Soleria is a main sequence star, about the size of our sun, with 6 planets that orbit it. (IMPORTANT NOTE: no names are set in stone. I suck at naming things and so all of the planet names are mashups of words. Please let me know if something is wrong with my naming or if you have any ideas/suggestions!)

Ronel and Ninva are sister planets who orbit both Soleria and each other. Both are terrestrial planets, however host no life. Ronel is a rocky planet with copper deposits. Ninva is slightly smaller than Ronel and is mainly composed of iron. They complete an orbit around Soleria in about 16 earth days. No moons orbit either planet, as Soleria melted any possible satellites.
Xhanu is the ‘second’ planet from Sole. It is bigger than both Ronel and Ninva (about the size of Mars) and significantly heavier. Xhanu is rich in metals and has a thick, gaseous atmosphere composed of sulfur and carbon dioxide. Though Xhanu is still near to Soleria, its orbit takes about 178 earth days. It has two moons, currently unnamed.
Giaina is the ‘earth’ of the Sole System. It is slightly smaller than earth, but has rich oceans and landmasses. Giaina sustains a great deal of life, including humans (more on this later!) and other “dnd” races. Giaina has one moon, Alunei, which is home to Cressida (again, more on her later). Giaina takes 398.3 days to orbit Soleria.
Next is Ursyan, the largest planet in the Sole System. Like Giaina, Ursyan can sustain life, however there are no notable intelligent organisms at the moment. Ursyan is similar to Mars in composition, with red sand and rock. However, Ursyan has oceans of water (along with another element, making it heavy water and have different shades and hues of blue). Ursyan has 12 moons.
Finally, Malein is the planet furthest from Soleria. Not much is known about this planet due to its distance. It is assumed that underneath its dense atmosphere, the planet is composed of rock and ice. Malein is incredibly small, smaller than Ronel but bigger than Ninva. Two red moons circle Malein.
Soleria is approximately 26.9 light years from our Sun. The closest star system to Sole is called Cavinel A.

I always find it easier to make bulleted lists of information instead of paragraphs...
Our story follows Cressida, a Unisitara (Uni-sit-arrra) from the far away planet Astnu (Ast-new). Unisitara are humanoid/elflike figures who possess unicorn-like horns. most have one horn. the more powerful a Unisitara is, the more curved their horn is. the most powerful Unisitara are a group of incredibly powerful sorcerers called the Council. Senior Council members begin to develop a second horn, which then form a halo shape as they use more power. the eldest and most powerful Council member is a Unisitara aged over 2,000 years (most Unisitara live until 1,000); this individual is the Sovereign and rules over both the Unisitara, Astnu, Astnu's sister planet Dorcas, and several other star systems.
The Sovereign is regaled as a god. His power is immense. he can get into other's heads, see into the future/has prophetic visions, manipulate the time and space around him (thus keeping his body relatively young), among other things. He uses his powers for evil. The Sovereign strives to conquer his entire galaxy with the help of an incredibly strong Council and also a large and aggressive army.
the Council's insignia is a a horn and a sword, to represent magic and the blade.
Unisitara age similarly to elves; due to Astnu's size and mass, a single orbit around their star is about four (4) earth years.
from 0 to 12 all children are taught basic magic. this is like elementary school.
13 to 16. This is usually when magic skill begins developing. Students are separated into groups depending on their emerging powers.
16 to 19. Most students will end up in a normal ‘high school’ type place, however the strongest emergent magic users are sent to private schools to hone their skills. Cress was sent to one of these schools.
20 - 25: Students from private magic schools are further separated into groups; the council hand selects students to join a college of sorcery.
Her species is a people made of stardust, who can wield magic by channeling it through their horns.
Her people, being made of stardust, appear in bright blues and purples with flowing, nebula-like hair
cress is significantly less vibrant than she once was (later)
her species has long unicorn/lion-like tails. people style them just like they style hair. military members tend to keep their head hair and their tail hair relatively short and in braids/tight hairstyles.
hair is very important to the leading religion in her species. hair, for women, can only be trimmed once a year, and only an inch or two (men can have shorter hair, but not anything more than like a shag?),
when you are banished/guilty for treason, they shave your head completely. it is a punishment.
some nonreligious extremists will give themselves buzzcut or go bald, as protest
the council's colors were primarily white and red (to contrast the blues/purples). banished people are forced to wear dark colors
when Cressida is banished from Astnu, a Council member and a 'firing squad' escorted her to a planet several lightyears away (Unisitara have space travel ships, but Council members are able to 'walk' and travel in space freely. don't ask me how or why yet
Cress wandered for several years until she came across Soleria (Sol-air-eya) and its occupants
Each of the 6 planets in the Sole (Sol-ay) System are 'protected' by a Guardian being. These are powerful entities who assign themselves to defending their star system from the Sovereign and Unisitaran army. (think she-ra princesses of power and the battles between the princesses and the horde.) the Guardians had been disbanded and working alone for hundreds of years, and it takes Cressida showing up for them to start working together again. this makes the Guardians much more powerful
Soleil (Sol-ale) is a celestial being who lives in the sun. They kind of stay out of the fighting due to having incredibly destructive powers. Also, they cannot get too far from Soleria, lest they get too cold.
Giaina (Gee-aia-na) is the planet most similar to Earth, and even houses humans. This is because the earth began to heat to the point of all water-based life eventually dying. This happens by 2130. Humans, determined to survive, begin searching even harder for planets that can sustain life. They found Giaina several lightyears away and sent a large ship with about 500 humans on board, just to evaluate the life. They found Giaina to hold life incredibly similar to earth, but with different humanoid lifeforms including tieflings, orcs, dwarves, goblins, other dnd races, etc. However, the human's spaceship burnt up completely upon entering the atmosphere, leaving them with no way to communicate back to earth and ~350 people left. after humans began to adjust to the new world, which had advanced to around 1840s technology (electricity is a thing and plumping exists but is rudimentary still).
So, compared to Giainan native, there are far less humans (and anything else that survived the spacecraft crash, including a few cats and dogs and plants).
the idea is that Earth and Giaina life evolved from the same things and, because their planets were so similar, a lot of the organisms evolved similarly
There are countries within Giaina, with wars and trading and economies. there are pirates (Aravine is one of the most infamous pirates) and kingdoms and religions. different religions from Unisitara). One of the religions focuses on worship of the 'sun god', Soleil. another worships Giaina and her Guardian (currently uncreated and unnamed). another major religion is called Cheecharian, in which people worship and all-powerful goat god named Cheech. finally, when Cress showed up and was seen both on earth and on the moon, a kingdom began to worship her to the point of becoming a cult. cress doesn't really mind it, as some of her vibrance returned because of it. one of these cult members is a 'drow' elf named Io, who is dating Aravine.
cress settles on Alunei, the moon that orbits Giaina. the friendship formed between Giaina's Guardian and Cress is what jumpstarts the 'gathering of the Guardians'

hi!! I did it I made a new blog for my ocs, art, and world building! I’m so excited for this passion project of mine and to flesh it out! @solar-system-sirius is the blog where, if you can guess, I’m making a solar system for my ocs!
this was all kickstarted by my oc Cressida (she’s waving hi btw). I created Cress about three months ago (late February) and she has. Almost 50 pieces of art in her toyhouse already. Erm.
Cress has a ton of lore in connecting to her, and, to connect several of my other characters, I wanted to create a story. this may eventually turn into a comic or something, we shall see. ANYWAY. Cress, the Guardians of Soleria, and even more will be introduced (probably slowly? maybe?) on solar-system-sirius!
