"...An alibi? I don't know what ta' tell ya mister, all I was doin' last night was talk to that there Noway in the alley and got some shut eye. Ain't the type ta' go into that voodoo business or the type ta' shed that much, zura."

“…Oh, that’s remindin’ me though. There’s a whole apple bushel’s worth of youkai out there that go around makin’ themselves some real solid  human forms. Mines more like one of them David Copper-fella sort of magic tricks, ain’t nothin’ like the folks who can manage hiding in plain sight though. But maybe there’s one o’ those shiftin’ types wanderin’ ‘round and eating hands. Sheddin’ like a rattlesnake who just went up three sizes… Betcha that windy feller and I could sniff them out, zura.

"...Even if  Miss Alice said she wouldn’t do it, that ain’t much of an answer fer’ why some fabric the color of her dress is hangin' around near the shrine, or why we got a doll of this Togami feller all of a sudden. There ain’t anyone else who could’ve made it, right zura?”

“...Shucks, folks sure like to make a mess of things around here. That ain’t how you leave a dresser at all, zura.” That was really all Komasan could say at the room he peeked into at the ruined apartment complex, spotting the dust covered floors with the occasional human shoeprints on the particularly dirty parts and what looked like a recently ransacked dresser. Clothes tossed this way and that...someone sure must’ve wanted to find something real bad. But as he carefully closes the door as he exits, the yokai suddenly notices a few pieces of paper caught on the side of the house. With writing on them even...! Did Mr. Wind decide to blow them this way? ...It took a real long time to find a big enough rock to use as a stool and grab them, though. Mr. Wind could’ve blown them a little bit closer to the ground. "...You don’t know if ----- ever called you anything. Maybe it was Yuu, or maybe it was just “you”, in the e-d all you knew that he pi-ked you up from the trash and decided to n-v-r let go. Everyone always lo-ked at him oddly when he ta--ed to you, even when he hadn’t went for one of his weirder t--ics of c-nvers-tion. But it wasn’t like he had anyone -lse to talk to as an orp--n. ...The way he spoke to y-u so sincerely, it almost felt like you really were - ---- ------.”  “....Ev-- when they f-oun-- him --- in the sn-w, it took them ---- hours to get his body to let go of you." _______________ "-z-um- named you Akio, after her br-ther who was sent off to the war. Then her p-r-nts sent the two of you off into the country to keep her safe from the -------- air raids, but you were the only one she r-ally p--yed w-th. ….L-oking back, I think she tried to pr-t-nd I was the real A--o, so she could at least have one p--son there for her. “ “...I wish I was ----- then. M-yb- I could h-ve b---n her real --- br-ther."

“...H-Hold on now, what’s with these stories gettin’ depressin’ now all of a sudden, zura?”

Being so close to a dead body was giving Komasan the heebie jeebies, but it just didn’t seem right to just do nothin’ while folks were going around being dead. When this Ryouta feller came back as a ghost, it sure would be a poor greeting to the afterlife to find out folks didn’t do much to find his killer.

..He was still staying far away from the actual body though, instead looking at those trampled flowers he noticed. Looks like  someone had been sitting on them for a long while, right next to the spot where Ryouta’s hand would be if it weren’t bitten off. Shame, they really were nice little flowers too, especially when paired up with the-

“...Say, ain’t these the kind of candles that they use at that there library? The kind that last longer than a turtle race across a bed of molasses, zura.”

“Somethin’ small that looks like a cat, but it’s nothin’ like people have ever seen before? Shucks, ah wonder what that little critter looks like, zura!” Says Komasan, who seems oblivious to the fact he fits that exact description to any supernaturally inclined person able to see past his disguise.

“Hrrm...” There sure was a lot of talk going around about smells, it seemed like. Komasan didn’t know all that much when it came to how humans worked, but from what he heard their noses weren’t all that good. A real shame even, couldn’t even smell as well as a dog...Though thinking about it, Komasan was sort-of, kind-of a dog, wasn’t he?

He takes a deep breath through his nose, starting to sniff at the people around him in the seats. He gets close without any sort of warning, giving most of those watching a clear view of a dark haired boy leaning in and smelling each and every one of the suspects, only stopping once he’s gotten a good whiff of the recently revealed robots.

“...Yep, the two of ya’ll smell fresher and cleaner than a newly powdered baby bottom, zura. Everyone else got the smell of sweat or the forest on ‘em, but the feller with the snake tattoos don’t got much of a scent at all, zura.”

“...Aw shucks, the folks here really are different to the ones back home, zura...”

Now, Komasan didn’t very well mind coming to this town for a visit- even if the place was run down, that country atmosphere was a nice vacation after all the time he spent in the city. But the yokai...sure, there were some different ideas about things everywhere you went, but going around eating humans was just plain old fashioned!

