TOGETHER WE ARE AMERICA
BAD BUNNY Super Bowl LX Halftime show ending speech | February 8, 2026.
alright. there's a lot happening right now.
for those who don’t know me, hi, i’m spikermonster, and i’m a venezuelan artist. i’ve been sharing my art on the internet since i was a kid. i was born here in caracas and i’ve never moved out. the only time i’ve ever left the country was in 2001, when i was 9 and my dad took me to disney world.
i’m saying all this because it’s important that people know that i’m someone who actually lives here and has always lived here, so i don’t get anyone in my mentions trying to dismiss anything i say because they think i live in another country or whatever. you might think i don’t owe anyone this much of an explanation, but i feel like i do, because i’ve seen the way americans snarkily dismiss anything venezuelans say about the issue if it’s something they can’t wrap their heads around. they don’t even try to look at it from our perspective. suddenly every venezuelan who speaks up online is secretly a CIA shill. with all due respect you guys are fucking insane. all you’re doing is silencing venezuelan voices and you don’t even realize it. do i blame you for thinking that way? no, i don’t! because the CIA is terrifying and the US sucks, trump sucks, we all know this. but you care WAY more about hating your own country (as valid as your reasons may be) than you do about actually listening to people from other countries. so thanks for making me do all this extra work just to speak about my country.
last night the US military launched airstrikes in venezuela and there were also troops on the ground. i heard the planes and explosions. i’m not able to see the city from my apartment but i could hear everything, the sounds were unmistakable and unlike anything i’d heard before. i was scared shitless. however this is something we’ve been all mentally preparing ourselves for, since as some of you might know, the US had been besieging venezuela for several months via the caribbean sea. still, you might think you’re ready for a moment like this but trust me, you’re truly not, and you realize that real quick once it actually happens.
please know that my family and i are safe. the places that were targeted were specifically military bases and points of interest like that, it wasn’t a random bombing against civilians with lots of casualties or anything. at the time of me writing this post, there’s only one confirmed civilian casualty, and according to some sources it might be around 40, the large majority of which were military. i have not been able to confirm this though. i’m not saying this to downplay the importance of the situation, i just want to get some facts straight because there’s a lot of fearmongering and sensationalism revolving around the issue.
that being said, it was still the single most terrifying thing i’ve lived through. this should’ve never happened. we should’ve never reached a point where a foreign military intervention was needed. yes, needed. because we never would’ve been able to get rid of maduro ourselves, trust me, we’ve been trying for several years. maduro needed to be taken care of. if you don’t know why, i encourage you to do your own research on the venezuelan crisis and how we ended up in a dictatorship (maybe pick up a few pointers so you can recognize that trump himself is becoming a dictator pretty quick, but i think you might’ve noticed already.) now, i’m hearing that this move from the US was apparently not exactly legal but i’m gonna be honest with you: we don’t care. “but they’re just after your oil” we don’t care. we’re just glad maduro is finally out. whatever happens with him now is up to the US. or the UN if it ever decides to stop being useless and step in. i really have no energy in me to think of what this means for the US, all i can think about right now is what’s going to happen with my own country.
btw if you’re an american and posted this meme reacting to current events:
i’m gonna need you to get a grip and sit down because this isn’t about you. this and overdramatic angry apologies on behalf of your government are displays that don't show any solidarity towards venezuelans, because you’re literally just making it all about you. you you you, it's always all about the USA. reel it in and listen to venezuelans for once, my god. get some perspective. why is it always americans trying to make every world issue an american issue. no, the venezuelan military isn’t gonna retaliate against your country because they’re pathetically underequipped. you guys are gonna be fine (in a way, i guess, the US has a lot of other issues to worry about)
so what happens now? i have no idea. i truly have no fucking idea and at this point i’m too exhausted to think about it. i didn’t sleep last night. things might be a bit bad before they can get better, but this? this is a step in the right direction. i know that sounds hard to believe but again you have to understand and see this from a venezuelan perspective. there are plenty of other venezuelans explaining things a lot better than i am, i fear this post might be a bit disjointed because i’m so tired and overwhelmed. so again, please look into what’s happening, do your own research, AND LISTEN TO VENEZUELANS.

The US is bombing my home country Venezuela.
Venezuela has been in a dictatorship as long as I have been alive. Since 1998. My parents are happy about a coup and hope Maduro dies or gets arrested, which yes. Fuck Maduro, fuck Chavismo. But I've read way too much about the history of US dipping their hands into South America, installing puppet states, fucking everything up and this is not a win. Even if Maduro dies or gets arrested, the US just wants the country's resources, they are not magically going to fix everything, there is a corrupt reason for this to be happening that is yet to unfold and I'm so tired. Fuck Trump.
