I just read 'you have to practise what you want to be' and i-
do. not. put. effort. into. people. who. don’t. give. it. back.
3 types of self soothing thoughts
Validation: it’s ok that I hurt and want to feel better
Reassurance: I can handle this pain even though it hurts
Perspective taking: I’ve had bad days like this before and I’ve made it through them. I can remember my better days and know I’m not always hurting this much
Most importantly: you’re stronger than you think.
WHY DOES THIS NOT HAVE MORE NOTES
wow, this is
really helpful
My best friend has given me this exact advice numerous times, he’s spot on accurate.
I really needed this tonight
would you prefer to learn French or Italian before you die?
the threatening aura of this message reads like it was sent by the duolingo owl
WEDNESDAY [16.06.21]
i overslept this morning so i wish i could work as fast as i do in this time-lapse.
i'm so ready for finals to be over.
have to thank tumblr for romanticizing absolutely everything. i'll be washing dishes and peeling oranges thinking of love languages its insane
it’s okay to miss them without wanting them back in your life. it’s okay to remember and long for those good memories you made with them. it’s okay to feel sad when you re-realise that there’s a reason they’re no longer in your life. it’s okay. just because you miss them or miss moments you had with them, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you want or need them back in your life. you are simply reminiscing on the past and that’s normal.

Day 1 of 10
Well, that '100 days of productivity' thing seems a tad overwhelming (I've tried multiple times, and failed), so I'll start with ten days.... And I can always build from there!
This morning is for finishing off some notes for Moral Philosophy (I was behind 2 weeks of notes when the semester finished) and this afternoon is for Japanese.
Wish me luck!

life is not success. life is not grades or achievements. life is refreshing naps, drinking your favourite drink, movie night, hugging your best friend, laying on grass, funny videos, seeing your plant bloom, the days getting longer, candles, finding a piece of clothing that’s just so you, complimenting people, personal handshakes, that one song, cleansing showers, smelling flowers, cute book or coffee shops, cute prints, finishing a notebook. this is truly what life is. the smallest things.
So it's been a while since the last time i've posted something and i guess things just got kinda crazy.
Exams started last week and i have a cold so i really don't feel like studying. And some lecturers really like the "thrill" of giving us extra tasks to do for class, only the night before.
The doctor said i needed to get more quality sleep. I am tired, but wayyyy too stressed to sleep.
gosh none of what i'm saying is probably making any sense but i guess i just needed to word vomit for a moment. what a way to get back online.
Anyway adults saying “I don’t know isn’t an answer” is part of the reason I learned to lie and bluff so well.
Really though, what was that about? I don’t know is a valid answer. It communicates very clearly that the child cannot answer your question, and therefore maybe needs more help understanding the question/situation. Why do you try and push them to give an answer they don’t have? That stresses them out and it makes them feel like they’re being punished for not knowing something.
i thought i was the only one with an “i don’t know” problem because my parents made it seem it was the strangest and also most horrible thing in the world. i genuinely didn’t know and they got angry and that only blocked my thoughts more which meant i didn’t know the answer to anything else.
THIS ^^^
Also “I don’t know” is a commonly used sentence for children with ADHD/Autism. We DON’T know why we can’t do our homework. We DON’T know why we can’t eat certain foods sometimes. We DON’T know why we forgot to do a chore. It’s really distressing when you genuinely don’t know and people think you’re just lying or indifferent
If you’ve been working on your recovery despite all the challenges, I’m so proud of you.
If you chose recovery for the first time today, I’m so proud of you.
If you’re considering recovery but you’re not there yet, I’m so proud of you.
If you’ve had a setback or a relapse, I’m still so proud of you.
You can do this! I have faith in you!
This is a summary of college only using two pictures; expensive as hell.
That’s my Sociology “book”. In fact what it is is a piece of paper with codes written on it to allow me to access an electronic version of a book. I was told by my professor that I could not buy any other paperback version, or use another code, so I was left with no option other than buying a piece of paper for over $200. Best part about all this is my professor wrote the books; there’s something hilariously sadistic about that. So I pretty much doled out $200 for a current edition of an online textbook that is no different than an older, paperback edition of the same book for $5; yeah, I checked. My mistake for listening to my professor.
This is why we download.

Spreading this shit like nutella because goddamn textbooks are so expensive.
not necessarily art related but as someone who couldn’t afford their textbooks this semester this is a godsend
REBLOGGING because after a little digging, I found my $200 textbook for free in PDF form.
friendly reminder that this exists since I know we’re all going back to college soon
If you are a college student, you understand how expensive textbooks are that we only use once.
Understand that there is a huge difference between someone finding you physically attractive and someone who actually respects and values you as a whole person and sees you in their future
