Just Seeing, Just Painting.
I don't paint to explain the world.
I paint to discover how seeing becomes painting.
The table where my family eats, a cup of coffee, evening light, an unfinished conversationβ these ordinary moments become places where thought and sensation meet.
I believe painting is more than representation.
It is an action. A trace of attention. A way of asking what art can still be.
Working from Nara, Japan, I continue that question every day.
Recent works are collected below, including the ongoing series A View of the Table.

it's been a while but i'm finally back into knitting! i've recently made this Skyrim themed cardigan based on the landscape of Tel Mithryn and its surrounding views. this one was a lot of fun to design and get everything lined up!
knitted on 3.5mm, 4.0mm, and 5.0mm needles with Drops Nepal yarn
SEAWEED x2 OVER HONEY FLUX x2 LOVE LOVE LOVE. one is a brown clay body and the other is a white clay body, both stoneware I'm pretty sure.
a quilt i made my mom for her birthday :))) she loves blues and floral patterns ππ»πππβοΈππ¦π
machine pieced and quilted, backed with a mended old flannel blanket. I embroidered the little label/message with perle cotton. some of the fabric is dyed in indigo or painted with dye-na-flow (when I ran out of blues!!!)
kindnesses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
mixed fabrics (cotton, linen, synth blends: hand-dyed, over-dyed, commercial); machine and hand-pieced, hand quilted, hand appliqued.)
embracing what i want from quilting versus what i thought i had to strive for. this is going to a pretty fancy show in september so maybe bad timing but we'll see!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