I wish I could find better words to explain this to non-venezuelans, or Venezuelans of an older generation who are just tired of failed "socialism" and beelined straight to far right borderline extremism as if that was better. For now my family back home is safe and I wish every person in Caracas the same.
i’m using Internet Explorer, i hope this posts quickly. happy new year 2011
Did anyone ask for a Kaiba redraw of a deranged Asa quote? *is met with crickets*
I don't use this account much anymore out of a desire to separate myself from fandoms and social media in general nowadays. But I've still lingered around enough to know what's happened with RGG and to have seen the discussions and protests surrounding it. And I came back here despite not wanting much to do with this place anymore because the more time passes, the more my anger is turning the blood running through my veins into lava. And this volcano has to erupt. I need that relief. For anyone not aware (meaning you probably follow me and aren't part of the Yakuza fandom), Yakuza Kiwami 3 had several recasts. One of which was for the character of Hamazaki. For him, they brought in Teruyuki Kagawa. Kagawa has sexually assaulted two hostesses, only one of which he has even apologized to. This has led to a lot of the fans protesting and vowing to not buy the game unless Kagawa is removed. So far, RGG has only responded to this with attempts to block out the protests (removing comments) and thinly veiled annoyance (looking at Horii).
To that, I don't have much to add that hasn't already been said other than my own vow to not buy Kiwami 3 and hope that if Kagawa isn't removed (and I'm not optimistic), then at least people like Horii are in for a long and difficult ride of not knowing any peace on social media due to how they've turned their backs on the fans.
Here's the part that I want to say that I haven't seen be said all that much. Many fans are saying this all contradicts the messaging in these games and that this isn't being true to what they're about.
Really? Is that actually true?
I think there are two versions of the Yakuza games in this situation. The really progressive one that that fans want to exist and have convinced themselves does exist. And the one that is not without at least some good points on their depictions of marginalized groups but is overall deeply flawed in this regard. Especially when it comes to women. The RGG I know had its first game open up with an attempted sexual assault where instead of lingering any time whatsoever on the victim, we instead focus on what this means for her two male friends. One of which killed the perpetrator, the other about to take the fall for him. Her and her feelings don't matter much outside of what they mean for those two men and the plot. The RGG I know has thrown in jokes about ugly women assaulting the main character. They've had a fat girl thrown in as a minor character just to make her whole thing being fat and unfashionable in contrast to the much more conventionally pretty, fashionable, and skinny Haruka. In the game prior to that one, they had a fat woman romantically interested in a character who was not lacking in shitty comments about her weight (one of which seemed to be implying she's too fat to be assaulted). She ended up starving the weight off due to stress. Their social media actually tweeted about that a few days ago. Called it a "diet". The RGG I know introduced a major female character in their second game as confident and capable only for her to fall apart and become dependent on Kiryu later in the game and get pushed to the side so Kiryu could have his fight to the death with her brother. As the series as a whole went on, their main female character was eventually sidelined and the very last thing Kiryu said to her before "dying" and disappearing from her life before only very recently reuniting with her after his cancer diagnosis emphasized her responsibility to be a good mom and wife. Because that's just what a woman ought to be. Mirei didn't get that when she (unlike Haruka) chose her idol career over having a family. The RGG I know has a trend of pairing their men up with women much younger than them. The worst of it being Majima hooking up with Mirei when she was still a teenager and he was in his late 20s. And can't forget what happened between Saejima and Haruka in 4. But he was fresh out of prison and hadn't been around a "woman" in a long time. He couldn't help it. According to this teenage girl's adoptive dad who saw the whole thing. The latter two things mentioned in this long list being things so egregious, that the fandom just kind of ignores them and at least in Saejima and Haruka's case, straight up pretends didn't happen. We got so good at pretending, we seem to have forgotten about it entirely since what is happening now is apparently really unlike RGG based off the content of the games.
That's the RGG we're seeing right now.
RGG is not good to women. It never has been. It clearly isn't now. And I don't know when it ever will be. They took baby steps in 7. Baby steps. That was it.
It could be difficult sitting through some of the stuff in these games as a woman. But I had hope they'd get better. But this is all getting to be too much. They need to remove this guy of course. But there is clearly an underlying problem.
I'm a SA victim myself. Aside from what happened in the incident that makes me say that I've also dealt with some really scary sexual harassment. I've been chased to my car. I've had a man lash out at me over not wanting to be with him. I've had men make disgusting sexual comments to me out of nowhere. I have firsthand experience with the severity of actions like what Kagawa did. I also have almost 30 years of experience as a woman (I'm almost an old hag in RGG woman years). And at times, it's so damn hard to be that and be a fan of these games and exist in this fandom (which is why I chose to not do the latter anymore). The cherry on top is I guess a lot of people don't even see the problem to the full extent that it exists and that this is not an isolated incident. Though it is definitely crossing a new line.
I've been ranting for a while to get all of my feelings out. I'm sorry if it's incoherent. But hopefully at least one person sees this and resonates with it.
Why are they fujoing out over each other’s ship
God didn’t give me the ability to edit because he was afraid of me making a video of Aki with his “kids”, Denji and Power, set to the opening of Reba.
I love this fucking movie, man
watched the movie.. feeling very hopium..
Vague Superman spoilers ahead but what does it say about movies lately that I was genuinely surprised that they beat the bad guys without some big catch or sacrifice. Like sure there little things and emotional ramifications but at the end of the day they won.
Lex even tried to do the whole “force the hero to make an impossible choice” thing and it didn’t work because Superman asked his friends for help!
Anyway I’m just obsessed with the theme of “Good can win. It may be hard and it may seem hopeless at times but with love and friendship and a radical determination to save as many people as you possibly can, good can win.”
Superman
absolute menace but still such a good boy :')))
