Deanie was stuck. Cornered in a brick room with no way of escaping the demon walking her way. She'd tried to lead them into the devil's trap, like she'd seen her father do on many occasions, but this demon was smart.
The demon was inching closer, stinking breath filling her airspace as she attempted to reach the flask of holy water in her skirt pocket as her legs flailed uselessly in the air.
Finally grabbing onto the flask, and realising that she couldn't just splash the bastard, she bit her lip in frustration. And that's when it came to her---ding, ding--- Deanie smirked and dumped the holy water onto her hair, soaking it through. The demon scoffed and made some remark about tough luck---but Deanie had a plan.
From that day on, Deanie regarded her hair not as a weakness, but a strong, hidden weapon. And she always braided it with salt-and-holy-water soaked ribbons.
