War. War never changes. In 2253, the great Two-Headed Bear gave birth to its first cub: The Confederation of Nevada. The union of California-friendly city-states and tribes was the product of a long and grueling campaign, started by Tibbett and ended by Peterson, to bring law to the streets of New Reno and wipe out the Jackal threat in the North.

Under the surface, Carson was more rotten than Shady Sands. Though the New Reno crime families stopped killing one another on Virgin Street, they instead carved up the Nevada House of Representatives as their new battleground. Not only was the government corrupt, but as the needs of the NCR grew, they started exploiting their puppet state, forcing the CON into a series of unequal trade deals that bled the land dry and turned the Nevadan people into glorified serfs for Californian barons. Tired of government corruption and California’s boot, the people struck back. In 2268, a band of freedom fighters formed the Nevadan Liberation Army. With the eastern territories ravaged by the 80s, and apathetic politicians in Congress refusing to protect them, the NLA found fertile ground. They won victory after victory against a crumbling Carson government that was still too proud to beg the NCR for help.

In 2271, General Blaine Kefauver of the Nevadan Territorial Army had seen enough. He gathered a band of loyal men and officers and led a military coup, declaring the past government unfit to protect its people. The new military dictator of the CON petitioned California for military support. Peterson obliged, fearing the end of California's steady supply of metals following a rebel victory

At first, it was a handful of military advisors and ranger platoons. Then in the Summer of 2272, he got congressional approval for a massive troop surge, aiming to end the war for once and for all. One of the units deployed is the 2nd Infantry Regiment, a volatile mix of new recruits and officers led by veterans of the brutal Navarro Campaign.

The old want another victory to bolster the unit's reputation. The young want to make their predecessors proud. They're all willing to kill whoever it takes to get there.
