elisheva biernoff's work is crazyyy. she buys old photographs from thrift stores/ebay/etc and then recreates them as to-scale paintings, front and back. if there are timestamps or handwritten notes, she paints those, too. i was utterly gobsmacked when i first saw her work and realized they were paintings and not legitimate vintage photographs. some examples:
