The sinopsis for what we’ve got so far is this:

Three friends wake up in a whole different world, not knowing a thing on how they go there and how to get out, figuring out themselves and discovering more about this magical world, they’ll try to remember what their life was before entering the world and figure a way back home.

Hello! In case you didn't know this is the official account of the Not Official True Colors The Musical! (Abbreviated as TCTM) if you want to find us elsewhere check the pinned post of this tumblr account!

Anyways, today we have an interview with Mars, our voice actor for Lady Olivia in TCTM! It was conducted through Discord, so please excuse any spelling mistakes I missed in the copy and pasting I did.

Me: So let's start off with what you do, what is your preffered name online, and what are your pronouns?

Mars: Alright! My name is Mars, my pronouns are he/they and I’m Lady Olivia’s VA in True Colors: The Musical ^^

Me: What was the process of auditioning like?

Mars: It was really fun actually! A bit nerve wrecking. We were supposed to send Zul (person who runs the account here, Zul is the person who basically leads TCTM, came up with the concept of turning True Colors into a musical, and basically runs the whole thing) a recording of us saying lines of the characters, I wanted my audition to be as perfect as possible, I ended up recording the same three lines more than 10 times 😅

Me: What lines did you use?, if you remember.

Mars: Ohhh yes i do remember! Of course I had to use the iconic “If you’ll excuse me I’ll be in the kitchen drinking… juice.” line and two more lines (“the king sends his greetings Marcy, he trusts you have succeeded”, and “this city is rich in history and splendour, please don’t touch anything that looks important… do enjoy your stay.”)

Me: Did you audition for any characters other than Olivia?

Mars: Actually, I was also aiming for Anne and maybe Yunan, though I didn’t audition for Yunan and only settled to audition for Anne and Lady Olivia.

Me: Are you glad you got the role of Lady Olivia?

Mars: I totally am! Even though I wanted to get Anne, I’m really glad I got Lady Olivia! She’s my favourite character after all ^^

Me: Have you read any of the song lyrics or heard any demo's? If so, are you excited to sing these songs?

Mars: I actually have done both! As well as doing and writing a demo myself ^^ I am definitely really excited to sing all of them.

The Issue with the TOH fandom

OKAY-- BEFORE YOU START AIMING YOUR WEAPONS AT ME-- I have my reasons, and understand that this post is not meant to criticize the TOH fandom or anything like that.

The Owl House is a GREAT series, like really, absolutely amazing, for only having one season and just starting up it's second. And as we all are aware of it, The Owl House has always over-shadowed Amphibia, so The Owl House is not underrated, what's underrated about this series is its lore.

Now-- don't get me wrong, of course there are people who are really interested in the lore and even decipher the secret codes that are hidden, etc. But if you really look at the fandom in general, almost all they were interested is on Lumity, (I don't blame them, I love Lumity too, but the series is not called The Lumity Show)

I'm not saying you stop caring about Lumity, but also remember that Amity's only feature of her personality is not only about being lesbian, or Luz's just being oblivious, and remember that TOH is from Disney, there is the option of Lumity not being canon, don't get mad at Dana, cause it's not gonna be her fault, we know how Disney is.

And if Lumity doesn't get enough protagonism, don't get mad too, Dana already said that Lumity is not the focus of the show.

Like I said before, I'm not saying you stop liking Lumity, but being aware that the show is not all about it.

I agree! I know this is a little late since the first half of season two had finished up already, but I think this point has since been AMPLIFIED after we finally got the confession. Sometimes people tend to fixate on any aspect of Lumity even when other characters and their character development/progression is front and center (COUGH COUGH GUS). Sometimes people also simplify Luz and Amity as characters, and as much as I love Amity, I was REALLY happy when she went on an adventure WITHOUT Luz, even if her main motivation WAS for her girlfriend. Amity is her own character with her own goals and flaws and personality traits, and as much as I love gay panicking like everyone else, those characteristics fell off a bit. Luz is the same in that she’s MORE than someone who is JUST constantly cheerful and oblivious. She’s stuck away from home and she’s wondering about her future, and she’s creating a new found family. She has relationships with other characters, but people sometimes overlook this.

Am I going to continue to answer this post after I saw s2 and this post is a bit old? Yes, Yes I am.

You are right in every aspect. My Tumblr and Instagram are filled with Amphibia and TOH posts, and now, I'm not going to be comparing these fandoms, that's not my intention, but while the Amphibia posts are a combo between shipping (Sashannarcy, Marcanne, Sashanne, Sasharcy, Sprivy...) and theories (newest episodes, the secret codes, talking about Anne's parents, the new characters, foreshadowing...), the TOH posts are always the same (at least for me) Hunter needs therapy, Luz x Amity, Eda x Raine, Luz being Bi, Amity being lesbian, thanking Hooty for Lumity (you should also thank him for King's powers-).

I was also a bit angry that not everyone was focused enough on Gus, and some more lore for the Galderstones, and illusion magic. Yes, there we're lore episodes like (Echoes of the Past, Hunting Palisman, Eda's Requiem...) at least 99% of the episodes had lore, but most of them were overshadowed by Knock Knock Knocking on Hooty's Door, mostly because of Lumity, and Through the Looking Glass ruins, overshadowing Gus once again. But like I said before, I don't hate you for liking Lumity, I like it too, but there's going to be a moment where talking too much about it will eventually make me dislike the ship like it happened with Adrinette (Miraculous Ladybug), I'm going to start disliking it, trying to find it's flaws, find a reason it's bad when they are stupid reasons (not with Adrinette, there's a lot of things wrong there I will elaborate in another post-).

In conclusion, I hope that in the next half of season two people can start focusing on other characters rather than just Amity and Luz.

The show mais theme, just like with Amphibia is the found family and friends, but, unlike Amphibia, its Also thouch the theme of disability, in a way.

You're right!

I mean I've been in the Amphibia fandom for at least almost a year, and even though there isn't any signs of any romantic feelings (only exception being Privy and maybe Hop Pop and Sylvia) Amphibia is mainly focused on toxic friendships and how to move on (in this case with Anne, Sasha and Marcy) and I get that people ship them (I do to >w<) but obviously that's not what Matt is going with, he already established throughout the series that its all about this chaotic friendship the three poor girls have.
