Short Extension Cords
You know how sometimes your extension cord doesn't quite reach that last 20-30cm? Somebody should make very short extension cords for those situations.

Short Extension Cords
You know how sometimes your extension cord doesn't quite reach that last 20-30cm? Somebody should make very short extension cords for those situations.
Donate for Water Access
You know how the city of Detroit is violating the human rights of its citizens by denying them water? Somebody should make a place to donate to help people get back and keep access to water. Thanks to @tiffani and @KristyT for this excellent solution to address the worst of the crisis. Next somebody should make Detroit's government fix their skyrocketing water prices to reasonable early 2000 levels and stop turning off water as punishment for unemployment and poverty.
Public Property Repairs Website
You know how you often see broken sidewalks, roads with potholes, traffic signals that aren't working, curbs that need cutouts, etc.? Often the process to inform the city or county is difficult and time-consuming. Somebody should make a website where you can drop a pin on the location and describe the problem from several categories, that lets the city respond and resolve the issues. Urgent problems could be sent immediately to the right department.
Metric System
Somebody should transfer the US to the metric system.
Bandaids in Skin Colors
You know how bandaids are for light (white) skin? And past skin-color bandaids weren't marketed by retailers? Somebody needs to make and sell bandaids in the full range of skin colors on the actual bandaid aisle.
Clothes Sizing Translator
Ever tried to shop for clothes somewhere you weren't sure of your size? Especially to translate between masculine and feminine clothing sizes, or between sizes in different countries? Somebody should make a website where you can input your measurements and they will tell your size in all matching women's, men's, and children's clothes for a particular country's sizes, that also lets you translate directly by sizes from country to country.
Terms of Service Readability
Terms of service (and privacy policies) are written by lawyers in legal language for legal reasons, and they can be confusing and frustrating. Most people don't read them, and if they do, don't really understand what they've agreed to. Updates to the walls of text that are most terms of service hide any important changes. Can it be informed consent if the information is impenetrable? Somebody should make a policy that 1) terms of service should be readable and understandable at an 8th grade reading level, 2) changes to terms of service should be clearly marked and easy to decipher, 3) terms of service should have an accurate summary if longer than 1,000 words (5 minutes at 200wpm reading speed).
Browser Tab Video Tool
You know when you're watching stuff online, and you have multiple videos in different tabs and you're switching between them or watching in a certain order? Or you're watching a video you want to pay attention to but clicking between other tabs at the same time? Somebody should make a browser function where you can optionally pause or start videos by clicking on that tab (play) or away from it (pause).
Healthcare Price Comparison
Know when you're looking for healthcare but insurance doesn't cover it? You want to compare prices and reviews before picking a place that works for you. Somebody should make a crowd-sourced website where you can report the charges for various services, like from the dentist or optometrist or specialists. Then you could go online, enter your location, and see who in your area charges what for that service. Providers could be encouraged to post prices if people used the site. More transparency in healthcare costs would help consumers in both the short-term and long-term.
Post-Swimming Soap
Do you swim in chlorinated pools, then use special hair products, but get annoyed when your ineffective soap leaves your skin dry and chlorine-y? Somebody should make a special soap for chlorine.
Like so.
Online Code Compilers
You know when you're learning a new programming language through online tutorials that won't let you play around, but you're too lazy to download a compiler? Somebody should make an online compiler to play with.
Maybe like one of these.
No-Poo All in One
If you don't want to use commercial shampoos and conditioners, you can use baking soda to wash your hair (removing oils), then apple cider vinegar to condition it. The big plus: You don't have to wash your hair as often after it adjusts to this routine. But if you're looking for time savers, why not mix up a bottle of shampoo plus conditioner, so you only have one step, then rinse?
Supplemental Materials Journal
You know how research journals like Science and Nature only have the supplemental materials online, but that's where you find out what actually happened? Somebody should print a complementary journal with only the supplemental materials.
Somebody should
start a blog of ideas somebody should do.
