Meet the Creatures
For the sky, land, sea, and spirits, there is one creature in particular that is well known and feared.
Sky: The Towering Dragon
It is the only dragon known to be left alive. As its name implies, it is of a massive size, about a small mountain. It has two curved horns on top of its head, spikes going all the way down its spine, including some on the tip of his wings. It has a long whip-like tail and razor sharp teeth and claws. It can breathe seemingly endless fire. It hibernates for long periods of time. It will hide away in its den - that has never been located, so many assume it is somewhere under the sea - and sleep for decades at a time. When it wakes, it is hungry and temperamental. It causes mass devastation and ends up killing more than it actually eats. It takes a long time to recover after its appearance, but at least he tends to not go to the same area twice in a row.
Land: Ulvanen
While he is called a giant spirit wolf, he is really just a mysterious creature who has the ability to pass between the physical world and the parallel one, aka the dream world. He is roughly the size of a horse, is old and wise, and has a coat that can camouflage to his surroundings completely, if he so chooses. His eyes are typically a golden jewel color, save for when he is hunting or hungry, then they turn to a blood red. He is highly intelligent and is more likely to be a sage tutor than a vicious beast, but no mortal truly trusts him.
Sea: Nevodï
No one is truly certain what it looks like. There are all forms of interpretation, but after this long of not knowing about it, no one really wants to know, deep down. All that is known is as follows: it appears only at night. It will appear as a small child that is drowning or adrift at sea. When someone jumps in to save what they believe is a child, the child will disappear under the water. The would-be rescuers are then dragged under, never to be seen again. Because of this, it is believed to be incredibly unlucky to have a child on board a ship. Many real people have drowned at sea, because few will jump into the waters to save them for fear of the Nevodï.
Spirits: Banshee
She herself is not dangerous. She only appears before either a single person or a group and gives off a horrific shriek. All that is certain is that at least one of the people present will die within six months. She will appear as women of a large variety. Some are young, some are old, some are fair-skinned, some are riddled with scars like warriors. All that is the same is that she is clad in a red dress and red cloak with her face hidden. She does not appear before each person that is meant to die. It is uncertain as to what circumstances are required for her to make an appearance.
