notebook.
"I managed to get the jist of it from the lesson. However, I'm not entirely sure I got the right answer." He replied, also in a whisper.
Since the both of you were seated at the back of the classroom it was less likely for the teacher at the front of the class to hear the both of you speaking. Despite that, whispering was still the most safe option.
You weren't disappointed at all with his reply. You were just relieved there was a chance that you wouldn't fail this completely. There was less than 3 minutes left.
"That's okay!" you say, "I am so sorry for bothering you but would you mind telling me what I did wrong in this step?" You held you your paper with one hand and pointed at it with the other.
Ayanokouji looked at it for a second and seemingly caught it in an instant.
"First, you should factor the first derivative. This makes finding the second derivative easier." You said pointing at your paper.
"Oh okay!" you say, "I see!" Without wasting a single second you place your paper at the front his desk and begin frantically erasing leaving behind a lot of eraser shavings.
Ayanokouji looked slightly taken aback, albeit unbeknownst to you but he didn't comment.
You were in the zone. The only sight you had in your mind was to complete this problem before the timer ran out. Whist re-attempting the question, Ayanokouji pauses you by placing his hand on your paper.
"Here you need to use the product rule and quotient rule." He points out.
Upon seeing your confuzzled expression he takes his pencil and writes it out for you. "Now all your have to do is expand and factor."
You quickly do as you're told. You had no idea how long you had left but knew it was probably less than 2 minutes. In your panicked state you hadn't realized how during this time period Ayanokouji had shifted closer to you. He observed your every step mentally ensuring that you were on the right track.
"Pencils down!" said the teacher up at the front.
You immediately turn back around on your seat causing your chair to wobble slightly.
"Now who should I ask today?" said the voice of the teacher that haunted your nightmares.
Yukimura raised his hand but the teacher immediately turned him down saying he wants someone different.
He wants to answer so why can't you just pick him. You thought pleadingly to yourself.
"L/N, why don't you share with the class?"
A chime of a bell rang in your head. With your palms swearing, temperature rising and legs shaking you slowing stood up from your seat.
With your notebook hiding your face you say,
"I got e^(2x)(6x + 6x^2 + 4x^3) - 1/x^2, sir."
You were expecting a "nice try" or a "more practice will get you there next time" but instead you heard a,
"Very well done."
Shocked, you plopped back down into your seat in a daze staring off into absolutely nothing.
You were shocked—but relieved. It felt as though all the blood had just rushed out of your face because you were now feeling light headed.
The rest of the period passed by and before you knew it the bell had rung. You hadn't realized lunch had began until people started to get up and leave the classroom.
"You okay?" Someone asked. No, someone asked you.
You turn around and are met with Ayanokouji once again.
"Y-yes." You say flustered. Did your expression make your distress that obvious? Maybe you visibly looked pale, you weren't sure.
"Th-thank you, Ayanokouji-kun." you thank him, "Without you I would have been completely screwed." You tell him earnestly, with the bottom of your heart.
"Don't mention it."
After a small pause you notice he doesn't make any move to get out of his seat. Come to think of it, from the small amount of time you had been attending this school. You hadn't seen Ayanokouji with any specific group of people. Did he not have any friends? At this point in time, most people had already made friends and formed their cliques. Perhaps he prefers being alone?
"Are you not going to get lunch?" You found yourself asking without giving it a second thought.
"Nah, not yet. I prefer going later on once there are less people. I don't enjoy the crowd." Ayanokouji replies.
"I see." You say mostly to yourself.
"How about I get you something? As a thanks for helping me today." You offer, after all he had just saved your dignity.
"I appreciate the offer, but there really is no need. It was no problem. Plus, you did all of the work." He replies, refusing your proposal.
You frown. You didn't want to let this go.
"Please? Just this one? I won't feel good until I do something to repay the favour." You plead.
Upon seeing the expression you were making, Ayanokouji seemed to give out. Perhaps he saw that you really would not back down.
"Well then, alright."
"Yay!" You exclaim happily. "Did you want something from the vending machines? I believe it won't be crowded there." You ask him as you both walk out of the classroom together.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Later on at the vending machine, Ayanokouji takes a good look at the variety of drink choices. He looked rather cute when scanning his eyes over the selection thinking to himself. Alas, he settled upon a strawberry drink that was popular among the girls. Perhaps he was curious and wanted to try one for himself? Or maybe he didn't care much about gender stereotypes. Whatever the reason was, this day was the beginning of your relationship with Ayanokouji Kiyotaka.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The next couple of interactions included you asking him for help in math during class. You felt ashamed each time but failing wasn't an option!
