mi child
i’m an... adult. get out.
Groaning a little at the mention of his dark circles, Hanbyul shook his hair down enough to disguise his eyes a little. “Yeah, work drains everyone.” Looking up at her, he let out an amused laugh, pushing his chair back and getting to his feet. “Ah, of course I’m going to pay.” Making his way to the counter, he ordered their coffees before he headed back over and placed her iced latte on the table in front of her. “One iced latte to wake you up.” Grinning as he sat back down on his chair and sipped at his own coffee.
“Apparently, university drains everyone, too.” She was the one who released a groan this time, nose scrunching and forehead creasing in sync, doing so perhaps out of mere habit. Her facial features then started to somewhat relax, as her puckered pair mirrored that of a casual smile, watching him pace towards the counter, his posterior in sight. She sighed in relief once he settled yet again, the pleasant curve on her lips growing even wider upon the tantalizing aroma that the drink gave off. “Thanks, I really needed this.” Taking a few sips of her favorite, she grinned satisfyingly as she put the cup down. “Now that I’ve quenched my thirst, let me ask you this; how have you been? Aside from exhaustion... and the like.”
He pulled the blanket just enough to make his eyes visible as he squinted. Rustling around in the blanket in attempts to be comfortable, he then remembered the other was trying to study and apologized once more. Finally giving in, finding that he couldn’t get himself to nap like he wanted he cleared his throat before hesitantly beginning, “Do you have to study right now?” Now that he knew he wasn’t going to be getting any sleep, he at least wanted company until then.
As if on cue, she averted her gaze from the recent page only to catch a sight of the other rolling against the creased sheets, as though aimlessly trying to find the most comfortable position. His actions made her want to chuckle, or maybe even burst into laughter, but he looked rather frustrated so she decided and managed to suppress the sounds from emitting by means of biting her lower lip. Her eyebrows automatically furrowed upon his inquiry, eyes locked onto his. “Not necessarily. I literally just didn’t know what to do so I attempted to study for a major. Why?”
“Soojung?“ He repeated to himself as if trying to make mental note yet quite unsure of his way of pronunciation. "You’re not from here … right? Are you perhaps Korean?”
“Soojung.” Pursing her lips only to voice out, she repeated the word; her birth name in particular. With a casual smile evident, she executed a nod in response to his question. “I’m Korean, but I was born in Fukuoka.”
She drifts, and sometimes she needs someone to define her, to drag her in, to know her, to bring her back to herself.

“IS IT ENOUGH?”
"Hello, miss." Yamada tipped over for a polite bow, flashing the girl a kind smile once he straightened himself up. "My name is Yamada. It's nice to meet you."
“Hello?” albeit it sounded more like a question than a statement, she greeted the male with a casual smile etched upon her lips along with a quick bob as though to acknowledge his presence. “I go by Soojung. It’s a pleasure meeting you, I guess?”

