You know what absolutely fried my brain today? Like actually unplugged it, microwaved it, sprinkled cheese on top and served it as a crispy lil snack?

And suddenly everything clicked so hard I swear I heard the Stranger Things theme start playing in my house.
Let’s walk through this disaster together:
So in the beginning of the DnD game, the Hellfire Club is like,
“Vecna? Oh yeah he’s totally dead 👍”
WHICH IS HILARIOUS because Season 5 literally opens the exact same way.
Everyone’s sitting around like,
“So uh… do we think he’s dead? He hasn’t texted us in a while.”
Anyway, they’re all convinced Vecna is six feet under AND THEN —
they roll an eleven.
They try to kill him. They FAIL.
Just like Eleven tried to kill him at the end of S4 and FAILED.
Like I’m sorry, the Duffers are not subtle.
They hit us with symbolism so loud I think I lost hearing in my left ear.
BUT THEN.
BUT THEN.
The party rolls a natural 20 — CRITICAL HIT.
And THAT’s how they kill Vecna in the game.
And this is where my brain fully left the chat.
Because 11 + 8 + 1 = 20.

The Duffers literally confirmed that Will draws his powers from One.

Eleven is going God Mode.

They are going to kill Vecna together.

The foreshadowing is foreshadowing so hard it’s giving me secondhand embarrassment that I didn’t notice it sooner.
Like imagine being the Duffers writing this back in 2020, giggling because they know exactly how insane the fandom is gonna get when we put the pieces together like 4 seasons later.
This is crazy. Actually deranged.

Like I’m convinced Vecna was in the Upside Down somewhere watching Will panic-power-up and going,

All while twiddling his creepy little vine-fingers like a proud but evil plant dad.
Because look at the pattern:
Vecna talks like someone who already binged the final season spoilers on Reddit. He gives speeches like,
“Oh sweetie… I already know how this ends. You lose ♥️”
Like sir??? Stop talking like you’ve read ahead in the script??
And honestly, maybe he kinda HAS.
He already had control of the demos—they literally dragged the kids there like Uber drivers from hell—so him “letting” Will blow them up?
Yeah… starting to feel intentional.
Like Vecna was standing there letting his minions die thinking,
“Sacrifices must be made… for the aesthetic… and the plot twist.”
And the Duffers calling it “harnessing Vecna powers”??
HELLO???
Why did none of us stop and go, “Hold on, that sounds like a trap?”
It’s giving “Here honey, hold this cursed object, nothing bad will happen :)” energy.
If you track the story beats, Vecna actually technically won at the end of Sorcerer.
He got all the kids.
Step completed.
Achievement unlocked.
But the show framed it like “YAY WILL SAVED HIS FRIENDS 🥹✨”
Meanwhile Vecna’s in the background like:
“Yes, yes… celebrate the tiny victory… keep using my powers… fall right into my strategic fruit roll-up of doom…”
And this is the part that kills me:
He literally told Holly his whole Pinterest mood board at the Creel House and we all just went,
“Aww he’s being creepy again :)”
No, he laid it OUT:
“Friends first. Then I’ll save your family. I have room for EVERYONE here.”
That’s not a threat, that’s a multi-step business plan.
That’s a LinkedIn power move.
This man is scheduling psychological warfare like Google Calendar reminders.
So yeah.
Vecna didn’t lose.
He’s just playing the world’s longest chess game, and Will is the piece he wanted to move all along.
And we all fell for it.