Ayanokouji made sure to mention he didn't mind. But at this point, it was becoming increasingly difficult for him to continue playing his amateur student persona.
This and buying him drinks became a routine for the both of you.
"I'm starting to feel bad about you using so many points on me." Ayanokouji says one day after the both of you grabbed your lunches. This time, he held a milk tea. "You don't have to keep buying me something every time."
"Oh its not a problem. I feel as though I'm unable to repay any other way. It isn't like I can help you back." You reply.
"I get what you're saying, but normally you wouldn't repay back what a friend does for you every time."
After his comment the both of you look at each other for a moment. There was a part of what he said that stood out to you, 'friends.' Ayanokouji immediately looks like he said something he shouldn't have.
"I mean, even if the friends aspect doesn't apply to us the idea still-"
"I'd like to be friends." You cut him off.
"If you also want to be..." you add off after being met with silence.
"If we become friends does that mean you'll stop buying me drinks?" He questions.
"N- Well that just means I'll have to find another way. Something more like what a friend would do..." you ponder to yourself.
"There really is no need." He sighs. Ayanokouji wholeheartedly appreciates your sincerely but he really didn't want you to feel indebted to him. Even if he didn't let it show, his heart was leaping in excitement at this new friendship.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Finding you slumped at your desk after class, Ayanokouji offers to help tutor you. You both decide on the dorms because even though being loud and goofing around were forbidden in the library, people still got away with it to some degree. Plus, this way you could offer to clean his dorm room! Yes, that was the perfect plan. Something that took absolutely no points being spent.
Your dreams were shattered when he invited you in. His room, to say the least, was spotless. And looked unlived him. Even though we were allowed to bring items from home with us, it didn't appear that Ayanokouji had brought anything personal with him at all.
"So, do you clean often?" You ask with a defeated expression.
"Nah, only once in a while."
He began explaining the concepts you went over today in class. And the ones from yesterday...and the day before. Once you both were done it was nearly 7pm.
Exhausted, you sprawl out on the floor. "You're really smart Ayanokouji-kun, have you ever thought about becoming a teacher?" You ask him.
"I haven't thought about it, but I'm honestly not that smart, I just manage to know enough to get by."
"You're too modest." You reply in disbelief.
"You heading out now? Its getting late." He says, not pushing you to leave, but the both of you knew that, even if not explicitly stated in the rules, girls shouldn't stay at a guy's dorm until late at night.
You nodded while thanking him. You reached into your bag and pulled out a single can and handed it out to him.
"What's this? I thought we had agreed to put a stop to this." He says eyeing the drink.
"This is the last one I promise! Plus, its the only one you haven't tried yet." You say smiling. He couldn't reject it, since you're making it clear right now that is was certainly the last time.
"I'm starting to feel like a dog receiving treats." He says while taking the drink.
He waves goodbye to you at the door. He walks over to the nightstand and places the drink on it. He couldn't deny that he curious to try this one. It was watermelon flavour. Over the course of time you had been buying him drinks, he got to taste all kinds of different ones. But his favourite remained the strawberry drink he got with you on the first day with you. I wonder why, he thinks to himself.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A new routine sprouted for the both of you which involved the both of you heading to his room after class. You couldn't bother him everyday so you made sure to keep some days and his weekends free.
Ayanokouji honestly didn't mind. He enjoyed your company more than he thought he would. He found it amusing when you looked so happy when you solved a tricky question that would have taken him mere seconds to solve. You improved rather quickly. Ayanokouji couldn't help but feel a certain feeling of pride in his chest, knowing that he was the cause of it. Furthermore, you were fun to talk to. There were times where the both of you would talk for a whole hour after studying. He never imagined time could pass so quickly while talking.
He once found you dozed off on the zataku table when returning with some more tea. He sat down, deciding against waking you up and takes out his phone instead.
After waking up, you immediately begin apologizing. He says there's no worry. Soon after, you leave saying goodbye.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The following week you don't attend your regular study sessions with Ayanokouji. He finds himself feeling down, like the parts that make his life fun were taken away from him. But you still talked to him in class.
"Are your studies going well?" He asks you one day.
