Upcoming: CONTROL Resonant (2026) - Emily Pope
Remedy has released a new trailer for CONTROL Resonant, entirely narrated by Antonia as her character Emily Pope. Enjoy!

Self-Consistency Principle [6/?]
Pairing: Jesse Faden/Emily Pope Rating: M (for violence, blood, and injury) Tags: Temporary Character Death, Canon-Typical Violence, Blood and Injury, Alternate Universe - Canon Divergence, Time Loop (Kinda), Psychic Connection, Development of Powers, Fluff and Angst, Hurt/Comfort, Slow Burn, Worldbuilding
Summary: Time has always been strange in the Oldest House, stretching and contracting, bending around Thresholds and Altered Items. But never folding back in on itself, never creating a loop. And Emily would have continued to believe that too, if a chance convergence of events hadn't landed her squarely in the middle of the temporal relationship between Jesse, the House, and the Board. OR Jesse keeps dying, but she also keeps getting better, and for some reason, only Emily remembers.
Chapter Word Count: 4,512 Preview:
Emily turned back to the scanner, but as she did so a peculiar sensation slid over her. A prickle of awareness started at the back of her neck and quickly intensified until Jesseās presence behind her felt almost physical, like she was pressed up against Emilyās spine. (It was a comparison that Emily was fully qualified to make, considering sheād experienced Jesse actually pressed up against her twice so far today). It felt like the arrival of the presence in her lab at the end of the last iteration. And on cue, that blur appeared again in the corner of her vision. It vanished when Emily blinked, but she was starting to suspect it wasnāt visual at all, merely her brainās best attempt to categorize a new kind of stimuli from whatever sense had been awakened by her⦠current condition. The sensation continued, and Emily grew warmer as a blush started to rise in her cheeks. (Thankfully, it was hidden by the fact that she was facing away from Jesse, but Emily was positive the tips of her ears were turning red as well). She tried to put it out of her mind and focus on the task at hand, but the⦠contact? connection?⦠was far too prolonged and far too personal to easily ignore.

wankernumber9 multiverse, anyone?
So I'm working on a new Control story that will extend, mix, and mingle all my other Control stories. It starts with a bang. š

1 chapter so far, 3200 words, super gay (explicit).
One of the reasons I ship Jesse and Emily so much is Jesse goes into The Oldest House with her guard up, very cautious, ready to be combative with the Bureau. First person she talks to outside of Ahti is Emily, the personification of this agency that took her brother and has had her on the run ever since. In her internal monologue, she plays at holding back, not sharing a lot with her. But in the end, she always ends up being honest with Emily. It wouldn't be special if she did that with everyone, but all the other people she meets she keeps at arms length, remaining friendly enough but still kinda standoffish. It's clear she doesn't trust anyone like she trusts Emily, a trust that only gets stronger as the game goes on.
I think part of it is Emily immediately suggesting Jesse try to cleanse one of the people possessed by the Hiss, because it's an immediate signal that Emily actually cares about people's wellbeing and is looking for any way she can help. It's just beautiful how immediate their connection is and that it's built on trust that doesn't waver. They're partners and they're in this together.
there is nothing straight or platonic about the way Emily says "Jesse" in the Paranatural Manhattan trailer btw
Tonight I'm Control yuri pilled with Jesse Faden and Emily Pope
Remedy I need them to be reunited NOW
