I cannot stop thinking about Peglar, Bridgens, Orren and Young. What a time to be alive. We have 9 confirmed identities, a possible Goodsir, a very uncertain Irving and two boats.
It's crazy to just be here with the facts we found them. We know. It was you. You can finally rest because we found you.
The Eloise vs Francesca season lead debate is crazy to me because would I rather watch my girl Eloise fold into marriage and motherhood with some random white man out of loneliness and societal pressure or would I rather see Francesca perform an extraordinary miraculous feat that rewrite natural laws by successfully getting an avoidant lesbian to commit and perhaps even communicate?

GOD BLESS AMERICA. AND HE NAMED EVERY SINGLE AMERICAN COUNTRY
Menos mal que borré twitter y así porque si tuviera q ver una opinión más de un magazolano I would've killed myself already
The US is bombing my home country Venezuela.
Venezuela has been in a dictatorship as long as I have been alive. Since 1998. My parents are happy about a coup and hope Maduro dies or gets arrested, which yes. Fuck Maduro, fuck Chavismo. But I've read way too much about the history of US dipping their hands into South America, installing puppet states, fucking everything up and this is not a win. Even if Maduro dies or gets arrested, the US just wants the country's resources without more pretense of negotiations, they are not magically going to fix everything, there is a corrupt reason for this to be happening that is yet to unfold and I'm so tired. Fuck Trump.
I wish I could find better words to explain this to non-venezuelans, or Venezuelans of an older generation who are just tired of failed "socialism" and beelined straight to far right borderline extremism as if that was better. For now my family back home is safe and I wish every person in Caracas the same.

The review bombing of E7 is seriously getting out of hand and becoming outwardly dangerous and it makes me so sad and mad. Elon Muskrat has now tweeted about it and the amount of SA jokes and pedo jokes trickling into my feed are concerning. I am queer myself and have been left disappointed by vol.2 but big not-so-gentle reminder that the show isn't over??? And this is so beyond shipping wars. If you took part in rating the episode lowly because you were disappointed it didn't go how you thought it would, whether you ship mileven or byler or jancy or anybody, consider that execs probably see this episode as "taking a risk" and the low ratings are said risk not paying off. If you don't want to keep being queerbaited this is not the way to go. I was here for johnlock and for supernatural (this one mercifully from a distance) and all of that crap and this is by far way worse in the amount of vitriol and outright homophobia I have been seeing. Please reflect and check yourselves, no matter how angry or sad you are. There are other ways to voice these feelings that don't actively harm your communities and queer representation.

MACBETH at THE DONMAR WAREHOUSE (2023)
Del Toro's Frankenstein was visually insane. I got the chance to see it at my local theatre in 35mm and half the time I couldn't blink. The sets!! The costumes!!!! The acting???????? I wish I could be more eloquent about this particular aspect, it was truly a visual feast.
To address the elephant in the room: It IS very different from the book, and if you're familiar with his work, very Del Toro-esque. I agree that the themes of the book got watered down and a lot of the grey area exchanged for a very clear evil vs. innocence/goodness binary, a not-so-subtle mirror held out to the audience that some may find heavy-handed, but I didn't go into this film thinking it would be a one-to-one adaptation and I feel that saved my experience of it. I do think that despite the changes there is an underlying respect for Shelley's novel, but a very clear thematic shift. Still, it does capture the bitter-sweetness and painful existentialism of the original story for me, even if it is less queer and very much sifted through the lens of a monster-lover male director.
Spoilers: I did find the ending bit a little bit messy after some reflection. But overall, it feels to me that the focus of the film is a great empathetic take on the creature, which softens its actions both to good and mixed results. Coming from a Mexican man who grew up feeling alienated and loving monsters, of course this is the result of his view on Frankenstein. I for one enjoyed it and urge people to make their own conclusions about the work.