"I feel like I've been improving, I just didn't want to keep bothering you anymore Ayanokouji-kun." You reply.
Your answer made his heart feel a little heavier. Was it dread he was feeling? He was glad you felt better about your academic status of course, but he didn't want that to mean you would be seeing each other less.
"I don't mind. I honestly found it pretty fun." He admits.
"You find tutoring fun?" You question somewhat surprised. You felt as though if it were you, you would find the role pretty bothersome. He's pretty strange, you thought to yourself.
"I mean I don't hate it." He says almost immediately. "Chatting with you afterwards is what I found myself enjoying the most."
He was expressing his honest feelings (without much enthusiasm may you add). However you couldn't help but agree with him. You yourself had come to learn a thing or two about your classmate Ayanokouji Kiyotaka. His favourite season is summer, he likes reading and he's pretty skilled in chess. You could say (with some degree of pride) you knew more about him than you knew about the rest of your classmates.
Even though there was no denying that the two of you have grown closer, you couldn't help but feel some degree of distance between him and yourself. You still called him by his last name after all...
Didn't friends call each other by their given names? Isn't that supposed to represent close friendships? Or did that not apply to boy-girl friendships?
"L/N?" You hear him say. You're brought back to reality realizing that you'd been silent for quite sometime.
"Oh- Haha sorry. What were you saying? O-oh right- I also found it fun." You say managing to stutter only once.
He nods, once. The both of you were heading to the convenience store to try out a new ice cream flavour that happened to cause a craze amongst the students at the ANHS. Unfortunately, when you both got there, they were all out.
"Well that sucks." He says flatly.
"Darn it!" You wail, "I mean its not like this wasn't expected. It does feel like we're the only ones who have yet to try it." You slouch forwards sulking.
"Well since we're here we might as well find something else." He says and you nod.
Popsicle in mouth you walk behind Ayanokouji. The both of you had decided to split one of those two-stick popsicles keeping the purchase to a minimum.
Staring at his back, you wondered whether you should tell him what was on your mind. Ayanokouji was the person you spent most of your time with here at the ANHS. You would even label him as your best friend. You felt shy thinking that. After all, it would be awkward if those feelings weren't mutual.
Still, you felt an undeniable distance between yourself and him when calling him by his family name. Embarrassingly, you really did want to call him by his first. But you didn't want him to think you were weird.
"Ayanokouji-kun." You say.
"Hm?" He says popsicle in mouth.
"I was wondering...with Ike-kun, Sudou-kun or even with Horikita-san, what do call them?" "What do I call them?" He pauses seemingly confused at the question. "Ike, Sudou and Horikita." "I see." You say sounding a little dejected. "Why do you ask?" "All of you seem so close so I assumed that maybe you called them by their first names you know..." "Sudou and Ike happen to, just not me. Why do you ask?" Ayanokouji had a haunch on what you were thinking. "I was just thinking...only if you'd like to..." You trail off feeling embarrassingly shy. You wanted to continue but the heat creeping up your neck was distracting. "You're asking to call me by my first name?" He says for you.
"If that's okay-!" You say quickly.
"I don't see why not."
You couldn't suppress the grin spreading across your face.
"Then, I call you Kiyotaka-kun?"
"That's fine with me."
And with that you give him a huge smile. You catch up to him with a skip in your steps. You explode into chatter. Talking about everything and anything. The unexplainable distance that you had felt earlier diminished as if it was never there. Beside you, Kiyotaka nodded his head.
His heart felt lighter for the first time in the past couple days. In his chest, was a tingling sensation as he thought about the rest of the time he would spend at school alongside you.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Author's note How was the last time I posted in july? Hello everyone! Thank you so much for reading! There wasn't much romance going on here but hopefully you can see the story's meant to hint at it! It was fun writing this story and I intend to produce more in the future! Until next time!

TRIGGER with a reader who has a different oshi
.::.
Tenn Kujo
He found out your oshi is Gaku when the two of you were hanging out in his room, and you asked him to grab something from your bag. He spots the Gaku mon plush, raising an eyebrow and pulling it out, not remembering what he was searching for to begin with once he laid eyes on it.
As to be expected, he questions you about it. Not that he particularly minds yet that you have a mon, he knew that you were a collector but was left in the dark about to what degree exactly.
You jovially respond saying that you have a lot more TRG merch of Gaku than that and the mon is simply the one you like to carry around. Sharp as ever, he catches that you mentioned him in particular.
