the lack of misogyny in heartstopper is so fucking refreshing. all of the girls in the show just LOVE each other. no jealousy. no cattiness. no competitiveness. elle, tara, darcy, imogen, and sahar are all just vibing together. in a world where literally every single tv show has women being pitted against each other, it makes me so happy to see full love, solidarity, and support amongst these leading ladies.
I know I’m not saying anything here that other people haven’t already said, but if we get a season three, what I want, more than anything, is for Wilhelm and Simon to be together, as a couple, for the duration of it. All of it. Every episode. No breaks.
Let all the drama be external, things that they can face together, even if it’s difficult. They can bicker and argue—that happens! But I don’t want to see those arguments making them break it off for an episode or two. I want to see Wilhelm putting those communication skills he’s been learning in therapy to work. I want to see Simon internalizing Wilhelm’s steadily improving communication skills, and working on his own. Let them argue, sure, but I want to see them be able to bring themselves back before it escalates the way it has in the past and be able to communicate effectively with each other.
They’re a team now. Wilhelm’s made it clear he’s not going to do what he did before, and leave Simon high and dry. (Not to vilify Wille, of course—it was an incredibly fucked up, complicated situation and he’s a grieving teenager in an unimaginably difficult spot doing his best. I will not stand for Wille slander.) I don’t expect Simon to love or immediately adjust to the new attention he’s going to get as the prince’s boyfriend, and I don’t even expect him to not instinctively direct some of his frustration with that toward Wilhelm, but I do expect him to catch himself in that, and for them to work through it together.
IIRC, there is a Lisa quote out there where she talks about not wanting to manufacture needless drama for the express purpose of keeping them apart (though I can’t find it, so don’t quote me on that), and with how great her writing has been thus far, I have faith that we’re not going to see them going through some convoluted breakup plot just to get back together again at the end…but I’ve also watched enough other media to be paranoid, lol.
"he likes it when i sing"
"and you mean i don't?"
“It’s kind of hard to tell them apart… But one of them is called Olle… the other one is called Oski. And… the third one is called… Felle.”
This parallel killed me
There’s something powerful about this scene:
Wille sees Ayub and Rosh from the car yet he still goes talk to Simon. He doesn’t ask them to leave or ask Simon if they can speak in private. No, he keeps his distance, leaves Simon with his friends (his emotional support, probably, in this scene) and speaks his truth. And the first Thing he does is apologize.
Wille doesn’t hesitate to speak freely in front of Rosh and Ayub, even though he could have some reservations. Yes, they know Wille and Simon were together but that doesn’t mean that he has to feel comfortable telling Simon about August being next in line in front of them. Them knowing about it doesn’t mean Wille has to trust them –especially when they’re the best friends of your ex whom you hurt a lot… He must know they don’t like him very much.
And as if it’s not enough, he doesn’t ask anything of Simon. He’s only there to tell him what’s up. And by informing Simon of the situation and then going, he gives Simon the chance to think about it with his friends. Now, did they give the most helpful advice this season? Not really. I don’t know if Wille knows that but it doesn’t really matter. What matters is that Wille let’s Simon think about it with people Simon trusts.
So yeah, I just think this is a very important moment because it’s Wille being honest about the situation, expressing his feelings which is not the easiest thing for him to do, in front of people who aren’t Simon, Felice, or his mother, who were previously the only people he was somewhat honest with. It’s also important to Simon because it shows him that Wille can like him openly –in front of certain people, at least. But those people, even if they aren’t the whole world, are important to Simon. And here, Simon is being given some important information in the open.
This series is just my comfort place. Both the show and the books. I'll return to Heartstopper every time I feel bad, and every time it works its miracle and makes me feel better. And starting a day with an episode to breakfast is a guaranteed good mood for the start of the day I swear
I'm having a little mental breakdown after yesterday's Harry Styles concert so I desperately need to rewatch Heartstopper so it can heal my broken heart and I can feel happy again.
This pictures are everything

And also, Kit's smile is everything...
