“This is all we have left.”
[ Sigmund wasn’t about to make demands or request to a King. ]
[ Just what right did he have? The Adventurer had already collected his payment for his troubles, so even if he did decide to walk away, leave and take his businesses elsewhere, no one would truly blame him. After all, that was what he was - a man who sold his skills for money, but even so... he couldn’t exactly bring himself to walk away. Not when he could do something. He didn’t carry the responsibility like a king, nor did he have any duties for her people. Many would question his decision for staying in the first place, even call him either fool-hardy, perhaps even arrogant, but.... ]
[ He refused to accept this outcome. ]
[ With the toothpick being spun around his fingers, the man simply decided to decline the payment. With what seemed to be a gentle push, he returned the money back to the King’s attendant and began to walk past her with a smile creasing across his features. As the battle against the one-eyed monstrosity raged on before him with men and women being tossed around left and right against its frothing rampage, the raven-haired man tossed aside the coat loosely hanging over on his shoulders. ]
“Consider this a service. Leave it to me,”
[ The cyclopean creature, titanic in size and towered over all things that stood before it, took notice of its new challenger curdled forth a dreadfully ear-shattering roar that would send any normal men and women fleeing for their lives. As the soldiers ran, the lone man stepped forward - his lilac eyes seemingly glowing like a furnace, almost as though there was something burning within the very depths of his soul. With one step after another, his seemingly heavy steps began to pick up in pace - and immediately, he launched himself forward towards the creature. Anyone would see that the creature would most likely crush him before he even made a knick to its hide, but what happened thereafter was a complete opposite of what most would have thought to see. ]
[ As soon as its immense trunk of an arm came swinging down all with an intent to crush the tiny human, Sigmund took off from the ground and swung his gunblade towards the monstrosity’s limb. The explosion, almost akin to that of artillery going off rang through the pathway of the canyon followed by a great burst of flames that engulfed both the man and the creature’s fist. The result was atrocious. The silver blade tore, ripped and hacked into the thick skin, rending all fat and muscles alike as the Adventurer rushed forward past the creature with the cold steel of his gunblade biting away at its side. Then, from the smokes, Sigmund planted his feet against the cliff face and lunged himself at the creature's flank like an unstoppable black meteorite. ]
[ Despite its large, gaping wound, the foul creature snarled at the man. Once again, it raised its fist and sent it plunging upwards at Sigmund in retaliation, but he was faster. Followed by another explosion, the monster stumbled backward - now with one of its hand missing, leaving but a stump of muscle, sinew and bone blown apart into mangled bits. ]
"NAUGHTY LITTLE ANT!" [ It screamed and kicked its leg forward. ]
[ Sigmund buckled up for the impact, and it was much harder than he had initially anticipated. The kick sent him flying dozens of meters even if he'd defended himself with his barrier spell. Though the damage was mitigated, he would not be using it against after it shattered once. However, he was stopped by a few boulders that would have turned him into a crimson paste, but it didn’t - he was still standing, if not a bit barely due to the previous battles he’d fought under the king’s service. Even so, the former soldier had little time to recover, for the colossus was already on top of him and its enormous foot came down like an angry hammer of a god threatening to crush him. Quickly getting up on his feet, Sigmund put his hand against the flat of the gunblade and braced himself for the incoming attack. ]
[ His knee buckled under the tremendous pressure coming down on him, his lifeblood splurt forth from his previous wounds as pain wreaked havoc against his mind - nearly turning his vision white in the process. The man gritted his teeth as his gunblade continued to crackle and snap in his own magic. As Sigmund let forth a roar, he pushed back and managed to topple the enormous creature on its back, effectively knocking it out of its balance. From the smokes, the soldier jumped forth like a bat out of hell and planted his feet on its fatty torso. Spewing all of his anger on it, the adventurer tore into the creature's throat, ripped the gunblade up and cleaved down on its chest all the way down to its abdominals. Slashed across, and tore down on its unwounded side to let its precious internals spill forth. ]
[ And the creature, after writhing in pain and drowning in its own blood, finally fell silent. ]