With an easygoing smile (reserved for only you) he inquires, "so you like to carry Gaku around with you?" Leaving out the 'only Gaku' part.
Being honest with him, you nod, telling him about how it brings you comfort and that you take photos of it when going to diners on your own, showing him a few pictures and gushing about how he's adorable.
'who could think that guy is cute while he's onstage or even in interviews..' Tenn thinks, but knows well to keep that to himself.
You soon explain Gaku has always been your TRG oshi and how you have tons more merch at home, including an ita bag.
If it were any other group, Tenn would never make a fuss out of whoever someone's oshi is. Yes he usually has his own criticisms of idols that he even talks with you about so you're well aware of how he feels about others and their abilities, but he would also never get in between someone's love for their idol. Everything he does is for the fans, after all.
But the fact of it being Gaku nearly sent a chill up his spine, one that you could feel the presence of just going off of the fact he was looking at you with his business smile and not his natural one anymore.
Tenn holds great respect for Gaku as his team member, that much is evident, but his expectation was that his partner's oshi would be himself..
If you're out and spot some Gaku merch you want to get, he'll buy it for you, but that doesn't mean he won't pout at some point while doing so--and he definitely doesn't want him to find out he's your oshi-
You try to remind him of his own flawlessness on stage to make him feel better
Gaku Yaotome
Gaku finds out your oshi is Ryuu in one of the worst ways possible: asking you directly what you liked about one of their performances.
While you did give the other two their due credit, you wouldn't stop gushing over his taller group member's hip swivel and dashing looks. prompting him to tease you about how much you enjoy and that you should tell him these things yourself.
To which you respond that you focus on him so much because he's your favorite member...making Gaku instantly deflate before your eyes.
You're quick to remind him that this is only in terms of how you feel objectively as a fan before you even knew each other-
He responds with a passive sounding 'right..' that you can tell is the prelude to him blowing things out of proportion in his head
And then comes the questions of why exactly Ryuu is your favorite; Was it his ero ero persona? His singing? Did you drink Thunder Dry??
Does he feel some type of way? Yes. Does he dislike that you like his best friend as an idol? Not at all.
Though it can be a bit sus considering the nature of how Ryuu's idol image is portrayed, which is partially why he asks what you like about him.
Of course you could never overstep boundaries and feel such things for your idol regardless, especially when you already have a partner, and telling him that makes him relax a little, even though he totally trusts you
That won't stop him from working out at the gym when he assumes its Ryuu's body build that you like he cant do anything about his height so thats the next best thing
If youre out and you want to grab some Ryuu merch you can practically feel him giving a face that screams 'tsk..' and ends up trying to shill you a plushie of himself to 'pair' with it as if he's the one youre paying-
He always gets over it pretty quickly though and continues to enjoy himself with you. At least youre supporting the group and he and his friends' careers, and thats what matters to him, along with what makes you happy.
Ryuunosuke Tsunashi
For a long while, he doesn't even realize your oshi is Tenn. Whenever you too break into conversation about how great of a job Tenn's doing as the center and in general with his work, Ryuu is always happy to talk about it and compliment his friend.
Even when you have your Tenn mon on hand he gushes with you about how cute he is and especially how it suits how he is in person. Might even be the one to take the picture of you with it.
Then one day when visiting your home, he sees your Tenn oshikatsu shrine and it finally clicks for him.
He isn't really familiar with oshikatsu (all he knows is that people sometimes collects plushies and of course theyre gonna buy EPs, thats what normal fans do, right?) so you have to explain it to him.
Once you reveal that Tenn was your favorite member all along, he isn't really phased by it, he's glad someone is appreciating the hard work his friend is putting in since he's always so serious and deadset on delivering a perfect performance everytime.
He's perfectly okay with your oshikatsu activities and feels good about you doing your best to support Tenn and TRIGGER.
In fact he's so open about it that Tenn himself catches wind of it. Regardless if you wanted him to know or not, Ryuu ends up mentioning the shrine and how he's always up to date on what kind of merch is being sold.
it creeps tenn out a little bit how invested he is but he won't stop him
He even ends up keeping TRG mons of all three of them on a shelf for him to look at.
Its a little embarrassing he feels the need to alert you of how Tenn in particular is doing when they have a job together and what he's doing after that, as if he's some sort of inside scoop journalist rather than you all being friends.
