☼ - Vadim’s reply is a soft laugh, reaching out to run his fingers through Blaine’s short hair. “If you’re sure, love. It would be greatly appreciated. I’m quite hungry. It’s been a long day.”
He presses his forehead to Blaine’s, breathing in his scent and soaking in his presence. It’s been a long day, and he’s barely seen Blaine through it. To be home with his love now makes all the hard work worth it. His love and his daughter are what keeps him going, and he doesn’t know what he’d do without them.
“Of that I have no doubt. Try as she might, Zufash tires easily at her age. I’ll be sure to make her breakfast when she wakes up. That is, if she doesn’t wake us up by crawling in bed with us again,” he replies with a soft smile.
He looks down at his robes with a frown. He really wants to get out of these robes. They’re quite constricting and heavy. Perhaps he’ll change when Blaine is cooking. “If you say so.” But he can’t help the giggle that escapes him when Blaine pulls him in for a proper kiss, kissing him back eagerly and cupping his cheek with a feather light touch.
Vadim allows Blaine to pull him up to stand with him, smiling softly. “Alright. Do you mind if I change out of these robes while you start? I’ll be right back.” He may as well just change into his pajamas, at this rate. With how tired Blaine is, and, admittedly, how tired he is, they’ll probably be going right to bed after this.
Blaine can’t say he minds this. Any of it. Although, he hates that Vadim has had a less than perfect day. He can tell in the way he knits his brow and sighs, but he always seems more affection when he’s like this as well. That or perhaps Blaine just notices it more.
Blaine smiles at the though while he plunders the kitchen for ingredients and dishes. He never thought he’d get this, and he certainly never thought he’d love a child as much as he adores Zufash.
It’s odd to think of her as his daughter when she is certainly Vadim’s. Calling her his feels like pulling at the bond between Vadim and her. There’s room for him; Blaine knows. There is also something a bit terrifying about calling her his as well, but Blaine won’t pretend like having her in his life isn’t a joy. Knowing them both has brought nothing but love and joy to him.
“You know I hardly mind.” Blaine grins, rubbing Vadim’s hands.
His hands linger on Vadim’s as he forces himself to pull away. It’s moments like this that make everything easy to forget. No darkness or consensus or war. It’s just the two of them. Blaine hopes every guardian gets moments like this. It is easy to forget what makes them strong without them.
Blaine teases, watching Vadim wonder back toward their bedroom. “My only regret is not stripping you myself.”
