Okay so for some reason I felt the need to write out my wack predictions for how Book 3 will go. These are probably nowhere close to what happens, but it was fun.
(I’ll update it with the new information we get at nycc)
This episode opens with the flashback of Dark Mage Ziard arguing with Sol Regum about Elairon and humans having dark magic.
In the present, Rayla, Callum, and Zym meet Sol Regum, who wants to kill Callum on sight. Sol is working as a guard of the border since Avizandium is dead, and will not let Callum though. He warns Rayla that other dragons may not be as friendly as him to Zym since there is infighting for the throne. He is only not vying for the throne because of his wounds. They find a way to sneak by him.
Ezran and Corvus meet up with Soren and Claudia on the way back to Katolis. Corvus doesn’t trust the siblings, but it’s in a comical way. They decide to take a much easier path though Duren. Maybe meet Claudia and Soren’s mom if there’s time? They get horses for the ride back.
Ezran gets back and gets becomes King, but is super nervous and wishes he had Callum to help him. Claudia and Soren talk to their farther and are upset with him, but Soren may still try and help him.
Gren, now released and healthy, heads back to the battlefront to tell Amaya that Ezran is King and Callum is in Xadia.
We follow Janai for a segment of this episode, we get to see a bit of the Sunfire army, and meet Janai’s sister, who is an important political figure. (She looks like one of these?)
There is a sort of Elven council, and we learn that there is a bit of a power vacuum since Avizandium died. We also meet a more antagonistic elf.
Rayla and Callum, hide Zym and plan to go to go into Rayla’s home village, we get Elf Callum, but the comedy is quickly halted when we meet Tinker, who is so happy to see Rayla again. Sad nod to Runaan being gone.
Ezran is told to move into his father’s room, since he’s the king now. Misses Harrow real bad. Ezran is a small boy alone in a large room, big shoes to fill.
The Ash Assassins have started messing up the other human kingdoms, and the news has gotten back to the Crow Master. Crow Lord appearance. Ezran has no idea how to help the other kingdoms. He decides to move some soldiers away from the breach to deal with the ash assassins.
Runaan, Tinker, and Rayla flashback. Sees Rayla’s childhood and training. Fun, deep connections, but very painful that it’s gone now.
End of the episode, Harrow-pip comes back and Ezran hears him, making a cliffhanger.
Chapter 4 - The Midnight Desert
Harrow explains to Ezran what happened the night of the assassination, at first no one but Corvus and Claudia believe him. Harrow asks to be taken to see Viren in the dungeon. Viren sees Harrow-pip and immediately knows he’s in shit. Harrow speaks though Ezran, and him and Viren have an angry discussion.
Amaya and Janai meet again and fight, but when the area they’re in begins to fall apart they must work together to escape.
Rayla, Callum, and Zym head out and head though the Midnight desert (the fastest route) Callum begins to understand the balance of life and death and unlocks the Moon Arcanum.
Aaravos, who heard the conversation with Harrow, has a plan to get Viren out. They escape and Steal the Soulfang serpent and the staff.
Chapter 5 - Heroes and masterminds
Viren uses the Soulfang Serpent to eat Aaravos’s Caterpillar and puts both souls into his body, they share, one in control at a time. Aaravos convinces Viren that they must head to the breach, and that he can end the fight once and for all.
In Katolis the search is on for Viren, who is much harder to find since he has Aaravos’s magic to conceal them. Claudia and Soren are conflicted about Viren going missing, but agree that he needs to be found.
Now that he knows the Moon arcane, Callum is able to use Lujanne’s illusion spell to fake being an elf. Callum dinguses himself as a Skywing elf, which works great until they meet a group of actual Skywing Elves. High jinks ensue. A teen Skywing elf finds out Callum and Rayla have the Dragon prince and decide to travel with them. He looks like this but with his wings on his back.
Gren reaches Amaya and informs her about the princes. Warm reunion. She is glad they are okay, but is nervous that Callum is in Xadia. She is second-guessing the evil of elves because of Janai not killing her, and Rayla not killing Callum and Ezran.
Flashback episode. Now that Ezran is king, Harrow decides to tell him the story of Thunder’s death, but we as the audience also get to see Rayla and the Sky elf recount to Callum Avizandium’s death from an elven perspective.
Things at the Breach are escalating, and all out war is on the horizon, but strangely Amaya and Janai are growing closer. Fine line between reconnaissance and fraternizing with the enemy.
In a sequence of nightmares throughout the episode, we see Viren imagine Aaravos’s memories and we see his backstory, reasoning, and how he got trapped in the mirror.
Chapter 7 - Hearts of Cinder
Amaya and Janai are getting real close, with Gren egging them on.
Rayla, Callum and the sky elf are getting close to the Dragon Queen. Rayla opens up about her parents who are on the dragon guard and are protecting the Queen. We learn why she wishes they were dead. If Rayllum happens this season I think it will be here.
Viren has been spotted heading towards the Breach, and in fear that he will start bloodshead, Ezran sends Corvus, Claudia and Soren, and others to stop him.
Rayla and crew get to the Dragon queen and return Zym! Callum reveals that he’s a human prince, and almost gets killed on sight by the Dragonguard. The Dragon Queen stops them, because he and Rayla had done more to save Zym then the Dragonguard themselves. They are offered places on the Dragonguard, but are unsure weather to take them or not; Rayla is not over her parents leaving, and Callum kinda wants to go back home.
Callum pleads with the Dragon Queen to end the war. She wished she could but the war is escalating and the Humans would just kill her people. Callum promises her that if the Dragons and Elves agree to end the war, he could convince the other kingdoms, to stop fighting too.
The Antagonistic Elf finds out about Janaya and punishes Janai while Amaya is right there, but unable to help her. Other human soldiers show up and Amaya is able to escape with a hornless Janai.
Rayla and Callum ride back to the breach on the Dragon Queen to end the fight. Many other dragons and the Dragon guard follow.
Chapter 9 - The Final Battle
Viren/Aaravos arrives at the breach, and Aaravos prepares a huge spell. Corvus, Claudia and Soren soon follow, but immediately are told to head to the battlefront, the final clash is obviously happening soon. Corvus finds Gren and Amaya, and the five of them, plus an injured Janai track down Viren/Aaravos.
The battle starts and it’s MADNESS! Luckily the Dragon Queen and her Dragon army arrive to stop things. At first the humans retreat in fear, but Callum gets a big monologue moment asking for peace.
Aaravos/Viren attack him and steal Aaravos’s Key Cube. With it and the staff it unleashes a great power that the Humans, Elves, and Dragons must work together to stop.
Aaravos/Viren escapes but at least the war has been stopped (or at least temporarily)
The Dragon Queen heads home to be with her son (finally) but leaves Rayla and most of the Dragonguard to help dissolve tensions at the border. Amaya, Gren and Corvus work as a good promotion team on the human side.
Rayla offers for Callum to live in Xadia, always surrounded by magic, he really wants to but he knows he has to go home to Katolis and help his brother. (Callum and Rayla visit each other often though)
Callum and the Brodegies head back to Katolis. After all this time battling Soren needs a break from the Crownsguard to find himself. Callum convinces Claudia not to do dark magic as long as he teaches her how to unlock primal connections naturally. Callum and Ezran co-rule Katolis as kings: “The Two Towers of Katolis”