If you're out and see some Tenn merch you want, he's happy to see about it himself as well, sometimes even taking a picture and sending it to their groupchat.
tldr; Ryunosuke still doesn't get jealous easily, and Tenn is cute to him as well so there's no issue or misunderstandings
IDOLiSH7 with a reader who has a different oshi
Izumi Iori
It was extremely easy for Iori to decipher your oshi is Sogo. Not only did he recognize the purple music symbol pin on your bag, but also the subtle expression change once Sogo walked into the dorm giving a greeting when you were with Iori during studying in the living room.
He'll get straight to the point ask something along the lines of 'Y/N, are you a fan of Sogo?"
Once you respond with yes (or no depending on if you're shy) he only gives a dry 'I see..' in response. Its hard to tell whether he doesn't mind or he does mind and is trying to hide it.
He doesn't mind seeing your merch, but feels its for the best to keep this from Sogo as to not embarrass you or tell him without your knowledge if it'd make things awkward.
When you try to talk to him about Sogo's performances (which he's totally not taking mental notes) he responds with rather objective statements as to why he feels Sogo did a good job and was successful at it which makes it a little weird because you want to gush about him and Iori is analyzing-
Nikaido Yamato
Yamato figures out your oshi is Mitsuki when realizing how your timid yet reverent 'fan' behavior whenever he was around while you and he were just relaxing at the dorm
You'd always bashfully wave off trying Mitsuki's cooking yet after finially giving in after his insistence, a wave of praises flew out, almot in a flustered sense, making your boyfriend raise an eyebrow but usually let it go.
Once he was in a good (and teasing) mood and the two of you were having dinner, he leans in ever so slightly, wiggling both eyebrows while recounting how you act around his friend
To which you finally admit to him you have a standee and photobook collection in your room of Mitsuki and you didn't want him to be jealous.
His glasses become lopsided. All he expected was for you to say you liked him, not that you were a merch collecting superfan-
He's never been into collecting things like that, so you can tell he's a little taken aback at first. Makes a joke about how you must be into Mitsuki's youthful looks and spirit rather than his old man attitude.
When you arent around they occasionally banter about Mitsuki 'stealing' you away from him with his idol charm, but its all in good fun.
Izumi Mitsuki
Mitsuki finds out you oshi is Iori when the two of you were talking about him purely by coincidence
Unfortunately, in a way, Mitsuki feels a bit disappointed he isn't your favorite. Not because he thinks he deserves it and the others don't, but because its his brother in particular. He can't help but think about how Iori is a fantastic idol in comparison.
Though, that only lasts in the moment after you tell him. After sitting with it for a day and reminding himself of his own worth and strentghs as an idol and remembering to not take it personally, he feels proud of Iori and hopes you'll continue to support him.
You end up showing your oshikatsu goods collection, having pictures of Iori in frames, keychains and a uchiwa fan.
it ends up becoming a little embarrassing for Iori not because of you, but because of Mitsuki, toting the merch around the dorm and pointing out how cute his younger brother is, even in photos where he's trying to look serious. He enjoys hearing about his jobs regardless, but its a bit easier to keep track of what becomes of the projects Iori is in with you always showing him excitedly.
Yotsuba Tamaki
your oshi is Nagi...and it takes Tamaki forever to figure out.
He's not really aware of what oshikatsu is (despite the irony of him wanting to collect anything king Pudding related) and assumes you buy merch of everyone but only show him Nagi stuff for some reason
When you show him your merch, his reaction typically ranges from 'wooahh Nagichii looks so cool!" to 'oh..cool' depending on what it is
He doesn't really get jealous per se, but sometimes when you've been talking about your merch or watching Nagi's performances, he squints, passively aggressively asking when you're gonna look at his stuff (usually if he's already in a mood)
Will casually out you to Nagi, not seeing it as a big deal since you aren't some creepy stalker fan or anything
Please tell him that you still think his dancing is better than Nagi's, itll make him feel better, he doesn't really care about anything else-
Osaka Sogo
your oshi is Riku, and Sogo can't help but try to guess why that is. Not in an insecure way, but moreso out of curiosity. Then again, Riku is the center, so its not very surprising he has a lot of fans
For a moment he wonders if you wish he'd be more peppy or proactive, but is mature and knows you well enough to figure your romantic interests and idol interests are different (though for a lot of people that tends to overlap, so you can't blame for thinking about it)
Sogo feels happy Riku has such a supportive fan. He himself likes to buy TRIGGER merch and has penlights so he understands how much it must mean to you and won't hold any reservations so you can show your appreciation the way you wish.