Kris was kneeling on the ground next to a small bundle of fur, a frown having taken over his features as he tried to figure out whether there was still even just a little bit of life left in the tiny being. When he noticed that - despite being heavily injured - the little dog was still breathing, he was quick to take his scarf off, carefully wrapping the puppy into the piece of fabric before looking around, noticing a female approaching. When she asked him about what happened, the tall male bit down on his bottom lip in an attempt to explain - then again there wasn’t really a lot to explain anyways. “I .. I found it on the side of the street - I guess someone ran it over and left it to die .. do you know where the next vet is? I’m not really familiar with this part of the city, but I feel like this little one deserves a second chance.”
Soojung’s classes ended early today, so she took the time to roam around the vicinity. She would have went to the cinemas or perhaps stayed at the cafe wherein she frequents, but she decided to explore aimlessly, in hopes to free the negativity away. Doing such somewhat helped though, because whenever she’s alone, or just even in a deserted place, she tends to overthink which is no good for her. Her eyes get locked on each passerby as though judging in disdain, a habit of hers that she always wanted to eliminate. Just when she was about to halt and rest on one of the sidewalk benches, someone and something catches her attention: a man cradling a helpless puppy in his arms. Without further ado, she approaches them and inquires ever so immediately, and as the male explained, she couldn’t help but frown -- one that seemed to mirror the curve etched on his pair, as she always had a soft spot for tiny animals. “A hit and run? That’s so inhumane!” she pauses, realizing how quite funny that sounded. “I mean... sure, that cute thing’s an animal but still... Okay, anyway, I could lead you the way. It’s like, a block away from here.”
He quickly put the drink down once he saw the name. Seunghyun apologized again, but it wasn’t like he could refill her drink right at this moment. All he could do was pay for another drink for now. Taking his drink Seunghyun offered it to her, “You can have my drink for now if you’d like. I’ll pay for your drink.” He wasn’t sure if she was going to take it quite honestly, but it would only be polite for him to offer his drink to her since he stole her drink. Seunghyun honestly didn’t feel that bad about drinking her drink, but he knew normal human behavior and it would seem strange if he didn’t apologize and behave in this way. He didn’t want to be obvious and give away that there was something wrong with him. Even though he knew that he was a sociopath he wasn’t going to show the world that he was one. Of course he had diagnosed himself a few years back as one and never went to a psychologist, but he’s been fine so far. He can function in normal society and hasn’t done anything to really give it away. He likes to think that he’s pretty good at being normal. “What drink did you have so I can go order it for you?”
She was no longer looking. She stared at him instead that it was as if he grew another head. Soojung’s gaze was locked onto his, as though analyzing his facial features, particularly his expression. There was nothing wrong aside from the fact that he sounded insincere despite the polite gesture. But nothing could always be something, and something could lead to anything -- one of the many concepts she learned during freshmen; and one which she would never forget. Truth be told, she was not at all upset about the minimal conflict caused by the other. If this was somebody else, perhaps, by now, she would have flashed her infamous deadpan look and might as well screamed at how half witted that person is. But this was a different case, and he was different -- at least that’s what her vision had pointed out over time. And so not wanting to seem so odd, she averts her attention from his frame and just focuses onto the menu only to hint that she was right about to attend to the man’s inquiry. Brushing her fingers through brunette locks, scrunching her nose; merely doing both out of habit, she responds, “It’s not necessary for you to order a new drink. I could just take yours. I mean, the original one...” she pauses, allowing the dead air to take over though a split second after, she voices out once agian. “But if you insist, I had an iced espresso.”

[An excerpt from Ezra’s Journal Entry - *one day to be published]October 31, 2015 -
Remember the other day when I wrote about my “incident” with a middle-aged woman. How she sat me down on one of the benches and gave me an extensive, unnecessary lecture about how drunken behaviors will lead me nowhere in life? How I should get my act together or else I’ll never find a girl and raise a child of my own? Well, to “teach me a lesson”, she forced me to help her out with something. I had supposedly ruined the day for her, so now the task was on me.
And so, I’m at this stupid booth all by myself, waiting for my partner. Supposedly she’s young and pretty, but what do I care? I need to get out of this place as soon as possible before I go on a rampage. It’s for a donation - I don’t even know what this organization is for or what its called. All I know is by the end of the day, my partner and I need to obtain 500 signatures of people willing to donate to the third world countries. But looking around at the deserted area, the task is impossible, especially with other charity stations offering food and different services. Because right now, we only have an obnoxious poster behind my seat, brochures scattered on the table, one speaker, and two clipboards. How old fashion.
Ah, and my partner has arrived. She seems…friendly. I give her a quick smile before I resume my attention back at the empty clipboard. Even if she’s friendly, I’m not a friendly guy. It is awkward and stays awkward for a good hour. She tries to exchange a few conversations with me because she’s a nice girl, but I give her the cold shoulder. Because if we were to become “friends”, she would be in danger. I would end up craving her blood - and well, her innocence would be taken away by a monster.
However, the event is slow and she looks exhausted. I grab the speaker and offer a free kiss for every signature, a makeout session if the female is hot, and possibly a kiss from my partner if she finds me attractive. I gave her a quick smirk and like that, our event becomes a huge hit.
Now, I’m not psychic, so I don’t know how this event will end, but one thing for sure, I have succeeded. My partner will be able to catch up on her sleep, and right now, I envision her beautiful smile while waving at me goodbye and telling me what a smart and awesome guy I am. Okay, so maybe her smile is attractive, maybe her personality isn’t that bad - but hey, humans are human, right? And in my dictionary humans are all monsters.
But who knows, maybe she can be another friend who changes my perspective. Though right now, I’ll settle with - “she thinks I’m a cool person to be around.” We made a good team together; I’ll update more about our new friendship in the near future, if of course, she thinks I’m cool. If not, well, we’ll see –
