okay sorry this is so unserious but now that i think about it team thanos is actually surprisingly similar to the plastics from mean girls?? 😭😭 (and se-mi is like janis)
thanos is like regina because he’s the de facto leader, he alternates between being fake nice and being lowkey rude/condescending (especially toward nam-gyu, and regina does it mostly toward gretchen). they’re also both charismatic and vicious yet dumb (regina goes an “all-carb diet” and asks if butter is a carb, thanos doesn’t realize that myung-gi winning the whole prize would mean he would have to die).
nam-gyu is gretchen because they’re both the second in command who constantly sucks up to the leader despite feeling a lot of resentment toward said leader. they also both start to crash out when it seems like the leader might be paying more attention to another member of the group, and they both tend to know the most gossip and out of the group and be the most observant.
gyeong-su is karen because they both seem naive and kinder than anyone else in the group. they also seem to go along with the leader of the group but not out of ambition or self-serving reasons like nam-gyu/gretchen. i don’t have much to say other than that bc gyeong-su died too soon rip king 😭😭
min-su is cady because he befriends se-mi like cady initially befriends janis but he ends up betraying her for thanos and nam-gyu like cady ditches janis for the plastics. min-su and cady also both seem more docile at first than they end up being throughout their respective stories. min-su ends up getting revenge on nam-gyu like cady ends up getting back at the plastics. similarly, cady replaces regina and becomes the person who gretchen (and karen) bend to and follow while min-su gets nam-gyu to beg and do what he wants when he gets ahold of the cross.
se-mi is janis because they both dislike the other characters aside from min-su/cady (who they also both eventually distance themselves from later in the plot). they both see the plastics/thanos, nam-gyu, and gyeong-su as stupid and shallow. they also both are betrayed by min-su/cady, the one person (or one of two people in janis’s case) they felt confident they could rely on.
idk what compelled me to make this, i just thought about how nam-gyu’s resentment towards thanos reminded me of gretchen’s “we should all just stab caesar” speech and then i realized that every member of the team resembled a mean girls character lmao. sadly there’s not anyone i can think of who would be a perfect fit for damien…mi-na maybe ig??? hopefully y’all see my vision lmao. also i’m not saying they’re 100% the same because the plots are completely different, i just thought the similarities were funny
