Lord have mercy on my rough and rowdy ways.

"I got the Peacekeeper Award in class." "How did you get that?" "Well first I had to be chosen as the Peacekeeper. Then, if two people are having an argument, me and my other friend go up to them and try to fix the problem. Then if we can’t fix the problem, we go and tell Ms. Jamie."
The white cracker who wrote the national anthem knew what he was doing. He set the word “free” to a note so high nobody can reach it.

At 6:45 pm yesterday, I paid $1,400 dollars to repair my car's alternator, battery, and timing belt.
At 1:15 pm today, some jackass ran a red light going 30 miles over the speed limit and slammed into the drivers side of my car, while his 10 year old son was in the front seat.
I was on my way to see all of my best friends graduate from college; if I hadn't taken a semester off, I would've been walking with them across that stage.
Thankfully, i was not harmed too badly. I only walked away with a dozen or so bruises and minor cuts. If I had made it even three feet further than I did, I could have been paralyzed, if not dead. My car is totaled, and the amount that I will receive for it is next to nothing. But, cars are replaceable, lives are not.
These past six weeks have been overwhelming to say the least. Even though I am not technically graduating, I have been through the same amount of stress as someone who was. On top of working an almost full-time job and commuting an hour each way to school, it's safe to say I've been a bit tense and anxiety ridden.
Today really put a lot of things into perspective for me. In the past ten hours I have become so much more grateful than I have been in the past year, at least. I am alive and unharmed, I am blessed by the most perfect family, not to mention the most perfect friends; I have a job, I am baby steps away from completing my education, I have found the truest of loves with one of my best friends.
I guess what I'm trying to say is this: (in the words of dear ole Mike Fernandez) Savor every moment. We are not guaranteed tomorrow. Take advantage of every opportunity and every loved one. Don't let life pass you by.
Well, that was only three years coming.