“It’s a real mighty shame, goin’ around all set in eating habits like a wagon wheel stuck in the mud! Ah’ bet that Inu fella would be mighty pleased if he went outta the way to try a curry or somethin’, zura.”

Well this sure was plum-confusin’, finding yourself under a huge tower all of a sudden with a bunch of people you don’t recognize going on about cats and ladybugs like it was the end of the world even. Komasan sure wish he knew what was going on...and that he could see above this here podium he found himself behind.

“Zura...Is this one o’ them game show programs? Ah don’t think Ah got a list of the questions...”

“Zura? Ah’m sorry mister, but I don’t do much pokein’. Prod one thing wrong and you got people yellin at’cha for selectin’ all the floors in elevator.”

“Well...apples are pretty tasty, zura.  I wouldn’t mind havin’ a regular, non-shaky pie with apples innit right now.” That was what Americans were all about, right? Baseball, Ma, and apple pie?

: Komasan

AGE: Unknown, but at least several centuries old. his human disguise looks like he’s a teenager. 

TROPE:  Country Mouse, Book Dumb, Ridiculously Cute Critter

FEARS: Various aspects of modern city living he has not been properly educated about, The deceptive persuasiveness of charming fast food employees. 

ALIGNMENT:  Neutral Good

SPECIES: Yo-kai, specifically a Komainu

SHORT BIO: A naive but good-hearted yokai who grew bored of guarding his shrine, and went to make a new life for himself in the big city with his little brother Komajiro. He’s been on plenty of adventures when it comes to learning about his new home, when he wakes up in Sunny Fields he finds himself mighty right confused.

Though  Sunny Fields looks “real peaceful-like” to the yokai, and he certainly appreciates the hospitality of that miss and mister who’s letting him stay with them, an odd feeling tells him it’s better to keep his form changing leaf on his head for now, making him appear like an ordinary human to most people. Well… as ordinary as Komasan can get when it comes to his personality.

Do you like Sunny Fields? YES/ NO. Why? Sunny Fields looks like a really nice and peaceful place to Komasan, and feels like a good balance between his old country life and his new city life. He is honestly completely oblivious to the fact that there is anything abnormal or scary going on.

Are you trying to leave? YES/NO. Why? As nice as things are here, Komasan doesn’t want to leave his little brother alone for too long. It’s just plum-right not fair that he gets  to enjoy himself when Komajiro must be more worried than a turtle on a pile of lit dynamite!

As for Komasan, unless your muse is directly connect to the supernatural somehow, most people will see him as an ordinary black-haired teenager rather than his real form. However, his real appearance is able to be seen in his reflection. Please protect this pure boy he is so special.

      【!!】”I-I dont think you should have e-eaten that many!”           Heck, Erin wouldn’t even eat one slice, of those pies, but this kid…This kid ate how many whole pies? She wouldn’t have believed it if she hadn’t come across them near the tail end of so-called feast. Even just eating a whole pie she baked herself was quite a feat, but this was a bigger cause for concern.            Erin crouches beside the other, not too close, but not too far off. Her expression says it all as she examines his face from that distance. It didnt look like he was turning blue or anything, so maybe they weren’t poisoned? Then again, what he said in the end there was also troublesome.           “A-Are you okay? D-D’you need me to g-get you anything?” Like a sick bag?

Komasan looks up from his self questioning, eyes locking onto the girl crouching a bit of a ways away. She sure looked real nervous looking at him, it probably wouldn’t be all that nice to let her worry much. “Well much obliged miss, but ah don’t think these are stomach troubles Ah’m havin’ right now...” ...Or at least that wasn’t the major trouble, he definitely feels like he’s eaten meals of ice cream way past equal to the amount of pies he’s had and felt fit as a fiddle after. “Ah got the heebie jeebies shiverin’ up and down me like a snowman in Alaska! The shimmies and shakes!”

“...Ah just don’ wanna be rude, ya see? Pie makin’ sure does take a lotta work ta do, and it’s not like the stuff they gotta fill it with just grows on trees.”

“Zura...I reckon’ I can’t eat another bite of these here pies...” A black haired boy with odd eyes sits against the wall of one of the neighborhood houses, a few empty  pie tins at his feet and looking rather queasy. Of course, such a form was only a disguise to help Komasan fit in around here better, but the yokai beneath still felt just as sick.  Now, he didn’t want to go disrespecting the hospitality of the nice people here, but he sure was having trouble finishing all the pies that they were giving him. It was rude to say, but some of them might not be very good chefs, maybe using some bad butter or somethin’....
