~This blog is specifically to promote older dogs as family pets. Too many dogs are left to pass away in shelters because people would rather have a puppy. Let's show the world old dogs can be wonderful additions to families too! Here are a couple more pictures of my baby, Doodle. He just turned 9 this year, and is the inspiration for this blog. He's filled the last 6 years of my life with joy, I love him more than words could say. He is living proof older dogs are just as good, if not better, than puppies.

WOOOFLES! I’m Hoover, and I’m gonna KISS YOU BUT GOOD! Yeah, I may be 9 years old and blind in one eye, but you’d never know it because I’m a happy happy girl, all excited about finding my person to love since my first person got sick and couldn’t take care of me anymore. Fortunately my shelter peeps at Almost Home Humane Society of North Central Iowa stepped in, and they say that I’m the youngest 9-year-old they’ve ever seen. And I don’t really miss my right eye — I mean, it’s not like I didn’t have a spare! (That’s doggy humor. Hope you liked it.) So put “Hoover’s new home" on your to-do list, and get clicking and sharing! I’m counting on you!
