Hello there! For my 2026 resolutions, I am now changing my blog’s name from maifazcomics to artmeetscience!

Just, maifazcomics is a name I associate with my personal projects, and they started feeling more like obligations than fun so I just… don’t want to be “maifazcomics” for a while, and just have fun with the Remedyverse. I felt way happier being known as the Remedy fan than the professional artist and comic book maker.

This doesn’t make sense on Tumblr specifically, but I swear it makes sense anywhere else.

Something is different about Emily, and it isn't the obvious.

Really look at her. Ignore the hair and the earring for now (though those are also big changes, they aren't the important part.) Why does her jacket look like that?

It's a standing collar, with an asymmetrical closure and a very square silhouette, even what looks like padding in the shoulders. It immediately made me think of millitary gear, and some very quick googling pulled up fencing style jackets that look almost identical, though Emily's is even more structured than these.

Emily doesn't look anything like an office worker anymore. The structure of her white shirt was very sharp and way fancier than anything her colleagues wore, but it was still recognisably office wear. Now, she looks like military leader, and the slicked back hair and cicular brooch like a badge or medal don't help matters.

This is a huge indication to me that the culture of the Oldest House has changed massively, and even personalities as sunny and excitable as Emily have been ground down by the constant fighting and neverending lockdown. She's the head of science, but unlike Darling's freindly and approachble lab coats and sweater vests, Emily has started dressing like someone whose orders are not to be questioned.

Really, the earring is actually the only sign that Emily is still keeping at least a little bit of whimsy in her life and self expression, but apart from that she is dressing like a completely different person - probably because she is. She's changed significantly from the character we saw in the last game, and I suspect the same is true for all of the returning cast.

So these things absolutely aren't like the HRAs we know.

It says "A-R INJECTOR M1" (Active-Resonance?) above the FBC logo, and though tumblr compression makes it unreadable, the grey pouch held in place by the rubber band says "Sterile" before the next word is redacted.

Following the wire, there's also two types of tape on Zoe's neck, the grey duct tape and a square of clear tape, like the kind used to secure a canula to an injection site. I had previously though that the wire was for an earpiece, but if it's to an injection site, no wonder they've taped it down so it can't catch on anything, or else they risk ripping it directly out of their carotid artery.

Have they invented an new serum or medication of some kind that prevents or holds off Hiss infection? With Jesse gone, the usual HRA models can't rely on Polaris to power them. Or is this a new device for a new threat?

How are they manufacturing the pouches of injectable material, and what are they making it out of?

I personally think these are two different scenes, on purpose. Theory time but my guess is that these are overlaps or a similar concept, and only in moments like these they meet and need to, I don’t know, close what is letting the Pattern come to reality I guess