Promises not to tell Riku if you don't want him to know, he knows how embarrassing it can be for your oshi to know you're a fan (plus with his group, theres no telling what theyll pull off with that knowledge, having flashbacks of when they surprised him with TRIGGER in their dorm-)
Rokuya Nagi
your oshi is Yamato, and Nagi is elated. It gives him great ammo to tease or be overly dramatic
You and Nagi are very open with each other and you casually drop the info that you have a bunch of Yamato merch during a conversation about him. You and him have a discussion about Yamato's charm points purposely leaving out that somehow Yamato has slight abs and he doesn't
After you first time you reveal this to him, being ever the drama queen, he practically drops to his knees in anguish that he isn't your oshi, questioning how could you resist his handsome face in terms of favoritism as an idol yet not in romance-
Sometimes he still feigns being shot in the heart with an arrow when he hears you bring up his friend with such an adoring tone.
He knows a lot about oshikatsu culture because of his otaku collections (literally just look at his room) and would judge you from that lens before judging you for liking Yamato-
Buys Yamato merch just for the two of you to torment him to embarrassment by holding up uchiwa fans with his face on it and penlights when he gets back to the dorm to surprise him.
Nanase Riku
your oshi is Tamaki, and Riku has a pouty moment, puffing his cheeks that he's not your oshi.
Before just being happy you're supporting the group and his friends. besides he has plenty of fans that have him as an oshi and everyone knows this boys greed is insatiable
He asks questions about why you like Tamaki so much, genuinely wondering...though he will make sure to work on his dancing more just to be sure-
Tries to talk to Tamaki about it in a 'vague' way, or asking some question like 'what would you do if someone we knew was your fan' in a tone literally anyone else would figure he's not being subtle at all or speaking as a hypothetical.
Riku watches DVDs of previous I7 concerts with you, holding your Tamaki fan while you hold the turquoise penlight, cheering and singing along to the song. It becomes something fun for the both of you to do together.
how i7 characters would react to someone flirting with you
characters: sogo, momo, yuki, tenn, yamato
Sogo
Sogo's eyes were scanning the room for your familiar figure. His eyes darkened when he found you. You were slowly backing away from an unknown man. He approached the two of you with a happy "Y/N-san! Who is this?" He spoke politely with a sweet expression on his face. But you could notice the edge in his voice and the tension in his eyebrows. "Y/N-san, do you know this man?" He asks you. At the shake of your head he turns to the stranger, "It was nice to make your acquaintance. However, we must be going." If the flirt continued to protest, Sogo would give him a stare along with an "If you may excuse us." And that was enough for scare them off. Sogo's polite, but scary.
Momo His energy would scare them away Upon seeing you, he would immediately skip towards where you were standing. He surprises you by placing his hands on your shoulders while exclaiming a loud "Y/N-chan!" "Who's this? A friend?" Momo questions looking at the stranger, "Why don't you introduce us!" Momo would go up to the flirt and aggressively start shaking their hand. "I'm Momo! Y/N's darling!" He says brightly before adding, "And you are?" Taken aback, the flirt would excuse themselves. "What a shame, they're gone!" "That would scare of anyone..." you mutter. Yuki Cool, but sharp "My, my, Y/N. What do we have here?" Yuki says, his arm finding its way around your shoulders. He would look the flirt up and down. Enough for them to shift uncomfortably under his gaze. "Having a nice conversation?" Yuki asks, or rather challenges. His tone intimidating. The flirt's smile falters, "I actually just wanted to talk to Y/N-" "Hmm? And why's that?" Yuki interrupts, voice full of fake sweetness, "If it's their heart you're after I'm afraid they have already been spoken for." Yuki's voice, cold, direct and blunt. Tenn Tenn looked at his watch. It had been 10 minutes after you both had planned to meet. No new messages either. Finding it odd, he decided to head off to look for you. "Y/N-san, Hello." He says upon finding you chatting with a person Tenn was sure was not a friend. "Tenn-kun!" You say turning around, relieved to see him. "Sorry for interrupting but Y/N-san and I planned on meeting. I wondered what was taking them so long." He glared at the flirt. "O-oh, we were just-" they started before they were interrupted a second time by Tenn's sharp voice. "Before you take up a person's time you should ask whether they have any to give." He says coldly, "If you can't even have that amount of consideration you don't deserve a conversation." "Tenn- there's not need to be so harsh." You interject, afraid that Tenn's words may offend them. "Y/N-san, let's go. We don't have time for people who lack respect." And with that he grabbed your arm and guided you away. Once far enough, Tenn spoke up. "You shouldn't entertain these type of people." He says to you. Not in a mean way, but expressing that he cares and is worried if something were to happen. "Sorry..." "It's fine." He sighs, "Let's enjoy the night okay?"
