you know if you’re gonna include in-universe art in your work that’s supposed to be really good, you need to be damn confident in your own abilities to pull that off. Like if your character is a great poet and you actually wanna show some of their poetry you need to be a really good poet to pull that off and make it believable. which is why every day I’m impressed that the splatoon people did in fact successfully make a song that would make me defect to squid society

Sorry for pointing out the obvious but I love inklings/octolings and their weird tentacle hair. I think it's a cute detail that inklings have more freedom with their hairstyles, cutting and burning whatever bits off as they please,

while octolings don't. With the exception of the Afro you can tell that each octoling hairstyle still has 4 uncut tentacles, they're just folded or tied up in some way.

Because they canonically can't cut their hair since it like, produces a new living being (a reference to real octopi and their cool arms that each have their own "mini brains")
