Demolition is systematic, intentional and done with thought and care to minimize damage.

Destruction is utterly and completely breaking something to the point where it can no longer be used for anything, nevermind its original purpose.

That wasn't demolition and it wasn't Crowley's doing.

as much as i wanna get into this i have to leave for work in three minutes but. every bit of that universe was reused, or modified, or repaired. genuinely the only big difference was that the humans were no longer part of some game, and there was no heavenly or hellish influence on them or on asa and anthony, who were very clearly still aziraphale and crowley, but human.

Crowley not recognising him and aziraphale pretending not to?! Idk?! We always thought that that shock came for aziraphale in the garden of eden, but no. Thar makes that scene hit even harder now.

Aziraphale and the whole "getting the Bentley back" sequence like... Who is she?! Confident, cheeky, pulling a trickster-god- rigged-deal with a human? Centuries of doing the "wrong thing" but disguising it as the "heavenly thing" culminated here. Crowley must be so proud

The ending: Crowley seemingly got what he wanted, just the two of them, the bookstore, finally peace and quiet. And the realisation that it's utterly meaningless without humanity. Crowley getting god to listen to his question. Getting his wish, to get rid of the rigged, toxic system. To let his beautiful stars and nebulas unfold, governed only by the laws of the universe.

Aziraphale and Crowley finally succeeding in what they've always strived towards: protecting humanity. Their beloved earth

But a lot of y'all on this website are truly deeply genuinely never going to be capable of any kind of real narrative analysis--and I don't mean 'being right all the time' I mean 'meaningfully engaging with the text in any way'--

Because you are, fundamentally, incapable of comprehending that writers usually do things on purpose.

The themes are there on...purpose.

The match cuts were meticulously designed and put there to communicate something.

The VA's delivery of a line was being directed. Inflection and tone change the meaning of dialogue. This is intentional. There are entire teams of people shaping those choices and deciding which take to use based on what works best for the story.

Information is being revealed in a specific order, on purpose, to craft an emotional arc and guide the audience's understanding.

A character's romantic preferences are only, and SHOULD only be, their primary motivation if the genre is romance. That is why there is a genre called that. Most stories are other genres.

Creators who dislike a character generally give them LESS attention, MORE boring storylines, and LESS screentime.

Sometimes curtains are just blue. But if the shot composition or written narration takes time to HIGHLIGHT, especially more than once, that the curtains are blue, then the blueness of the curtains is by definition narratively important.

"Cite your sources" is not a witch's curse that banishes People With Different Opinions to the shadowrealm of Being Wrong. Someone making points that challenge your perceptions, while including screenshots and explicit examples, cannot be dismissed with "cite your sources" because they are literally doing that. Don't @ me on this one I've seen shit in the wars, y'all.

Failing to understand these things WILL bar you from ever really engaging with or understanding any narrative more complicated than Paw Patrol for the rest of your life.

Y'all really getting angry that Aziraphale and Crowley didn't kiss? Is it not enough for them to be LITERAL SPOUSES? To be able to find love while middle aged? To have at LEAST 20 years with each other? Is it so necessary for them to kiss in order for it to be a satisfying romantic relationship?

If the end universe of Good Omens is our universe, they would've lived through AIDS, they would've lived through same-sex marriage not being legal, they would've lived through all the struggle and strife that queer people have to deal with, and even with all of that they still found each other. They have a life together. They're happy. They hold hands and listen to a nightingale sing while watching the stars in their heart-shaped chairs in the yard of their shared home. FUCK.