Yamato He would overhear the flirt flirting with you. He would enter the conversation laughing loudly, "Ahah, they already has a date." He says, his smile not reaching his eyes. He would wrap his arm around your waist. "Next time, be sure whether a lady is taken or not. It could spare you any...misunderstandings." He says with a gleam in his eyes, "You're lucky I'm so forgiving. This could have ended differently." He says with one last glance at the flirt then turning to you. "Y/N, shall we go?" Yikes, was the threat really necessary?
teasing - aether x reader
how aether would act if he had a crush + a small scenario Aether
He would get nervous. I doubt that it would be very noticeable considering he doesn't speak much generally.
However Paimon would notice it. She would notice his slight change in posture and how his hands linger a little more closer to his body than usual.
He would also get a little more talkative (we're talking two more sentences more talkative).
I feel as though Aether would fall for someone more on the introverted side. Someone calm and composed.
What he was certain of was that he enjoyed your presence and felt his mood lift when he's around you.
You on the other hand, felt silly for even viewing the traveler in that way. You supposed it was fine. He certainly had countless admirers after all. You felt slightly grumpier after having that thought cross your mind.
You loved his golden hair. To you, his beauty was out of this world (like literally). No but seriously you wondered how a person could look so pretty.
On top of that, he was really nice, and gentle.
One day, Charlotte was talking your ear off about the latest "scoop." She had managed to get her hands on. Apparently talking out loud helps her articulate her thoughts. So you let her. You had her completely tuned out anyway. You were zoned out until you heard a gasp escape Charlotte's mouth followed by a "Traveler! Paimon!"
You instinctively turned around to see Paimon happily waving and calling the names of the both of you. You suddenly feel shy when you glance at Aether and he gives you a small smile in return.
Oh you felt like such an idiot.
You quickly directed your gaze onto his traveling companion.
Paimon was the first to speak, "Y/N, Charlote! What brings the both of you here today?"
Charlotte excitedly replies, "I was just telling Y/N on my newest exclusive scoop that will blow the minds of every citizen of Fontaine. If you'd like I could fill you in-"
"Oh god Charlotte please spare us the time," you sigh not wanting to hear her start all over again.
Paimon, who seemingly noticed your lack of enthusiasm speaks up, "Uhh I agree with Y/N. Besides wouldn't that ruin the surprise?"
"Hm, I guess you're right," Charlotte nods, "News should only ever be announced once perfected!"
You really owed Paimon for this once. You mouthed the words "thank you" to her. Paimon gave you a wink in response.
"Sorry Y/N. You'll have to wait to hear the rest of the story like everyone else!" Charlotte said assertively.
"Oh what a shame," you deadpanned.
Your sarcastic comment earned a snicker from Aether. Surprised, you turn your attention back to the golden haired boy for the first time since they arrived. You had a strange feeling that he had been watching you that entire time.
"Yeah, I supposed it is," he says in support to your comment.
You don't know why but you felt slightly humiliated. Like he was teasing you. But the traveler wouldn't do that. Would he?
You didn't realize that you were staring intently at him until Paimon spoke up.
"What is it Y/N? Does the traveler have something on his face? Hope it isn't anything icky...we just got back from commissions! Traveler! Turn around! Let Paimon see!"
"Oh no, sorry. There isn't anything," you say embarrassed, "I was lost in thought."
Why did you feel like you were burning?
Charlotte's sudden squeal saved you from your inner crisis.
"OH MY GOSH! THERE'S THE GUY I'VE BEEN DYING TO GET AN INTERVIEW WITH! Y/N! I NEED YOU TO BE THERE TO TAKE NOTES!"
You quickly said your goodbyes to Aether and Paimon as you were being dragged away by Charlotte.
"You seriously embarrassed Y/N!" was the last thing you heard Paimon say before leaving earshot. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
