i'm the kind of person that gets hyped when plants exist on spaceships in sci-fi media if that's not obvious
it's just a vibe man idk i love it
xanthosoma lindenii <3333 i love you
it's plant watering day so i'm up and not rotting and it feels wonderful
she has a baby and a new leaf coming in at the same time augh
awesome soil obtained grrrrhhh
all happily repotted (idk what happened with the lighting on that last one)
hopefully they will settle in nicely because i spent longer than i'd like to admit sawing that wood slat into three chunks
now listen. i'm well aware you can grow them on moss poles. However. they often just trail their aerial roots back into the soil and don't actually dig into whatever they're climbing. also i do not have the means to keep up with three moss poles. soooo yeah three monstera idk what to name them yet (my dad suggested huey dewey and louie and i think i like that a lot)
so. those three babies. they are quite large
and then
more children from a friend
i absolutely love blizzard trying to retcon the whole "no d.va never was a starcraft pro player she played a different game requiring the skillset of her meka actually" because she totally used to have a fake player profile on the official site. she references starcraft IN-GAME in some voicelines (these might be old/removed idk i've been playing this game for 9 years it all blends together). and
sponsored by blizzard ?? literally why else would blizzard sponsor the korean meka force. like okay sure there's probably some reason you could come up with but COME ON blizzard this specific retcon makes me laugh every time
you can see it just above her knee too. lol. it's such a common bit of trivia why did they retcon it
next we're gonna start acting like hammond isn't the most toxic character in the game and if it weren't for the profanity filter in his ball he'd be throwing slurs out left and right at his enemies
"tre no re" "lululululuulululu" "FIGHTING" "journ left" "walk on zar 3 2 1"
all instinctual competitive callouts i get made fun of for in casual gameplay SIGH
One last look at Earth before we reach the Moon. This view of the Earth was captured on April 5, the fourth day of the Artemis II mission, from inside the Orion spacecraft. The four astronauts will reach their closest approach of the Moon tomorrow, April 6.
so. .. project hail mary huh
huuauaaagghhhrmmh,hhheheh,h,hrrrrr
you know that post where it's like. sometimes you have to be mentally ill to get better so if naruto has to tell you to brush your teeth you just go with it
see i've been laughing at the absurdity of this actually happening to me. thank you ender. i will go to therapy. i appreciate you .
This isn't me thinking Ender would be proud of me for going to therapy this is literally my team captain named Ender telling me "Therapy and psychiatry helped me and you are going through the same feelings I am. Go lock in and get drugs ok"
oh lord how i wish nobody ever had the displeasure of knowing me
aaawwww yeeeaaahhhhh haammmppteretrrrrrr
if i'm in charge of the whiteboard decorations i will be putting the hamster there just sayin
(i was not responsible for the poor handwriting of the "tryouts" that was the same guy who misspelled the game's title as "overwath")
a boy and his dog named cosmo
i prefer minecraft just being the sandbox game (alpha releases with friends is my favorite way to play the game apart from gtnh and anything in 1.7.10) because listening to people talk about the Lore and All That is just like . dude. back when i was a kid. we could block with our swords. you would stripmine for hours (which. by the way. hasn't been a thing for four years now). sheep didn't drop mutton. you could still craft notch apples and you didn't even have the crafting table gui in your creative inventory. i miss my achievements menu. honestly back when i played minecraft we didn't even have a creative inventory and then when we did it was the comically long scrolling inventory
obviously not all of these things came in the same update and obviously some of these changes were for the better. but .
my point here is like
listening to people talk about all of the Lore! and how Deep and Metaphorical minecraft is! and most egregiously "the minecraft movie didn't take the game seriously and they made a joke out of such a beautiful game and story!"
i played minecraft when it was uncool. and then when minecraft became cool we really started getting all of the Lore (apart from the end poem). and call this an old man yelling at cloud moment or something but like i really really love the feel of old minecraft (i love my modded versions in 1.6.2 or 1.7.10 or 1.12.2 and most recently 1.16.5 of course) and i love what it was before microsoft and the smp plague got ahold of it
and yknow i'm glad the game is as big as it is now and i'm glad tons of people play it now and the lore is cool. it can be metaphorical and deep and deceivingly complex. but also it's minecraft
minecraft is the game where i remember getting lost in my uncle's stripmines because he'd mark the floors with redstone and really only he knew how to get out and the game where my dad used to build giant skybridges to get between bases and mob farms and mines and biomes and the game where we'd build giant cobblestone castles with lavacasting and struggling to run spigot so we could run our plugins smoothly and playing with mcmmo and leveling up my acrobatics really high because i was always falling off of tall bases i'd build and the game where my siblings and i learned basic commands for the windows command prompt from because we had to figure out the "last couple numbers of our ip address" to join each others' lan worlds and the game where you had no colored blocks except for wool so gargantuan statues would be built out of wool you'd farmed for hours for and your brother would set them on fire and the game i've easily sunk thousands of hours into and the game i have the fondest memories in and the game where i go when i'm feeling overwhelmed and nervous about everything ahead of me and the game whose music always puts me to sleep within twenty minutes if i sit down and try to listen to it and the game where we couldn't run and the game where we had to destroy leaves manually (this didn't last too long though) and the game i rushed through my chores to play because my dad said i couldn't play the horse update until my room was clean and the game my name came from
it's the burning of jokoxandria
and all of the other shenanigans and inside jokes and accidental worldbuilding you and your friends get up to when you have no set story to follow
i dunno i just really started to feel a lot of disdain towards people who drool over the lore for minecraft and don't like it when i say "it's just minecraft"
and really i don't mind
because we played two different games
but man.... i owe this game a lot
and seeing people try to tell me i'm wrong or just a hater or whatever for "not liking" the minecraft lore (i think it's just fine and i enjoy existential worlds like this) makes me feel a little odd
my son the rat man
cleaned this up a little tiny bit
